What did we do differently than all our advanced primate cousins? The #neanderthals had art and trade and society, why didn’t they survive? According to my paleo-anthropology experts because of #adaptation, symbolism, and cumulative #culture.

⏰ SERIES DESCRIPTION
⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡⏡
As a crustacean poet once said, “The Human World, is a mess,” and boy was he correct. Our history is a patchwork of fossilized bones spread across the world. In the last 20 years, we’ve made huge leaps in our understanding of the human story, but we’re still trying to understand exactly where we came from and why we’re still here! This is especially confusing when you learn there were so many other ancient human-like creatures on this planet throughout our long history.
If you take one thing away from this series, I want you to know you're a combination of millions of ancient animals toiling, adapting, evolving and breeding. Just ponder that for a while.

The species that you and all other living human beings on this planet belong to is Homo sapiens. During a time of dramatic climate change 300,000 years ago, Homo sapiens evolved in Africa. Like other early humans that were living at this time, they gathered and hunted food, and evolved behaviors that helped them respond to the challenges of survival in unstable environments.

You and I (and all else here now) will be the old guard when he's in the millions of subs. I joined the day he split Seeker to do his solo stuff too, but it sounds like you were here before me. I wanna say I came around 11-12k? Somewhere around there I believe. Definitely before 20k.

@@Rabbit-the-One honestly I dont really care about the clout of whos been here longer or how consistently. Trace seems like a good guy and has been a fairly reputable content creator and the passion shows even when he inevitably has his less passionate days. I hope this algorithm spike give him some new subs.

The socialism that helped homo sapiens survive have also created issues like anxiety and unhealthy comparisons and competitions among humans. I'm now only waiting for the evolution that eliminates depressions and disorders cause certainly that isn't doing us much good.
