What really tested me was when there was the fire alarm going off and everyone could clearly hear it and the guest asked if they can still check in and be sat and when I told her "unfortunately due to unforeseeable circumstances we cannot check in or seat anymore. We have to evacuate the area" and the guest said "But I had a reservation for now so I want to be sat" and complaining about not knowing when we would be able to seat them. I was so shocked I looked with a wtf face and said "umm there's literally a fire alarm going off right now" while pointing towards the building. The guest left upset just cause I refused to check her in. This was My first year working there. Really made me question humanity.

as a former cast member(Left may of last year) Disney pays every thursday, and they're unionized. And if you're working a position that accepts tips you leave work on average with $200-$300 a night that you can directly deposit into your bank account on property IF you are with the disney owned Federal Credit Union, Partners... Which you have to be a disney employee to even get an account. But yeah. Disney pays every thursday. Even the College Program interns are paid(less than regular employees at like $13 an hour compared to the $15 an hour) but they don't get OT or Holiday pay. They also are required to work at least 80 hrs a week on top of their school work. They also cannot join the unions either.

You'll actually find that Disney cast members are great at clapbacks and putting unruly guests in line while staying in character. Went back in May, and Lady Tremaine and her daughters (cast members playing them) mocked a dude who was acting unruly. The embarrassment of being called out and laughed at by other park guests straightened him out. Saw him a few hours later, and he appeared to be on his best behavior. Although, he kept looking around nervously. I'm guessing he must've ran into the cast members again, and they tore into him. 😂

I worked at Magic Kingdom and there was a time I was going through some health problems and was really worried (especially since I was seasonal, worked full time hours, and had no insurance). It was a Halloween Party night and I had no guests in my vicinity, but I was enjoying looking at the costumes as people walked in from afar. I had some other cast member approach me from another location about why I wasn’t smiling and that I should be smiling, and I just looked at him like wtf who even are you. Like 30 seconds later his manager approaches me and goes OFF on me to the point where I’m now almost crying and I told him I was having health problems and he was like it doesn’t matter if you’re having problems you need to be smiling at all times, no guest is going to approach you looking like THAT. I was literally just looking at the costumes with ZERO guests around me 😭 because my position was useless I just ran to the bathroom and cried for twenty minutes. And I didn’t smile the rest of the night. Another time I had a woman who was just straight up yelling at me over an issue I couldn’t control, and she told me she didn’t like my face and that I deserved to be fired. She complained about me; wrote Disney like a two page letter about how awful I was despite doing nothing and I got a discussion on my record card when I quite literally did nothing but stand there and got screamed at and insulted. I had told my managers the insults she was throwing at me and they didn’t care, they said if a guest complains I get a discussion on my record for poor work conduct, despite not doing anything technically wrong, period. Another time I fell down the steps and sprained my ankle at work; with my manager as a witness. My manager forced me to drive him around on my freshly sprained ankle and I almost puked. Back at our building I asked if I could get a chair to sit on because it was too painful to stand and they said I needed to go to health services to get an accommodation but when I asked if I could go to health services they refused. (You were supposed to go on company time for a work related accident). So I stood at the counter crying in excruciating pain standing on a severely sprained ankle, swollen to the size of a large tennis ball. The ankle eventually healed but my opposite knee hasn’t been the same since. It’s 6 years later. Every time me knee aches it reminds me of the abuse I went though from guests and management and how I will never allow myself to work for a abuser again.

One time I was in Disney world for a dance trip, we performed in a parade and on a stage, but at one point on the way out the building for the parade rehearsal, someone dressed as Mary Poppins was outside (behind Epcot). Obviously some people in my group went to take pictures, but once we got on the chartered bus back to the resort, a man came on and said that they saw cell phones out and anyone who got pictures of Mary Poppins had to delete them because of their strict no backstage photography policy. Just goes to show how serious they are about it.

There was one guy at Disney working at a hotdog stand and we were talking about the newest Star Wars ride (rise of the resistance) and he said ‘yeah it’d be awesome to work that ride you get paid to be rude to guests all day’ lmaooo I love when people who work for big corporations are brutally honest tbh
