#TOYOTA #VENZA #HARRIER #LEXUSRX #LEXUSNX #RAV4
Toyota's beautiful Venza is more than just striking looks, it has quality build and impressive materials. Should you skip the Lexus lineup and get a Venza and save thousands?
The Toyota Venza is the all-Hybrid crossover that’s in a league of its own. Exclusively available as a Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), it can make the best of every ride with a manufacturer-estimated 39 combined MPG. Add in elegant crossover style, a tech-focused interior, and standard Electronic On-Demand All Wheel Drive (AWD) and it’s a package that is both distinctive and practical. The 2024 Venza is available in LE, XLE, and Limited grades, as well as the uniquely stylish Nightshade edition. Based on the XLE trim level and available in three exterior colors, the Venza Nightshade features blackout trim for a distinctive presence.
The Venza’s undeniably eye-catching design combines with a fashionable, quiet cabin for a package that makes an impression. Its stunning alloy wheels, LED projector headlights, and continuous, thin rear LED taillights give Venza a strikingly modern look. While the Toyota HEV System and standard AWD give it a blend of efficiency and utility that’s at home on long road trips or during inclement weather.
The 2024 Venza Nightshade Edition is available in three premium exterior colors - Celestial Black, Wind Chill Pearl or Ruby Flare Red, each boldly accented by an array of black trim for the interior. The Nightshade shows a true designer touch, starting with the acrylic front grille trim, black-painted outer mirror caps, door handles, rocker panels and available black roof rails. The lower bumpers are complemented in front and rear by smoked chrome moldings as well. The black shark fin antenna is a crowning touch.
All three colors of 2024 Venza Nightshade Edition ride on 19-inch gloss-black multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. LED fog lamps, standard on XLE and Nightshade, shine bright through the darkness. For Nightshade specifically, this can also be paired with the available Star Gaze™ Panoramic Roof.

I am fortunate enough to own a 2021 Venza Limited. Even without the newer features that were added in the 2023 model, it exudes a luxurious and feature-packed ambiance. I think the current generation Venza very well may be the best and most well-rounded Toyota product ever made. Beautiful interior and exterior styling, tons of features, high quality materials and the classic THS system reliability and smoothness. I have traditionally been a Lexus customer but once the Venza was released I really didn't even consider the new NX. I just hope that Totoya doesn't have a knee-jerk reaction to the relatively low sales of this car and discontinue it after this generation.

Hi Kirk, Just wanted to let you know that I purchased a Venza LE. Previously I owned the LS430 and the Tesla S. I have to say that I am very impressed by the Venza. No regrets about getting the LE. The stereo is plenty good. The smaller infotainment screen is good for me. Mine is a late 2023. Too bad it’s getting replaced by the Crown Signia. Nothing bad to say about the Crown Signia except the cost will be significantly higher. Thanks for your great videos! John

I am a previous owner of a 2021 limited Venza, which I truly liked. It was very comfortable, looked beautiful, and was full of luxury. However, I did trade it in after a year because my wife and I decided that we wanted more room. So, because the Venza spoiled me with luxury that I never had before, I upgraded to a 2022 Lexus 450hl. However, in terms of seating, I'm down to 4 people with the captains chairs and an absolutely useless 3rd row that I always keep down to use for additional trunk storage. I am also disappointed by the lack of a digital rear view mirror that I had in my 2021 Venza. Thanks for the great review as always!

I believe you have made my mind up for me Kirk. I was on the fence about purchasing a Rav 4 Prime, verses a Venza. I now think I will be buying the Venza, even though my dream car is a Lexus NX. I believe I can still get luxury out of the Venza, without paying the Lexus NX money...lol?! And I think I'd go Venza LE, or Limited.

Same here, the black softex pkg, heated and ventilated seats and heated steering wheel plus the JBL/Sub/NAV cinched the deal for me. The Ruby Flare Pearl was my test driver and after a few miles on the Hwy, plus local driving, I was quite impressed. So after a brief talk to the mgr and his assistant I went off to the finance dept and took a 3 yr lease, 15K miles/year. I have just shy of 40K miles and one payment left, so if the numbers are good for the ‘24 Limited, it’s a done deal. The ‘21 optional pkgs that were installed are N/A on the XLE for ‘24, only on the LTD. This is where T makes their profits, as they’ve got you hooked and you’ll likely not want to settle for less than you were comfortable with. It’s marketing and the bean counters that have it in for the U.S. consumers. 😐

I love the electric rear motor with ZERO mechanical drive train and 89 ft/lbs of INSTANTANEOUS TORQUE! It's no race car, but that rear electric motor really improves performance from a dead stop. I test drove the Avalon hybrid front-wheel drive it was a dog and slow off the line. The rear motor on the Venza really makes up for not having a turbo on the 4 cylinder. And with no turbo the engine will last forever.

I have a 2022 Limited. I have not had a single issue with it in 34,000km. I've gotten 38mpg average since I've owned it (and that includes 2 winters). Only "issue" is the passenger seat doesn't go down (fixed for 2023 version) and is very high for my wife to get into lol. The touchscreen is a pain, everyone says it and I hope Toyota goes back to buttons, no one likes these things! This was my first Toyota purchase but I suspect it won't be my last, I'm sold on their quality. I'll keep this one quite a while, as it's already priced $5000 more in 2023-2024 than I paid for mine lol. I should also mention that a similarly equipped Lexus NX here in Ontario Canada is almost $20k more (taxes and fees included) in 2023 than a Venza Limited, so as much as I'd like the Lexus more, it's not worth that much of a price difference to me :)

The current Venza is sold as the Harrier in Japan. The original Lexus RX was a rebadged Toyota Harrier, so it makes sense that it feels like a Lexus. I traded my ‘23 NX350h for a ‘23 Venza because the NX had some loose panels and gaps. It’s one of the first ‘23 NX350h that came off the line, so it may have been a one off. I find Lexus’s decision to use run flat tires really made the car louder than it should be.

Kirk, I sat in the rear of a new Venza yesterday and thought that the rear leg room is not what you had mentioned. I am 5' 9 1/2' and felt after sitting in the driver's seat there was minimal leg space in the rear seat. So much for carrying additional passengers on any 2+ hour road trip. Yes, the Venza's style is beautiful but I would also have to drive the vehicle for any further comments.

I’m not Kirk but if I may throw in my 2¢, I own a 2021 Venza limited and I’m happy with it and the gas mileage is great. I lease a 2023 Mazda CX-5. It’s my 2nd CX-5 as I leased one in 2017 prior to my buying the Venza for my wife. I love the driving dynamics of the Mazda. The seats are firm which is really my only complaint in the Mazda so for rides that may be closer to 2 hours we carry gel seat cushions to throw under our butts so we don’t get sore, lol. I really love both vehicles for different reasons. The CX-5 doesn’t get close to the gas mileage of the Venza. I don’t really care but the higher mileage in the hybrid Venza certainly is a little bonus. The seats in the Venza are much more comfortable. Rear leg room and cargo space is not huge in either car but adequate for small family or a married couple with dogs and not children over 10. Both are mechanically very sound and offer great tech as of late; the Mazda doesn’t offer a digital rear view mirror though. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I’ll tell you this for sure, I’d buy both of them over again and for the price these days they are good cars. And I love that my Mazda was made in Japan. And the Mazda service department has been great as I use them for tire rotations and oil changes.

@@2004cyrus Thank you very much for your insight! I agree that they both seem like great, near luxury vehicles. It pretty much comes down to fuel economy (Venza) vs. performance/power (CX-5). You mentioned that rear leg room and cargo space aren’t huge but adequate in both vehicles, but would you say one has an advantage over the other in terms of space? I will need room for two child car seats and a golf bag or two in the cargo area every once in a while.

  • @2004cyrus

    @2004cyrus

    6 ай бұрын

@@matthewweber1832 the Mazda had a slightly large and more practical cargo space. The rear leg room in both is almost exact in my opinion. 2 Adults fit in either but it’s tight for people over 6’. Not impossible to haul passengers but they simply stand swimming in space and probably don’t want to go on rides longer than 30 minutes. I fold my back seats down in the Mazda since I don’t haul anyone and that’s my driver for now, and there is tons of room. But if you keep 2 car seats In the back then you’ll rely on trunk space and I think it’s fine as long as you aren’t carrying groceries and golf bags at the same time lol.

Toyota Venza is called Toyota Harrier in Japan. In North America, Toyota Venza is purely made in and imported from Japan. Even after North American market is discontinued after 2024, the production of Toyota Harrier will continue for 2025 and after in Japan and few selected countries (primarily Asia). BTW, that panoramic stargaze moonroof (frosted glass feature), for Toyota/Lexus, is only available in Venza, Lexus Rz450e (top package option), and Lexus GX 550. In a nutshell, Toyota Venza Limited includes most of the high-end options (Ultra Luxury/Executive additional $$$$) in Lexus package but without paying extra. Love Toyota Harrier (Venza).

Kirk, one thing that keeps surprising me about this beautiful new generation of Venza since 2021 is the location of the turn signals in rear bumper. This looks like a serious safety issue to me as cars close to the back of the Venza are essentially unable to see the turn signal. Additionally, slightest impact to the rear bumper will disable the turn signals. The only thing that can be placed that low in the rear bumper are just the simple reflectors not something as critical as turn signals.
