I have gun insurance on my shooting insurance Not the CPSA, I love repairing stock & forends done loads . One of the main things is to keep the stock bolt tight this is a stock splitting remedy for disaster also forend screws. I do all my own maintenance then I know it done properly .👍But get it done once a year if you can't do it yourself after all its a working mechanism !👌

Hello Dave, I was not aware that it was possible to insure gun like this, I do have a insurance though my house insurance but I do not have know what it will cover. With servicing my guns I am putting around 250 rounds on shotguns per-year and round 100 to 250 rounds on rifles depending which calibre I am using.

I would argue that a stock cracking because its too cold is not fit for purpose. Therefore from a legal perspective surely there is an argument to challenge this assumption?.

Yes it is a good idea to insure your gun and to service it they are mechanical objects and need to be looked after or they won’t be in working order when you need it

I had my guns insured with the NFU,but then a couple of years le after they doubled my house insurance..My gun is now insured through a broker ,but you have to be a member of the CPSA or BASC.Not a lot of money to protect your guns

You’re misinforming your viewers - not all insurers cover you for issues relating atmospheric or climatic conditions I.e. the weather. Ripe don’t and neither does sports cover direct.

That's twice now I've seen the raffle appear and I'm none with wiser how or where I'd get raffle tickets. Give us a clue?

How cold are we talking about to crack a Gunstock ?? I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind being out in sub zero freezing temperature trying to bust clays . There certainly won't be any driven game shooting going on or wild game about .

I have shot game and clays in sub zero conditions on many occasions. Only prolonged snow or ice stops game shooting. As for clays as long as the traps work and it’s not snowing why not. Never had any issues with my guns or stocks shooting in sub zero conditions.
