Hi there Emongg, I just wanted to say thank you so much for reviewing my video. I was nervous about submitting my POV but I really do enjoy this game and want to learn how to be a better teammate so I did. Since this video I have actually ranked up to Gold 2! I'm aiming for Platinum hopefully soon. I often get lost in the visual chaos that is this game and spam my CDs but I have become somewhat more self aware now. Hey, I see you have so much potentially on dva, and I'm rooting for you!! I'm a 3 - or 4-year dva main now, and one of the main tips I'd take note of would be your movement and sensitivity. Dva is very agile, and her flight is an amazing tool. I keep my sensitivity on her quite high so I can do a better job at quickly locating targets and attacking accordingly.

I think another slight criticism I have is your use of your matrix at times where there isn't very heavy fire occurring, and I get that. When it comes to rein's firestrikes or bastion's grenade and other high damage projectiles specifically, those are the moments to it for.

Overall, though, I think you have so much skill to build off of already, and I genuinely believe in you. But in my experience, dva is definitely a hero requiring skill and time to play well, so don't ever be discouraged. :)

If the D.VA in the video watches this comment please: stop matrixing every 2 seconds you need it to defend yourself while trying to retreat from a dive or save a teammate pay attention to your health because you were at 260 hp and you still went in and you died, don't do that back up sometimes and please stop using missiles at far range , the damage you will get with them up close is much more valuable than far and yeah find a way to get close to squishy targets through use of cover or high ground

Not the dva from the video, but I'm also a silver dva, i think the missile one is situational because it does have a relatively short cool down so if you time it right it's probably okay. But like dont missile across the map or something lol

Overwatch players are still stumped that a shotgun is only effective when close range, DM use is far beyond most people's understanding.

Dva is my main and once my highest ranked role. Over 500 hours on her and I have watched all the tricks and tips and feel like I'm really good on her. My teams either say I carried or I'm the worst tank ever. Now I'm silver tank. Plat support and DPS. I never played Sigma and tried him and he's about 500 times easier. What's going on? Is it the new maps or the meta? I enjoy playing her so much, but like you said, it just seems like some maps she's hard to get value. Tank is my least played role now because dva is what I want to play and I don't like playing the other tanks, so when she's not working and I have to switch I'm not having fun. Eta playing since season 2 overwatch 1

I literally just played a game with a Dva that kept Diving in 1v5 and going out of Los. If thats what you do, stop doing that. After i called Dva out she stayed with the team, we did our thing and stomped.

@@LelandJ71 you're first assumption that someone with 500+ hours is that they're going out of los and dying? ... No. That's not it. If anything I probably am not aggressive enough and am always moving to los and returning to supports or hp. Getting demeched is something I avoid. 👍

No one looks at pharah at lower ranks, she could be dancing like 9 feet above the ground in front of someone and no one will deal with her Also that accidental snipe on Hanzo was just too good at 3:15

they really need to work on their aim and focussing on targets because it seems they are just shooting just to shoot because they don’t know who to shoot

If you want to DPS and get kills on tank (which i assume dva players do) then you should switch from dva to zarya. she does it so much better, and easier, works on every map, in every comp. shes less cute tho

A lot of the map geometry greatly benefits Sigma’s primary fire aswell as the shield allows you to push through and maintain space whereas a lot of other tanks are forced to take far more poke damage and take cover

What the other commenter said, it is very much a poke/sniper map, and Sigma is THE tank for that style of play.

He needs to learn the best tank(s) for each and every map. He needs to learn about picks and counter picks. His aim is bad, even worse than most of the bronze players I have seen. He is not using the boosters+meleeing as well, but instead playing passively as a grandma. The only reason I would play DVA on this map is to put pressure on the phara+mercy, if there is no mercy, but the phara is good, DVA is still a good pick, otherwise he needs to change to smth else like Sigma/Orisa.

Weeks? Try 5 years. Silver for life!😊

I do sometimes depends on the situation and hero I’m on tbh

My first account I made on launch day is hard stuck silver. No matter what I do I never go up, I never go down. I make a new account I place gold or plat in all rolls. I then try a 3rd account same results place gold / plat. I decided to grind a season on that account and end all three rolls in diamond. They next season I go make to my original account and grind all season long. I placed silver. I ended Silver. Still have no explanation for this. I'd just say to hell with it and toss my first account, but not with how much time and money got put into it unlocking skins and such.

So serious question. Why don't D Va's just constantly fire to potentially increase damage output? Since you don't reload and only stop shooting to shield, shouldn't you just never let go of fire?

Movement speed is the main reason, and you do pitiful damage at range. Emongg here goes over it pretty well at 4:05 if you haven't seen it yet.

If you are able to shoot an enemy they can also shoot you and with dva's terrible range you'll do 5 dmg while they'll be doing way more. This unnecessary damage means you'll have to wait for healing which besides taking the healing from someone needing it more (someone who has range) it also means you can be stuck on low health when they get in range and now you can't commit to the fight with full health. Try Dva in the training range at various ranges you'll see how terrible her dmg is when far away.

Sure, just ignore the other tank making pressure at 12:35 and tunnel vision the backline WITHOUT energy or bubbles, that will be fine... dude really need more space awareness when flying

there is scientific evidence that flaming is not conducive to actually teaching things. so because emongg's intent is to teach, he doesn't do that. just because you respond to verbal abuse doesn't mean that's a good thing or actually helping you learn at a good pace.
