Most people that have motorcycles do not ride them. Especially Harley riders. Just look in the used bike section. Countless 10+ year old bikes with 10,000 miles on them. I do at least twice that in a year.....LOL No shame to anyone's game. Most people do not ride long distance or in bad weather. But as long a people are having fun when they do get to ride is all that matters.......

Great bike Rick. I still love the simplicity of a basic air cooled and my idea of high tech would be to have a disk break in the front. Aside from that I like to think this bike will bring Harley back around and make it truly competitive in the world market. Personally I think it has a lot to offer.

It's pretty comparable to anyone else's fully dressed big ADV bike, isn't it? BMW, Ducati, KTM, all these manufacturers charge a small fortune for their top tier, fully accessorized ADV bikes from what I understand. Why shouldn't Harley? I think it's a killer bike! I think the Pan America, in general, is one of the best-looking bikes being made right now. It's got a totally unique and totally Harley Davidson stance. I have thought about trading in for one myself, but it's really hard to part with my FXLRS.

I have the 2022 Panam Special, the army green version, I love it, even with it's few problems. Mine is in the workshop at present, they are upgrading the alternator to the 2024 version, the old one broke, had a loose magnet that was causing it to cut out. I have dropped mine a few times, only scratching the crash bars. CVO Panam, I think it should have had the Screaming Eagle exhaust. I have a V&H muffler, it is fantastic.

So during Covid i picked up a Klr 650 i have fully kited it out. Why because it is by far the most reliable bike on the market with parts history going back to the 70s that will work on this bike today. That being said, As much as i like japan. I want an adventure bike that is AMERICAN. that's what i want. i wanted to pull the trigger on the Harley. When it first launched it had a crap ton if issues. and it was all over the place. To be honest I sorta let it go and till today. I have not even checked it out, and I ran across your vod. So ill watch the video and post back with Qs hehe thanks for the vod.

I'll admit that when it first came out I wondered "No engine work? What's the point?" But..... I bought one a couple weeks ago, and don't think it's a waste at all! I had a 10 year old KTM that I loved, but was suddenly in a position to get a new Pan-Am. And while I was going to just get a "regular" RA-S, I knew I'd want the luggage for sure. There was a $6000 price difference between the RA-S and the CVO & I realized that the final cost of the 3 cans & mounting gear would be about $2300-2500....that's almost half that price difference. Then I started looking at all the things the CVO came with besides the luggage & paint job; There's a ton, like the better seat, better skid-plate, quickshifter......so many little things like the radiator grill, better grips, tank pads, etc. While a lot of those are things I could live without, I realized after doing the math that you really DO get your money's worth with the CVO. (And I don't have to do the work to install any of it!) And that doesn't even count the extras it comes with like the tool kit & cover. I eventually realized that "it's a $3000 paint job" is really more just a couple hundred, and that amazing black metal-flake & "orange" (Red!) is worth it. It looks amazing.

I was just talking about this yesterday. Tons of comments were that the Pan Am doesn't sell that well to begin with, why make a CVO version, especially for a bike that is an ADV bike? Well, it's selling really well! It's because of the reasons you listed and many of the reasons I mentioned!

@@ThePoisonDrummer Yep! I've seen a lot of limited-edition HDs that really are nothing but a $4000 paint job (.....LR-ST Diablo...), but the CVO PanAm really does give you the value of its pricetag just by including ALL the options. 😃

If I hadn't got such a killer deal on my brand new 23 2 months before that CVO came out well I would have bought one. My 23 special I've done almost 6,000 mi in less than 4 months flawless. It's tackled everything I've thrown in front of it and the bike is 100% more capable than I am riding it. Did about a hundred miles up in wolfpend Gap four-wheeler trails and terrible gravel roads dropped it once and of course the Southwest Moto tech aluminum paneers do not hold up to that... Anyway the bike is a beast, super fast, hangs with all my sport bike friends to about 140 tops out with stage 1 kit 150+. After the last 1100 mi trip a hammered the bike the entire time and there was no change slap on the way home so I didn't have to bust out the tool kit and adjust the chain like everyone said I was going to have to. I've adjusted to chain twice super easy with the cruise tools that I bought. Finally figured out what paint I'm going to do on mine so it looks close to good as that CVO. Your clit bait did get me because I was expecting to get on here and see somebody that test road one trying to make fun of it... Absolutely amazing motorcycle. I did upgrade the seat which I've had three so far and finally settled with the Wunderlist, I'm saving up the pennies for the mad stad windshield and Barkbuster handguards.

I have a 21 PA. I have been lucky and my bike has been outstanding. This bike is amazing, but I feel it gets way too much hate on line. If you are a brand loyal person, this bike likely won’t turn your head away from euro and Japanese bikes. It also is not embraced enough by traditional HD guys. My dealership in Edmonton is outstanding. Bottom line, buy what you like. Do your research. Be honest with yourself on the type of riding you want to do, and just get out on two wheels. The CVO is amazing looking. You are 💯 correct, by the time you add all the accessories you will want, you basically have the CVO close to that price. You should look into some bark busters or tour tech hand guards. The bark busters are likely more solid, but the tour techs look better, however they have a lot of small pics to assemble. Great video. 👍

I still really like those bikes and I rented one for a week once. I was very impressed. The PA is not for everyone, but I think most people should keep an open mind and take one for a spin, as they should many other bikes to really see what fits them and meets their needs. 👍🏻

I’ve been eyeing the PA since it came out, but figured I should pay off my K1600 GTL before getting an adventure bike. Waiting on the GSA version of the GS1300, eyeing the Ducati Multistrada…and the PA. My 2003 HD Deuce was in the local shop for 10 weeks while they tried to source an original OEM wheel for it and I stopped by there every two weeks to check on their (lack) of progress…and I kept seeing that PA CVO in the showroom. Inching me closer. The Wife says it looks red to her…ha!

Trick question, why would anyone buy new, sure that's obvious. But in the used market some of these Harleys have lost half there value and are reasonable. All of the big bore adventure bikes are big and heavy, have great road manners and can handle dirt roads. No big design flaws in the HD and it's a brand that people buy outside of price or technical comparison. Not great but it's a motorcycle and the brand really really really matters to a certain part of the market segment
