Why We Really Fight in Marriage | MarriageToday | Jimmy and Karen Evans

When people marry they bring fears into the relationship. Fear causes us to hurt and react to our spouse. Whether it's a fear of rejection or failure, fear keeps us from intimacy in marriage.

Please pray for my marriage I got diagnosed with depression and anxiety last year and taking steps to help me through it with God leading me. With little support even my wife is trying to walk away from our marriage. I'm finding it more difficult without her support through this time. I love her so very much.

If one wants to succeed in marriage and/or a relationship consider studying jimmy Evan's sermons and other marriage resources. God speaks through his anointed. They are his voice here on earth.

Over n over they say pray.. n pray together.. but if you don't have the practical guidance to show you the basics of a relationship you don't even want to pray with that person. Duh.

@ gorgeous wales Where has the submission of the wife to her husband in everything gone ? You think that a woman who submits can fight ? Look at all the females in the workplace , you think they spent their time fighting with their bosses ? They SUBMIT to them , they submit to strangers , to men they should not submit to but not to their husbands! It is devilish. And men like you who tolerate that are guilty of not purging evil from YOUR household.

Filed for divorce today, never thought I would be here. I prayed over my marriage and I asked my husband to go to counseling. He agreed but never made any steps. I paid for it myself without a job. I am at lost because for a whole year I tried I gave it my all and all I got in return was more torment. We argue every other day. I went to my prayer sisters and family and nothing has changed. I have faith that God is going to do something great. 🥺🥺 Somehow I just dont have anymore strength to stay when I am under valued, talked down to, called every name but the one assigned at birth, I came to him and spoke to him over a year ago and I told him everything God told me to tell him. Over this year I watched him lose his faith in God, now i don't know if I believe anymore. I had so much faith. My 5 year relationship and 2+ years of marriage feels over and divorce feels like it's the end. I sot counsel I prayed and now I am here filing divorce. I don't know what else to do it hurts too much to stay and hurt so much to leave. My family is being ripped apart and the man I thought God sent to me no longer loves me.

Have you tried the XO Marriage one day intensive counseling? It’s just 1 full day & they teach skills on how to deal with issues. They get to the root cause of issues quickly instead of the long drawn out process of weekly 1 hour counseling sessions - which seems to take forever & you don’t really feel like you are getting anywhere. It’s “expensive” - but a divorce is WAY more expensive. If that doesn’t work then I don’t know what will. Like Jimmy says you have to have a teachable spirit- you have to want to learn. My fear for you would be that he is either a narcissist- or he is having an affair (or both). (Do your research on both.) Please keep your eyes & ears open & be willing to listen to your gut. It’s usually right. I feel for you & certainly understand. I was in very similar shoes. Sometimes it does have to get worse before it gets better. Just be prepared- but God can hold you up. Don’t lose faith. Remember that our timing is not his. My husband had to hit a really low rock bottom before he was willing to take the blinders off & be willing to allow the Lord to work in him. That may or not be what happens in your case. But you have to stand strong. Set your boundaries. (Eph 6:10-18; Exodus 14: 13a, 14) Good luck & know that you are not alone!

I am so sorry. My marriage didn’t turn around for over 8 years and when he got saved. Then it still took years. We still need counseling and or teaching. A lot of it has to do with how we were brought up. We are trying to undo the bad messages we got as children. It is God’s will that you succeed in marriage but He gives us free will. Your husband needs to want it too. I pray for your strength and comfort in Jesus’ Name.

@@callmepistol Why so many "counsellors" in the church now ? Because those tyrants have stripped HUSBANDS of their authority and power over their wives. Now it is counsellors and quacks like Evans and co who have power over other men's wives !!! Counselling is NOT biblical. A wife must ask her husband at home and not deal with other men in the church . Evans teaches that husbands are not in control in order to ler other men take control. This is wicked .
