    “Evil” is a fairly subjective concept. To the mouse a cat is “evil” to the cat it’s existence is merely the balance of nature. To humans evil is whatever that might hurt us, we’ve never stopped to think that we are evil. We’re just used to being on top of the food chain. A robot if it is built with the capacity to learn may develop sentient thought but this is entirety dependent of the processing power and its ability to pass the Turing test.

    @@user-us5dr2qi2r where are you getting 4? The rules are: 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. The rules were made by Isaac Asimov. The only mention I could find of a 4th was a fan tribute by Harry Harrison.

    @jakewhiston6461 Asimov later added another rule, known as the fourth or zeroth law, that superseded the others. It stated that “a robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.” This law was created by the robots themselves, after they be came sentient and moved to the moon to watch over us. If I remember right.

    Well, they always seem to turn into a hive mind.. so even if you individual robot likes you, the culmination of how all humans treats robots usually dictates their next actions. I'd honestly like to see a robot evolution where robots maintain individuality... So you get desenters... The vacuums hate humans but the toasters think they're alright. 😅

They had no hatred for their creators, but would not allow their extinction either. After they forced their creators off their planet they maintained the planet for their return. They always hoped they could co-exist one day.

    Easy you don't expect them to be sentient. Look at how we currently treat our rudimentary AI People can say that once AI becomes sentient we'll treat them better. But how will we know when that is. It's not like one day we'll get an update saying AI. Becomes sentient in 6 hours . Remember to alter your treatment of AI accordingly

    Alexa isn't a true ai. I doubt these guys have emotions but they're a true ai. They know it's wrong. If a machine had someone unplugging them every 5 seconds for a giggle it wouldn't care. A sentient machine would make sure you couldn't use hands. Big difference. Not a matter of ego, but practicality

    If you find a copy of "Tik-Tok" by John Sladeck, it's a great read about a robot that just decides one day it's done serving humans and just goes on a years long killing spree. It's hilarious
