Mk6 golf R is best looking imo. I just hate the red strips on the gti. The Mk5 gti is beautiful tho.

Love the MK6..MK7's completely undermined the MK6's short reign IMO..They're still as fresh/modern as a MK7..The later MK6's are still less than 10yrs old..and that lovely streamline down the wing..(which reminds me of the MK3's)..which disappeared on the MK7 looks so good..so subtle but stands out....I prefer the MK6 looks to the MK7....

Got mine a few months ago. Red dsg, lots of fun to drive. Got it remapped last week, pushing 300bhp 😁. It's now a beast to drive. Good review bud 👍

Had my mk6 gti from new in 2012. Black, dsg 5 door. Leather, cruise, dynaudio, Monza Alloys etc. Full vw sh. Under 30k miles. New Golf R arriving soon. Yes. Strong money. Over £12.5k trade in. A fab car for the next owner. Sought after cars hold their price well it seems.

I picked up a 2012 3 door dsg ed 35 with the 19inch glendale and ed 35 seats and I can't describe how much I love this car. A bit lowered and an oem scirocco r backbox is all thats done to it. I plan on going stage 1 next year and just get a decent summer and winter wheels/tire set up and that would be it, I enjoy driving too much to lower more etc Can't wait to go on road trips

Just brought one of these low miles (23k) mega spec, love it Iv owned a rs3 m4 among other things and this just performs and sounds great

my sister has the MK6 GTD pushing a slightly optimistic "240hp" but it's a lot faster than my EP3. Also this makes the same sound inside haha

Thanks man, good question, the ST had a really fun amount of boost and was an adrenaline rush along with the noise, but the 35 puts the power down so well and handles better, I'm gonna be biased as I prefer vdubs so I'll say the 35 😉😂

I have the normal mk6 gti....o bought mine recently and I have those same lights.... Do they come from vw?

I know that ED35 doesn't have the KO4 turbo- don't know if that's a good or bad thing as some guys on the forum have got over 300+ on their ED30's and are still full of personality, but its 230bhp standard right?

Cheers mate, It's the same engine as the ed30 like I said, it has a ko4 and can get 300 quite easily

I have one! :) and my Edi 35 is also black, I have DSG and its awesome.

I had one... and I love it. For me it was never underrated.

You should try the Mazda 3 mps out if you can get your hands on one it's an understated car that most people forget about.

Got him by myself and still love it every fucking day when I run on him! Gen 7 also looks nice to me, but not as perfect as the VI with these agressive and beautiful LED-Lights (front and back)! Thanks for Your short review, I enjoyed it, altough I really know about the specs and behaviour of this car ;-)

nice video. I have the same car, your gear changing is so slow. That car can handle very quick changes.

Mk6 is pretty nice but always been a mk4 lover just the build and and look is the best but good video

Best looking taillights I’ve seen on a car would probably be a Brera - another car you should look on test driving - but as a Romeo I wouldn’t expect much in terms of reliability.

Fun fact , golf mk6 gti with the ea888 2.0 tsi can handle more hp than the tfsi like this one. Moreover , with the tsi platform you can have stock fuel system and achieve 400+ with gtx2867 turbo. Anyways , nice video and review keep it up :)

No it does not handle more hp, the CDL motor in here actually does

My dad got one that the best bit it understated. When passengers get in and don’t know what it is going down the motorway 😂 it priceless.

Always liked the Edition 35 but I don't like the prices they are selling at, Edition 30 is much better value and more special (BBS wheels. nicer seats etc) so not much of an upgrade but it is true the 35 is rarer and they hold the value much better and they have the same understated-ness

my ED35 seats are a lot different to the ones in the video. they have the 35 badge stitched in and with some red detail and red stitches. very dope. i also have a red lip on the front bumper as opposed to black.

I had a stage 1 mk6 gti and my mk7.5 gti rabbit is the same power if not faster stock.. they definitely lied on the mk7 gti power figures.. this car is a beast.. im also from Toronto so might be some differences.. but my mk6 had a ko3 that is way too small to make good hp.. made good tq though

Mk6 is better looking than all that have come after it to date

The edition 35 has the same engine as the scirocco r. But different to the golf r. Golf r got a different engine. Great engine in the ed 35 though. Great for tuning. Great video keep it up

I know this comment is old but I’m pretty sure all mk6s with dsg have sports mode, all it does is make the car go further into the gears before shifting.

When you said automatic looking i thought ypu said automatic honking 😂

The standard mk6 produces 210. 220 at a push. Also a remap on an ED35 isn’t extra 60bhp that’s standard GTI, ED35 makes 320bhp from stage 1 so +100bhp.

My goal is to own one of these before I turn 18

I've got the GTI clubsport edition 40, my friend has a mk6 edition 30 in grey, prefer the Edition 40 but the edition 30 is still very good looking imo

Great videos genuine guy buy dont show your speedo in the vids people get banned or points for speeding and the proof is there in the video mate

It sounds good and has decent power but its in that grey area of styling. Its not quite a chunky little mk5 and not quite a sleek mk7. Id rather put my money into an older and cheaper car. Maybe cheeky mk3 VR6

BWTV Yeah makes sense. Its definitely the most underrated golf. I imagine theyre fun to drive. Bet its a pain in the arse to find one with a decent amount of miles though.

For your next car have you considered a RWD? Maybe a BMW? They go for pretty cheap and have good bang for buck

MKV had the best looks and the worst motors smh, Love my MKV .:R 32 though. i wish we got the cool versions of the gti like you guys did. we barley got the MKV R lmao

+Ed NUFC: I had an 06 SRI CDTI Xpack in black..whoever had it before me must've tuned it cos christ on a bike..with or without sport-mode on, it had power/torque..yeah the interior was averagely ok..bit boring maybe..but it had a powerful engine..replaced the clutch with a Sachs-Solid-Mass clutch kit, it still had 40 mpg on average..all round decent car, considering it was my 2nd car..and I weren't into or rated Vauxhalls at the time..still prefer my German metal i.e. golfs/seats/audi's etc..but as a cheap alternative at the time, I couldn't fault it....

@@FarmerEd7810 I wasn't aware of the gearbox issues..nice1 for the heads up buddy....Best bet would be a trip to CTS-Gears for a powerful box to be built from scratch....

Great car and very reliable but i prefer the Mk4 Golf Tdi GT LOL call me insane but it was my first car a 1.9 turbo diesel with 150bhp and the handling was so awesome , it could take 90 degree corners on twisty village roads at 60mph no problem , the new cars rely too much on technology to get the job done they lack the soul of the older models thats my opinion.

No it's not the most underrated. It's just not near as good as the. Mk5 gti. Had 1 best gti still apart from the newest 1.. Think you meant to write the most overpriced gti hahaha

Not sure where you're at but here in the USA, particularly the Northeast, they're cheap as dirt, sadly ☹️ the value went in the crapper once the mk7s came out. A nice condition with normal miles early mk6 can be had for about $7-8,000 USD so maybe £4,500-6,000?? Not what I'd consider terrible for how much car you get.
