I like the idea of a GPU with an aio in the box. Seems to only make sense with how common liquid cooling the CPU is. Only reason I can never pull the trigger on them is unlike with my CPU's aio, it's the ability to just replace the aio without touching the GPU that I can't settle on. So dispite the minimal price difference, I went with the air cooled version.

Lets not forget reliability and longevity. 3d Artists such as myself can have these cards rendering at 100% load for 12 or more hours. Heat kills GPU's. I have 3x older EVGA (rest in peace) liquid cooled 980ti's and these have been going strong for roughly 10 years. They always run cool and quiet (almost never go over 50deg Celsius) If you do heavy 3d rendering seriously consider something like this. Forego a couple extra percentage points in performance for a much cooler unit which will last longer in the end.

The Gigabyte one has the perfect pipe location on the card, why Suprim put the pipe on the side I'll never know. People will be like "Oh it's fine" and then they'll notice an issue when they try to put the side panel back onto the case.

I think water cooling is a gimmick, it does not cool better than air, it's just an alternate way to cool. And you got to worry about a water pump failing, the only good thing is that it has a low profile and looks neater, that's about it. As an example I have an air cooled MSI 4090 gaming trio x that has no vapor chamber, and it stays cool at 27c at idle and 34c while gaming. I don't know how cooler I would want it. Can water cooling get those numbers?

There are several factors to account for when looking at various models of graphics card. Do bear in mind that when graphics cards have a rated power draw, this is not exclusive to just the GPU alone, but also accounts for VRAM, any additional RGB lighting, the cooling fans, as well as any pumps and additional accessories connected to it. Lower thermals can allow a GPU to clock higher, though this will differ between GPU models and tiers. The lower end GPUs will likely have fewer VRMs and MOSFETs, which may be of lower quality compared to the higher end models. This would in turn allow higher end models to have cleaner power delivery with greater efficiency, thus allowing the GPU to run cooler at the same power draw or providing higher clock speeds at the same power draw. Another thing to account for is the silicon lottery, as no 2 GPUs will perform exactly the same. For those who are not aware, the SUPRIM LIQUID X tends to have worse VRAM temperatures compared to a lot of the air cooled cards on the market, as the AiO cooling pump does not have direct cooling on the GPU (The VRAM shares a cooling plate with the GPU coldplate), which in turn does means that the VRAM may be drawing more power than ideal, which in turn reduces amount of power available for the GPU directly. Unfortunately there isn't a simple answer on whether something is good/better in such instances, since most RTX 4090s or other tiers of GPU will perform there or thereabouts.

I am going to say worth it as it looks like it is the only 4090 that will fit my case. A few questions though: 1:) My msi motherboard talks about something called a bolster to protect the pcie slot on the gpu. Is this included? If not is it necessary? 2:) I see that you could use different fans for the radiator, which is 240mm, or 2x120mm fans. Do you have to connect them to the Y splitter coming out of the GPU, or could you chose to use ICue to manage the fans. (I love corsair and icue if they make it I will buy it don't care about price difference as long as performance is at minimum equal) 3:) Great view of the card btw, I have been trying to find pictures of the power port as I want to buy a 90 degree adapter from cable mod and I wasn't sure if the clip was on top or the bottom. By the view you provided It looks like the clip is on the "top" or back plate side of the GPU. Did I see that right? (at 1:59 of the video. I want the cable to run from the bottom straight up into the adapter which is connected to the GPU if I wasn't clear)

Last week, my local PC shop recommended the "Suprim Liquid X" as a solution to free up PCIE slots I needed in my build. I nodded along, not knowing much about "AIO" or "Liquid Cooling". Later I looked it up and realized...the cooling solution is so niche, there's big implications if it goes wrong - compared to air cooling... You can't just replace the fans/paste - you'd have to convert the card into a "brick" and implement liquid cooling within the entire case. For such an expensive and risk-laden product, I think the warranty should be greater than three years. Gamers maybe constantly changing their hardware every couple of years - but there's "starving artists" who build their workstations once a decade (hey JayzTwoCents, I still run the MSI-Z97-X-Power to this day - and you should see the crazy things I do with it LMAO!). All that said, the point about freeing up PCIE slots is legitimate. And this noob also did some research on that. I came across these things called "PCIE Riser Cables". A starving artist would probably be wiser getting a fan-cooled GPU and a spacious computer-case. Then ask his local computer store to use riser cables to "upright mount" the GPU off to the side. That would free up the PCIE slots for necessary cards - without gambling on risky AIO-cooled GPU's.

You wouldnt need to water cool the whole pc , could still air cool cpu. installing a pump to just use for the gpu, its also not as hard as it initially appears to water cool. However, agree air cooling is generally the way to go

The main things are network and capture cards. And I've long wanted to try a soundcard, since other music lovers claim it improved their listening experience. In terms of external alternatives... I researched ThunderBolt 4 and USB external alternatives. But I found those inputs had a technological ceiling on performance. For full performance in certain high-end scenarios, pcie cards were best.
