Why you should delete your social media accounts

Jaron Lanier is considered one of the fathers of virtual reality and a veteran of silicon valley.
In his book 'Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now', Lanier contends that sites like Facebook and Twitter are dopamine farms that are reprogramming how you think and feel. He says they're also causing political instability, and are changing the global economy for the worse.

KZread has plethora of knowledge based content, lots of lectures, workshops, genuine people sharing their skills and ideas. Listen to podcasts, music, take virtual tours of places you`d probably never go to otherwise, learn how to cook, grow food etc. It is a great place for inspiration and also to some extend to build a community of shared interests. Of course, like everything in life, it needs to be used wisely. I only use FB for the interest groups or to support local entrepreneurs, artists, creators, farmers etc. There is place for everything, we just need to know how to use it. Now, after over a decade of the social media "products" we are getting more familiar with them and the dirt behind the scenes. We feed those companies with our time, data and money, so it only makes sense that we use the strength of our feedback to change their monopolies and hegemony before it is too late. As far as I remember they cannot exist without us, and the moment that flips we will be ruled by an "unaccountable algorithm."

Rodoriginal101 this is also the exact reason why i use youtube. during quarantine this is the best way to keep our brains active and have the ability to learn and expand our minds. however we can easily get sucked into something that will be considered “useless content”

Delete social media don’t let it idle cause you will be tempted 2. Read the Bible even a page a day use the same time you would use your phone for hours reading opinions on FB or liking models pics 3. The problem though is that everything revolves around or dabbles in social media. It's difficult to get a good job or network without it, especially now that it's basically considered weird to just walk up and communicate with somebody like a normal person. People don't call and ask a question - they type it in. People used to run inside and answer the ringing phone; now it's in their pocket and they might get back to it. Used to be if someone said they were going to do something, they usually did. Now it's really rare. Societies degenerate before they are conquered.
