No that is fat not energy the human body burns sugar for fuel, we do not store sugar we store fat from fatty foods, meat, fried foods, dairy, etc... this is the science..

@G T The point of keto is that it trains your body's metabolism to switch from using carbs as fuel to using fat as fuel. By essentially starving it of glucose, it's forced to use fat for energy = fat burn. Excess carbs get stored as fat, which is why you may gain weight (I say MAY because high carb diets work for some people. I don't think there's a clear cut diet that everyone should follow. I think it depends on how the individual feels, etc. I don't follow the keto diet, but I do find it interesting. I try to eat mainly whole foods ... with the occasional oreo milkshake 😅

Having struggled with my weight for the last 40 years I was told I HAD to lose weight for an operation. I went at it like a military operation ensuring no more than 1200 calories a day. It didn't work. Medics told me I had to exercise more because I obviously hang on to fat and told me to eat less fat and more carbs. I tried to tell them I already did this but they obviously didn't believe me. Then I saw this video. It led me to read around it - eventually finding Low Carb down under. I'm now two and a half weeks into a keto diet with intermittent fasting overnight (8 hour eating window) and have lost 8lbs. I want to thank you for changing my life - and probably saving it as I will be able to have the operation now if the results continue.

Great to hear you figured something out. I learned about this in my early 20's when I was big into bodybuilding/lifting weights and went at it like a ritual. The funny thing is that it's basically common knowledge around 'fitness pros' - They probably figured it out through trial and error and then in the age of KZread it's easy to spread the message and once you hear the logic it's easy to say yeah, I'll give that a try. I honestly think the reason this kind of information isn't pushed by western governments is because they'd have to admit that their entire nations have been fed false advice for the past 40 years.

Even regular almond or soy milk is too sweet for me. I only get unsweetened versions. Some of my coworkers drink those type of drinks 2-3 times a day though. What your left with is a proven diet to take you to old age, with the benefits of modern medicine and living conditions. My mum moved from sabah at the end of the 70's, and only got signs of obesity after they started building fast food in Western Australia. Old books are hit and miss because they usually were built on opinion and observation. Now we try to back everything up with research, but even that method is flawed because coorelation doesn't mean causation and because there's always an agenda behind the study usually money. And, "got money's not looking for the cure."

The next step after establishing correlation is the proposal and thesting of mechanisms that explain said correlation, if they fail the tests then new mechanisms are proposed (as the ones explained in this video. There is corruption in science (as in any human activity), but science is done in multiple countries with multiple finance sources, thus eventually science gathers more evidence and self corrects. The trick is catching when is science being influenced by corruption and when there is not enough data.

I think in the 70s, they were generally unsure of what was causing increased rates of heart disease. Maybe it was simply that we were living longer! But it made sense that eating less processed meat (cholesterol) would reduce blood cholesterol, and less fats would reduce blood triglycerides (fatty precursor to cholesterol). But that doesn't tell the whole picture.

Its so funny to see and hear people around me, both strangers and people I know, react negatively to me choosing to opt for fatty milk, sour cream, fatty meats etc. And try and convince me that it's unhealthy and that I should be buying low fat milk which is technically a water with milk taste that has all sorts of additives to compensate for the loss of minerals and vitamins. Then I also see same "experts" eat loads of bread, pizzas, cakes and what not and get chubbier each coming year. Then they ask me how do I stay in shape despite me eating loads of fat. Literal kek.
