Why You Never Hear From Cybill Shepherd Anymore

Ойын-сауық

In the 1980s, it looked like Cybill Shepherd’s star could only go up. The former model had successfully transitioned her career to the big screen, nabbing roles in critically acclaimed films like 1971’s “The Last Picture Show” and 1976’s “Taxi Driver” before landing a lead in ABC’s comedy-drama “Moonlighting” opposite Bruce Willis.
But on-set turmoil and a poor reputation seemed to tarnish the actor’s career, and it’s been years since Shepherd has appeared in anything of note. Curious to know exactly what went down in this star’s once shining career? This is why you never hear from Cybill Shepherd anymore.

Cybil's character was so funny and she had perfect comedic timing chops. You go girl. Saddened yet not surprised to hear that the boys club was as cruel and obnoxious to her during her series as they were in the standup world in the 80's and 90's. Series 1-3 Moonlighting was amazing. The chemistry between Cybill (Maddie) and Bruce Willis (David) was phenomenal. She was stunning and still looks attractive, now. Cybill in the show was great (but she was already a star). But it was obvious after the pilot episode 1 it was unknown Bruce Willis' show. Wow. He was a revelation, his performance was amazing, charismatic, sexy and really stood out from the 1980s crowd (Tom Selleck, David Hasselhof, Pierce Brosnan, A-Team the Brat Pack etc), a star was born. He was "that guy." You could tell he was going to be a Hollywood A-lister. No wonder Cybill was annoyed, Moonlighting was supposed to be her great come back. Instead Willis' performance totally overshadowed/ upstaged her. It's bizarre how BW didn't do that much comedy after Moonlighting. Of course he sensibly did alot of lucrative action films. Now he doesn't care about acting or making good films. He's on $1m per day rate so costars on straight to DVD schlock action duds. A shame.

Willis made the show and she was jealous - he was a smash hit in Diehard while her career depended on his appeal. did she care about parts for older actresses when she was young and chosen for her looks? No. It became an issue when she lost her looks when she got old.

Hollywood is an exhausting place. A lot of actors get there money, and leave. And it’s ridiculous that women have to always dodge rumors that they’re difficult when they stand up themselves.

How about Cybill being sexually assaulted by CBS executive Les Moonves? Which lead to making the show less about female problems and cutting the very essence of what made it such a success? They basically bullied the woman for being strong and independent, and when she didn’t want to play by their rules they cut her out. You never hear this type of thing happening to men in the show business.

The sad truth is that Cybill skated by on her looks from the beginning and never really became a skilled actress. Helen Mirren and Judi Dench don't seem to have trouble finding work.

She’s a WASHOUT!!🙄 And it sounds to me that Cybil is VERY intransigent to even work with! She’s also way too aggressive on any movie set and has some serious issues. I sure wouldn’t work with her!!😮 The woman’s so-called death experience so light and limited is also a WASHOUT!- She turned to Jesus??- What’s up with that anyway??😮😆 That’s so darn limited- The man TAUGHT about the Infinite Mother, where the origin of Love derived from in the first place, the Origin of Being who is God. She’s brain-washed and delusional.

Lady you sound a bit out there. Yes she turned to Jesus. You don't want anyone disrespecting your opinions or beliefs so extend the same courtesy. And calm down. Yikes.
