I struggled a lot with this two years ago, and still do to some extent. Without even realizing it, I’ve used this advice since then, and it has helped me tons! Thanks for making a video on this topic and putting it into words like this ☺️ If some of you struggle with this I would really recommend recording yourself and try to get comfortable speaking to a camera. It may sound odd, but it’s a great way to practice holding “eye contact” and force yourself to speak with confidence to something that won’t give you a response to what you’re saying. It is surprisingly uncomfortable, but it has changed the way I communicate. Pick up your phone. Find a topic to talk about, it doesn’t really matter what you talk about. The goal is just to speak for a set amount of time. Rewatch the recording and find two-three points you could improve. For example: lack of eye contact, “uhh”, “ehh” and “ahh” sounds etc... Make a second recording where you focus on these points and make a new assessment of it. Did I improve? Rinse and repeat. I did this daily for 10 days or so and saw an amazing improvement. If you struggle with speaking with confidence, I really hope you give this exercise a shot! And if you do, please let me know if it helped! It might also encourage even more people to try it out😇 Again, thanks for addressing this issue I know a lot of people including me struggle with. Have an amazing week! 👊🏻 Much love from a random Norwegian.

I also believe that recording yourself speaking is super technique. Practicing the mechanical aspect of speaking is essential to become more skilled. And it comes hand in hand with what was said in this video.

It’s amazing how changes can happen in 10 days! I’ve been doing breathing exercises along with other exercises from this channel for some time now, but you definitely encouraged me to speak and see the changes.

For me it’s I know inside but I can’t word it, like I know there’s bs going on in my life, inside me I know the situation is bs but I can’t word it. Idk the words. That’s the best way I can explain it

I don’t think it’s always about someone’s emotions when they can’t articulate themselves clearly. I also think their vocabulary is a huge factor of it. Getting more knowledge on a variety of words will help immaculately.

I've sometimes struggled with this too - and thinking about it, it's usually in a situation where I'm not confident in my answer, or I'm not comfortable sharing that thing with the person I'm with - so it's definitely the psychological response that then causes that physical adrenaline rush/glottal stop that can amount to a blank. It's annoying but good to know there's a way to improve on it!

Apparently this is what people needed to hear. But I can't escape the impression that blatant delusion isn't the answer to lack of confidence. That's what creates those brash characters that emphasize their insecurity with their put-on assertiveness.

I'm trying to find out what this is called when you hear someone enunciate a word and they said it perfectly normal, such as the word Change I'' hear "shange" instead is this called an Audio Distortion? I've been struggling with this for years and don't know how to fix it? It only happens a very few to less every month and stress triggers this. Please any insight would be greatly appreciated something that is going to lead me in the right direction I don't know if it's something a speech therapist can help or counselor? I have brought it up in my counseling just recently.
