While the western Roman empire was falling in Europe, in the Americas one of the most spectacular civilizations was reaching its peak. With advanced astronomical capabilities, a precise calendar system, massive pyramids, and millions of people, the Mayans had no equals in their day. A few hundred years later, the classic Mayan cities emptied, and their written inscriptions ceased. In short order, their enormous temples were swallowed by the jungle and remained hidden under dense foliage for almost a thousand years. Then, in the early 1800s, the mysterious classic Mayan civilization was re-discovered. Why did it disappear?
For decades, mainstream scholars have debated this question without resolution. Now, with new genetic discoveries in hand, this long-standing mystery might finally be resolved. Tune in to find out what happened to the Maya! (with Ken Ham and Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson)

At first glance I'd say they disappeared because they developed high stairways before the handrail.

I am certain that when our history is truly revealed by God that we will look back and understand just how little we truly understood. Our arrogance will seem foolish as it truly is.

The native Americans lifted their hand (saying how) to show they had five fingers and not related to giants who had six

I am throughly enjoying your series. I do firmly believe, people were visiting the “Americas” even during the time of Christ. With these visits were brought disease and war. There has been conflict since the Garden of Eden. There has been sickness and war since Cain and Able. If you look at the epic of the Egyptians, they were constantly plagued with disease and physical maladies. It was their environment and exposure to other peoples. Their life style also contributed.

It is mind numbing when I consider the skill, craftsmanship, technology it took to build these sites. Then add in their understanding of astronomy and sound.

They all came from Polynesian descent. If you sat a Filipino, Tahitian, Hawaiian, Aztec, Maya, and Inca all together the resemblance is so similar

Constructive advice: This presentation needs clearer conclusions and next steps, using slides that are capable of speaking for themselves.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy this series with Dr. Jeanson. I've never heard history explained so clearly. I'm 71 years old and wished I would have had a Dr. Jeanson for a history teacher.

What a blessing to hear these truths of who we are. I’m mixed with European Spanish ( Canary island off Africa) , Tiaino Indian ( Caribbean Islander of the Great Antilles,) African, Irish, and Chinese descent. In that order of DNA importance, In other words, I’m Puerto Rican. Thank you for sharing these powerful truths.

There's no new history there are just new discoveries. Dr. Jeanson is "rediscovering" our ancient history that has not changed.🙂

In my younger days, my wife and I were able to visit Chichen Itza in the Yukatan on our honeymoon. Before restrictions were placed, we were able to climb up the side of the mighty pyramid, and enter the small passageways. The entire complex was/is extraordinary!

Over a million people flowing into the US a year and these families often have more children per generation. It's not hard to see the face of the USA changing quickly or even disappearing as a nation.

I know a Mayan. Well half Mayan. He is a great builder and can work with stone and wood like it is just inherited. He reads the medium he works with.

This is awesome, thank you both! Please do something (more) about the Incas & Pisaro. But that was truly excellent video about the Mayas & how they possibly declined or disappeared at least in their old era. Again, thank you. Good work!

Interesting account of the civilizations that flourished in the Western Hemisphere. El Mirador in northern Guatemala is now believed to be the largest complex by far with over 60,000 structures that covered an area larger than modern day Los Angeles. What may be the largest pyramid in the world "La Danta" with its unique triadic features crowns this huge complex that was vacated about a 1000 years before Chichen Itza was built.
