I’ve been waiting sooooo long for the ows pro, glad it’s popular enough for a review this quick, because while I absolutely love oladance’s products. The things they promised from the pros was just way too much to convince me of a pre-order. But you covered pretty much all the questions I had, Thanks!

Thanks Mark, very helpful. You showed exactly where to position the speakers at the inside top of the ear; the user manual was not clear on this. If you don’t put it in the right spot you get weak audio. Also, I assume you should not bend the thin connecting wire between the battery and the speakers to get a tighter (or looser) clamping force; the user manual did not say one way or another.

I started getting dizzy spells when I started using Apple AirPods. I put this down to the buds compressing my earwax which subsequently gave me vertigo and necessitated me having to get my ears cleared. I’m now using Shokz over-ear headphones and no dizzy spells to date.

I have these and the Shokz Openfit . These have longer battery life and that’s about it . Shokz are more comfortable. Oladance sounds distorted at higher volume . The shokz sound better to me imo . Will probably return the Oladance because of the sound .

Thank you for the great review. I have some questions. I really love the fit of OWS1 on my ears, so how about the fit difference of ows1/2 and pro? Also, like sony wf4/5, are they possible to change multi point connection by new phone/PC without disconnecting previous device? I think OWS2's maximum volume is not high enough, how about OWS pro?

I'm curious how these fit within hearing protection. With my OW2s, you can't wear them normally under earmuffs - but they are the perfect size where you can just place them inside the earmuff itself and it'll hold them snuggly and unmoving so you can essentially turn hearing protection into bluetooth hearing protection in about 4 seconds. I'm curious if they can be worn normally under ear pro (as they seem smaller), or of they fit the same way as the older version- and also if the top touch sensor would have false activations) This is my main use case for them since earbuds don't fit in my ears properly, and I dislike the sound quality of bluetooth hearing protection earmuffs (they are also great for sports)

I think the Best of Both Worlds is a neck band where you can just quickly drop the earbud from your ear and you have perfect situational awareness. But you still have free hands, you don't need to fiddle around with the case. That said there are some good cheaper alternatives for open ear stuff mee pebbles for $20

Hi, have you used it for a 10km run? I am currently awaiting my 4th replacement pair. Somehow, during my run, the left ear bud suddenly reduces in volume and then turns off. Can't seem to charge putting into the charging case. Yes my first 3 pairs had the exact same issue and one of them had an additional issue where static sound occurs when focus mode is turned On. I don't reckon that my running sweat overwhelmes the IPX4 rating. Anyways just curios if anyone use it for running intensively. P/s. Awaiting my replacement. Thanks and loving your videos

These open air head phones have taken Indian market by storm. There are many start ups (NG Corp for example) have bone conducting, open ear headphones for as cheap as 25 pounds!!! I have bought a pair for myself to test and tell you I am not disappointed. Unfortunately I can not compare them with SHOKZ as i don’t have them but compared to these “in ear” buds like AirPods etc, it is a different experience. Pls let me know if you want to try these India made ones, I can send them (My cousin from UK is here and I can send them with them. They can “Royal Mail” you to Leamington from Slough). Great review as always mate. Keep them coming cheers.

I know it may be a long for you to respond but I do have a few questions. Is there any noticeable audio latency when watching youtube videos and such or when switching tracks on a music app? Are the controls all completely executed via touch commands or are they tactile buttons?

  • @jonbuckalew255

    @jonbuckalew255

    11 ай бұрын

I've never noticed audio latency with any OWS offering and don't with these either. The controls are a mix. Out of the box volume is swipe forward or back for volume then play/pause, forward/back and assistant controls are push once, twice, or three times respectively. The button press doesn't push in and out like a normal button though, but you hear a "click, click" from the bud indicating that you pressed it. It's different, but I like that it won't be as easy to accidentally use a touch control like the OWS 1/2.

This video came out at the perfect time; I just bought the Shokz OpenFit and then saw these on Amazon and have been debating whether I'm keeping the Shokz or trying the OWS Pro. I like the look of the OWS Pro a lot better than the Shokz, but the Shokz do seem to be noticeably smaller, which I think will be more comfortable on my ears. I'm still torn between them, though, and I have a feeling that I won't actually know until I've tried them both myself. Of the two, which do you prefer?

I briefly tried the Shokz myself and could not get over the bass distortion for music I generally listen to. As for sound, OWS pro has slightly better bass but also much worse highs distortion than Openfit. I would say comfort and multi devices connection are the main differences when you choosing these two. It’s hard to say which is better.

Me too - my pre-ordered pair are going back for a refund. They had a constant ticking sound. Massively disappointed. Oladance support said the static noise was normal and occurs on all Bluetooth headphones. Absolute nonsense. I ordered a pair of Shokz OpenFit instead as a number of serious KZread reviewers rated them as best for low residual noise - clean sound with no static or white noise. Much happier. Some compromises compared to the OWS Pro, but I don't mind as long as the audio is clean.

Sorry Mark but that sounded like an ad read to me. I get that there are lots of features. But no negative impressions? No everyday use advice eg latency, sound quality or the impact on the sound of external noise? No comparisons to other products- whether major competitors such as AirPods Pro (as you say - a very common running earphone) in terms of sound quality etc; or even comparison to a direct competitor- the Shockz you reviews just the other week!!! And sorry but saying features (usually with very scientific sounding names but which may be marketing nonsense) are 'difficult to test' gives prospective buyers no information of what they actually do or how effective they are at what they claim. Normally really like your videos. This was just disappointing

@@MarkEllisReviews no difficulty with paid promotions. But consumer advice is what people want. Recommending is one thing. Incisive analysis is more useful and would make the recommendation more reasoned and stronger. Thanks

I appreciate that, Andrew, but consumer advice is exactly what I'm delivering here. This channel has never been one for 'incisive analysis'. I appreciate your feedback, but you're not going to like every video I publish - that's the nature of KZread and a growing channel.

Most if not all videos about Oladance OWS ear-buds are promoted by the company. No real honest reviews out there. Move on people.

One other thing Mark. I love that your an English podcaster but please don't pander to our over the pond cousins. We stayed out of the Euro so we can keep our pounds. Please give prices in pounds and as a favour to the good old USA market, then dollars.

Hey Mark, I love your reviews but I've now watched two openly declared paid promotions (Oladance OWS and Shokz OpenFit) which you highly rate but state the review hasn't been influenced by being paid. If you can point me at a paid promotion review that you've done where you rate the product as rubbish and I'll retract this comment, which I appreciate may come across as a tad cynical.

It does come across as cynical, I'm afraid. There's no such thing as a paid review of a poor product on this channel because that would be utterly nonsensical for everyone involved. The brands I've worked with on a paid basis receive good reviews because I like their products - it really is that simple. Oladance and Shokz are perfect examples of that - they make superb products that I'm happy to recommend to my audience. I hope that helps clear things up.

I have had the Oladance OWS 1, OWS 2, and OWS Pro. To me, the best of the bunch is the OWS 2. The sound may be slightly better on the OWS Pro, but controls are terrible compared to the OWS 2. With the OWS Pro, you have to push a small button that I found kind of hard to use, With the OWS 2, it ear bud is touch-sensitive and I found it so much easier to use.

I went with the OWS Pro for sound, which was most important for me, but I TOTALLY agree with you on touch controls. I realized it's more like "squeeze controls" lol. I have to squeeze, rather than tap or press for reliable controls. The "sliding" function works tho.
