I absolutely agree with you. I am a manager in an IT company my salary is 1.75 lakhs per months but my personal life is fallen apart. My divorce case is going on in court, my wife has my daughters custody and I think this happened coz of somewhere I am a very dedicated employee. Sometimes i even sleep in office to not miss the deadlines. I realise this at the age of 37 however didn't know all of this when I was young and I took my family for granted.

Dont worry brother. Some people work as a Money Machine. Just to grow more and more. But, they loose their relations. The top position in big firms are spoiler of the health first. So , instead of one top or big positions . Do many more medium work or get many more medium positions. And stay healthy wealthy , stress free.

Just because I am running school with my wife . Doing very good stock market. I personally feel very successful inspite of group C post. But there was a guilt somewhere in my subconscious whether it was right to forgo promotions. Today you removed all guilts. Thanks a lot.

This is a great approach. My father did not take promotion for 20 years as he did not want to take transfer. Once his kids were in college and he built his house, he started taking promotions. This way he supported us in our crucial years and built a house which is worth crores now. Now his super seniors cannot afford to buy a house in our city.

I graduated from IIT kanpur way back in 1997. That time 100% of the people wanted to land abroad for relevant/irrelevant reasons. And the intensity to grab anything ,'foreign" was high. But I deliberately stayed back in India. I do not know what I have lost and what "they" have gained. Actually peer pressure, social pressures, family pressures work very well in India and these things "push" people to try to gain and showcase visible achievements. Many of my friends are IAS/IPS/IRS etc with reasonably good bank balances but skewed "life" The worst part is such people carry a superficial persona and a psychological mindset to act in a particular manner only. For instance most of my friends think that financially i am a poor guy. But i have created wealth that is more than 10 times compared to some of these guys but i do not have a glitter nor do i try to showcase it. I am a silent hustler. I found my lifestyle very fulfilling and peaceful...far away from the din of the community center.

Yes Agree!! we all should drive our growth based on needs! But todays growth is 100% based on quarterly targets in all Public sector and MNC working culture!!! you take any sector or any company that is the work culture and which is absolutely wrong!! and these days in india Sales team is becoming mad for sure !! you get 100's of calls, emails, SMS, Whatsapp messages for your health insurance, Car insurance, Car Loan, home loan, Personal loan, Car top up loan , home loan, credit cards and list goes on and you get call from all companies as well!! these days I am getting at least 20 calls and messages per day on these matter!! Just imagine to where we are heading to!!! Its just because to achieve one company quarterly sales number your job is to torture people of your own society and and we say we are highly educated and we are doing high reputed job!! To me its a absolute foolishness!!

This is applicable when you are in govt job which is secure. However if you are in private, especially in IT where technology is changing almost everyday, and there is cut-throat competition only the best of the best survives. A slighy lose, and next day you are laid off, and you wonder how to pay the bills from the next day.

Wao this video is such an eye opener. All aspects like Success, professions, life, love-life and what should everybody do are covered in this. I used to think like this in my career early on. I am now 34 years old now things started changing as soon as I had a kid. He is now 2 years old and one day I was not able to play with him due to excessive work pressure and work load. I cried and since that day I left caring about the work and taking too much of responsibilities. Also must say You are a myth buster and borderline funny too😅😅

The problem is there is a huge disconnect between Economy and returns from a Job, the system is designed to push people in the rut, any career break is considered a "crime", in reality there is no job security in today's private jobs and almost every one changes job every few years, even relocating to multiple cities, in a few years these guys realise that their career is stagnated and there is no growth and they're a slave to the system. They lose social capital, financial capital, health, fail to invest in the right areas of life

Yes... The main thing I learnt from this video is that for fulfilling just one aspect of life one cannot afford or should not afford to sacrifice all the aspects of their life! Because ultimately it's not worth it... It's like killing your actual potential. In your own mind you think that you achieved everything in life you desired by hyper-focusing on your professional life but that's actually not the case, when you really realise it.... You should know about things that are out of your domain and capitalise on that. Work smartly for your own benefit... 🙂👍

This is what I have always felt in my life. I've always felt differently from the people around me. Everyone around me is hell bent on "making it big" in jobs. I see jobs as a soul-sucking arrangement in which you think you are/ you will be getting a lot (money) but actually it's a moving target and in the process you lose so much. Think about it - you work in a system like a tenant. You get a monthly salary as long as you work. The moment you stop working, your income stops. So, you cannot stop even if your health suffers because you cannot afford to stop. And all of this takes a huge chunk out of your day ( at least 10 hours if your commute to work is not too long). It's a crazy way, to be honest. But people are running and spending 30-40 years of their life. And they will keep doing so.

Sir, this video contains an important piece of advice. I used to discuss along similar lines around 20 years back in college with a close friend. We named it the "Pass Marks" guideline. Just as one cannot go to the next class without securing a minimum in all subjects, similar is the case in life. It is okay to be good at something. But it is not okay to fail anywhere. Essentially, this is about seeking balance in life.

About a week ago my boss offered me director ship to handle every thing but after analysing all things I rejected his offers. Due to the same reason he got annoyed, but i didn't mind him and stayed calm.... I can't sacrifice my personal life and peace.... I sleep very well, I take care of my family.... What is the moto of rat race guys enjoy your time with your partners, family, kids they are the true wealth according to my point of view. How many of you agree with me??
