Why the Trinity Doctrine Doesn't Make Sense: Five Reasons

christianmonotheism.com
To find churches and home groups that believe the Father of Jesus is the only true God, check out the Unitarian Christian Alliance group directory: www.unitarianchristianallianc...
the challenge
------------------
Will you ask these five questions of your pastor or trusted Christian expert? Most people just believe in the Trinity because that is how they were raised. Tradition has been passed down from generation to generation and no one seems to be asking whether or not this doctrine is biblical. If you care about this subject, if this is important to you, if you want to know who God really is, then you owe it to yourself to wrestle with these questions
the expected response
-------------------------------
Time after time when we engage in conversation with other Christians about these issues we are brushed off with appeals to our human limitations. They tell us that the Trinity is a mystery that we just have to accept by faith. We are cautioned that we are not capable of understanding God. Though there is some truth in this type of sentiment, we still consider such appeals to incomprehensibility as cheating. I mean, let's just reverse our positions for a moment. You be the Unitarian and I'll be the Trinitarian. You try to convince me that my beliefs are unbiblical, anachronistic, and illogical. You make some solid arguments and rather than listening and really considering what you are saying I say, "Well, I hear what you are saying, but really, you just need to accept that this is a mystery that you cannot understand; you just have to believe it." If I pulled that on you, wouldn't you feel like that was dirty? Yet, this is what happens over and again. We have to be willing to change our beliefs if they are wrong. May God help us!

meanwhile in Islam, Mohammed never even knew God's name was Jehovah (יהוה). Read the prophecy about the Wheat and the Weeds at Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43, the corruption of Christianity was foretold by Jesus himself, and it was only to be in the time before Armageddon that it would resurface. We are now in that time. Very exciting times indeed. Mohammed was prophesied about twice at least in the Bible, here are those two I'm talking about... Genesis 16: 10-12; Galatians 1: 8, 9.

Christians believe in ONE GOD, just as Christ Jesus quoted the SHEMA. The problem with Islam is that it fails to provide an understanding of the Trinity Doctrine because Muhammad didn't understand the revelation of Christ Jesus. In fact, Muhammad gets the Trinity Doctrine wrong in the Quran, so that is all the proof a Christian needs to expose Muhammad as a FALSE prophet. Islam doesn't give a reason for Christ Jesus' purpose of being divinely born upon this earth. What was the Gospel of Jesus? Muslims don't know because Muhammad the FALSE PROPHET failed to comprehend the message. It is not surprising to me you don't know the purpose of the Gospel of the Messiah (Christ Jesus)? You won't find it in the Quran..... The "perfectly preserved" Quran tells you in Arabic who Christ Jesus is if you have eyes to see. Sahih International Surah 9:31 They have taken their scholars and monks as lords 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 , 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐡, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him. So, as written in Arabic, the LORD is Allah (The GOD) AND the Messiah (Christ Jesus). Scholars have to add bracketed text in order to clean up the error as written in Arabic. That verse proves that the Quran is NOT perfectly preserved as Islam claims. The LORD is "Allah" and the Messiah (Christ Jesus) just as it is written in our Bible. The Quran AFFIRMS the scripture that came before the Quran. So, if Muhammad taught anything different than what GOD revealed to the prophets before the Quran (and he did), then that exposes Muhammad as a false prophet because GOD cannot contradict HIMSELF. You as a mere mortal don't have the wisdom and knowledge to DEFINE who GOD is to your own satisfaction. Christ Jesus came into the world in the flesh and revealed the ONE TRUE GOD to all of humanity. The Trinity Doctrine is not an invention of men, it is the revelation received from Christ Jesus. The Triune Nature of the ONE TRUE GOD is found not only in the New testament scripture, but the Old Testament scripture as well. This is what scripture reveals: 1. The Father is God. 2. The Son is God. 3. The Spirit is God. 4. The Father is not the Son or the Spirit. 5. The Son is not the Father or the Spirit. 6. The Spirit is not the Father or the Son. 7. There is only one God. The revelation is what it is, you don't get to define WHO AND WHAT GOD is.....GOD reveals HIMSELF in this way; so, if you take the time to learn, then you will discover 𝑊𝐻𝑌 Christ Jesus came upon the earth in the remarkable way that HE DID. The PERFECTION of GOD's LOVE for us was revealed THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. Peace Be With You

Then explain why God's Word states all 3 (Tri) entities resurrected Jesus from the dead: 1.) Acts 4:10-God the Father raises Jesus from the dead. 2.) John 2:19-Jesus declared that He will raise Himself up in 3 days 3.) Romans 8:11-The Holy Spirit raises Jesus from the dead. And if the Bible affirms that all three Triune nature of the Godhead raises the Begotten Son from the dead. Then that confirms one of many passages in the Bible supporting the doctrine of the Trinity. No one or nothing can raise the Lord from the dead, except the Triune God Himself.

Well the quick answer is no human sees clearly here on Earth, when it comes to understanding God. 1 Corinthians 13:12. You may be interested to know there is one and only one human recorded in the Bible, that has seen God clearly, face to face IN HEAVEN! 1 Corinthians 13:12. Would you care to see what he has to say on this topic? The following is not intended to prove there is a Trinity, but to show from the best source in scripture that Jesus is God Almighty, which simultaneously debunks the One and Only God belief system, and avoids debating Trinity vs. non Trinity. This is my answer to those who don't believe Jesus is God. Best proof in the Bible, that Jesus is God, disproving the One and Only God, heresy. 1. If Jesus is not God, then how do you reconcile that belief with Rev. 22:16 and Rev. 22:6-9? Jesus is God, because He sent HIS Holy Prophet from heaven, HAVING SEEN GOD FACE TO FACE, to the Holy Prophet John in the Revelation, telling us Jesus is Lord God of the Holy Prophets! Jesus sent His Prophet. Only God can send HIS PROPHETS! 2. The Prophet Jesus sent from heaven IS THE ONLY HUMAN SOURCE ANYWHERE IN THE BIBLE, having seen GOD CLEARLY, face to face IN HEAVEN! 1 Corinthians 13:12 EVERYONE ELSE SPEAKING IN THE BIBLE, YOU, ME, EVERYONE, just don't see clearly. 1 Corinthians 13:12 Again, Jesus' BIBLE HOLY PROPHET, seeing clearly, says Jesus is LORD GOD of the HOLY PROPHETS! One of GOD's Holy Prophets, certainly knows WHO HIS GOD IS!! 3. God's Holy Prophet John, who is 'in the Spirit' throughout his vision, after seeing and hearing Jesus and God's Holy Prophet in Revelation 22:16 and Rev. 22:6-9, calls Jesus LORD GOD ALMIGHTY in his introduction to the vision HE HAS ALREADY SEEN and HEARD. Rev. 1:7,8. That's Jesus and two Holy Prophets, ONE JESUS SENT FROM HEAVEN, SEEING CLEARLY, WE DON'T, telling you JESUS IS GOD!!!!!

@@chergilles actually tho, i dont think that YHWH is the name of God, but an indication that It is God. When you use the Greek Septuagint (old testament that Jesus probably used), you won't find the word YHWH(יהוה). When Moses asked God for His name, God answered "hayah Asher hayah"/ "ehyah asher ehyah, which can mean different things including "I am who I am", "I will become what I choose to become", "I am what I am", "I will be what I will be", "I create what I create", or "I am the Existing One". This is why people who are baptized in titles do not have a spiritual transformation or have the gift of speaking in tongues. God has woken me up to the Truth and so many are decieved by the trinity and the most problematic part is they will argue all day about it and shame you for not accepting the trinity baptism in titles. They refuse to accept that Jesus Christ is the name above every other name. The trinity is leading people to a false baptism that does not have the power to make you a new being in Christ Jesus.

Fortunately, I read the bible before anyone had a chance to indoctrinate me with the Trinity concept. I am so incredibly thankful for this. I am shocked beyond belief that the Trinity doctrine is believed by so many who call themselves "Christians". Christ spoke of the "wide" gate and the many that will go that way. The amount of people who are presently deceived by the Trinity Doctrine is certainly in line with what he said.

Meanwhile, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16‭-‬20 BSB The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And they were calling out to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory.” Isaiah 6:3 BSB God is Holy Holy Holy. End of story? Did you know Trinitarians believe God is one? Bottom line is you, I, everyone here on Earth don't see clearly. 1 Corinthians 13:12. There is one, and only one human source in the Bible that has seen God face to face, IN HEAVEN, CLEARLY, that has something to say on this topic. 1 Corinthians 13:12 Would you care to see what he, Jesus, and one of God's earthly Holy Prophets have to say on this topic?

@@YOCITAS1 I have a post where I just say all I need to do is show Jesus is God, don't need to show the Trinity to prove the ONE AND ONLY GOD BELIVERS to be in error. It is clear to me that you are not one of God's Holy Prophets sent from heaven to instruct me. The only human source in the entire Bible that has seen God clearly face to face, is one of God's Holy Prophets, that Jesus sent FROM HEAVEN, telling us that Jesus is LORD GOD of the Holy Prophets! He sees clearly. 1 Corinthians 13:12 You don't. 1 Corinthians 13 :12. After seeing the vision given him, including Rev. 22:16 and Rev. 22:6-9, God's Holy Prophet John calls Jesus God Almighty in Rev. 1:7,8. That's 2 of God's Holy Prophets, and Jesus telling us Jesus is God. Again, you are not an earthly Holy Prophet, nor one of God's Holy Prophets sent from heaven, nor are you Jesus! As far as the Holy Spirit is concerned, for me the Holy Spirit is tough to nail down....mysterious. I know that the Holy Spirit can be blasphemed which means the Holy Spirit is intelligent, not a force. I also know that John is 'in the Spirit' throughout the Revelation, which means at the very least, John is given understanding through the Holy Spirit. The Testimony of Jesus IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. Rev. 19:10 After studying this vision for 30+ years I am not going to apologize for the fact that I know a whole lot more than you do, concerning what is going on there. I am most likely the only human on the planet that can track the 'angel' through the vision. I tried presenting that once on an online medium called Spectrum, and was instantly cajoled in an angry fashion and banned from the site. With that being the response, I was satisfied that there was no valid response, just angry torch bearers looking forward to a barbeque. Don't make the same mistake they did. Listen and learn.

You are asking a fair question, but I think you misunderstand what the doctrine of the trinity actually says. The word "trinity" is used to describe the nature of God's being as described in the Bible. You are essentially saying "The Father is not The Son!", and that is CORRECT. To believe in the Trinity is not to believe that The Father, The Son, and The Holy are the same persons, the Bible is clear that they are not the same person. What the Trinity does say is that these 3 persons, in a higher and more holy way than our mortal minds can comprehend, together are ONE God. This is to reconcile the biblical statement that the Lord our God is one God. There's some other aspects to the doctrine of the trinity, namely that these 3 persons are coeternal (These 3 always have been and always will be) and coexistent (Think of the Baptism of Jesus, all 3 were present at the same time). This affirms the Biblical truth that God is eternal and that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit act in perfect unison. On a really shallow level, consider your favorite sports team. It's comprised of multiple persons, who act together in perfect unison to be one. It's not incredibly fruitful to try and liken the nature of God, which our finite minds cannot completely grasp, to something so simple, but just to give a simple example I like that one.

@ Candersson Swedican Everything you did was reasoning by deduction, you are literally deriving an idea from multiple verses out which you ignore the circumstances and context they occurred when the words were being spoken or written. On the other hand, the bible has clear verses that leave no place for ambiguity on who Jesus is. When Paul says there is only one God, and one mediator between God and man, Jesus the man; there is no stretching , no explaining, it’s cristal clear. The verse that is believed to be the key salvation formula states to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead to be saved. Maybe you didn’t notice that Jesus has been tempted by Satan multiple times, maybe you didn’t notice that he prayed to God and even was tempted to give up on his mission. Also you forgot to notice that Jesus is literally called the second Adam , he obeyed , obedience to the point of death. Idolatry is usually born of interpretations and reasoning like you just did, that’s exactly what Trinitarianism is. Y’all trying to help God define Jesus with your own reasoning, a dangerous path indeed. You will be fine believing what the bible clearly states .

@Candersson Swedican I meant to say the bible is clear on who Jesus is, I will edit that. You have given me plenty of verses that require still interpretation and reasoning. Let me give you one that doesn’t need stretch and too many connections, if you believe these verses are inaccurate, let’s just delete it from the bible. 1 Timothy 2:5 (one God, on mediator, Jesus the man.) Jonh 20:31( ...so you can believe he is the son of God and and get salvation) Jon3:16. The word of God is clear that salvation comes through receiving Jesus as the son of God , not God. Roman 10:9:10. ( God raised him from dead) These are clear verses on salvation and Jesus, with no need for private’s interpretation( 2 Peter 1:20) You can not sweep these verses under the rug to replace them with a doctrine that is proceeding from reasonings and interpretations. The verse you gave on Philippians 2:6 actually contradicts your point, it says he existed in the form ( form or likeness ) of God = Doesn’t mean God. Furthermore Jesus didn’t abuse that position to be compared to God. Now you are comparing him to God🤔🤔

As someone that read the Bible a few times through before even going to church or listening to Christian speakers it seemed obvious to me the God and Jesus were two separate beings. The Bible made it clear to me that God was God, Jesus was God’s first and most loved creation and that the Holy spirit is just a way of saying God’s is doing something on earth with His power. It was only after listening to Christian speakers and what churches believed that I learned of the trinity believe. To this day the trinity believe still seems like an illogical teaching that is being forced on the Bible instead of being taken out of the Bible.

Jesus himself prophesied that after the Apostles died there would be an apostasy (see Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43). But he did not prophesy another prophet, nor does the Quran agree with the Bible. Rather in that prophecy he says when the apostasy would end, "in the conclusion of the system of things" or "the end of the age", also translated "the end of the world." Also, the one to separate the true Christians from the false will be "angels" not muslims (see Matthew 13: 41). Islam is the False Prophet, which Christians were warned about at Galatians 1: 6-9. "Even if an angel out of heaven" or 'the Apostles themselves' were to 'teach something beyond what the Apostles taught', they were 'accursed by God.' Muslims do not even use the writings of the Apostles, which they pretend are corrupted even though Mohammed didn't know that when he was alive, and we have manuscripts that predate Mohammed that show our Bibles are the same as those. The truth is that the Quran 'teaches something beyond what the Apostles taught' and as such in incompatible. Mohammed was a false prophet.

Wait, so just because you and everyone you've known can't explain it, that makes it false? Do you know that without faith it's impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6? Many Bible truths are unexplainable to finite, mortal, carnal man, 1 Cor. 2:14. Okay, I won't even use the word "trinity", but I believe in the following because the Bible itself proves it: One God existing as three distinct persons, all equally ONE GOD. It doesn't matter if I can't explain it. The Bible proves it and therefore I believe it by faith. Obviously the Bible identifies God as The Father, no one disputes that. But the Bible also identifies God as the son/Christ and the Holy Ghost: 1 John 5:7, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. God identified as the son/Christ: Isaiah 9:6, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:1-3, 14, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 20:28-29, And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Also: Compare Isaiah 44:6 with Rev 1:8, 1:11, 1:17-18 & Rev 22:12-16, 20 Compare Deuteronomy 32:4 & 1 Sam. 2:2 with 1 Corinthians 10:4 Compare Isaiah 40:3 with Matt. 3:1-3 & Mark 1:1-3 God identified as the Holy Ghost: Acts 5:3-4, But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. God identified as One ("these three are one"): 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 Galatians 3:20 Ephesians 4:6 Each person is distinct from the other: John 14:16, And I (Christ) will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER Comforter (Holy Ghost), that he may abide with you for ever; Notice how Christ is praying to the Father and he shall give ANOTHER (distinct from the Father, distinct from the Son) Comforter. Now, forget about man's ideologies, traditions and doctrines of devils and even your ability or inability to explain it. Either you believe the clear biblical proof or you don't. Did you know that water can coexist in three distinct states? At an exact air pressure of 611.73 pascals or 6.1173 millibars and an exact temperature of 0.01 °C or 32.018 °F, water will coexist in liquid, solid and vapor states in thermodynamic equilibrium. It's called the triple point of water if you want to look it up. Whether anyone can explain that or not, it doesn't negate its veracity. Water is water. At that exact combination of air pressure and temperature, either the liquid, solid or vapor can (hypothetically) accurately claim to be the "one true water" and neither would be wrong. In either state, it's no less water than in the other two states. Now, with that being true for water, what makes anything impossible for an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God?

Isaiah 11:2 King James Version (KJV) 2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; John 10:30 “I and my Father are one. Isaiah 43:10 Isaiah 44:6 King James Version (KJV) 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 45:21 (KJV) 21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. @@mariamiyu8025 Quraan says jesus did not get killed, instead he was rather raised up. (See Q4;157-159). Therefore death of jesus mentioned in Q19;33 & Q4;159 cannot be the crucifixion! Prophet Muhammed has explained in Hadith that jesus will die in 2nd coming, after his golden rule of peace on earth. Then he will be resurrected on the day of judgement along with the other prophets and everyone else, to stand for accountability in front of the 1 and only Mighty Creator, Muslims call Allah, Christians and Jews call YHWH or Elohim. Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet Muhammed, peace and blessings be upon him, said; “Blessed is he who lives after the coming of the Messiah Esa (jesus). Blessed is he who lives after the coming of the Messiah. It will be announced for the heavens in the land, and it will be announced for the earth in the crops. If you were to sow your seed upon the rock, it would surely grow. You will not have greed for each other, nor will you envy each other, nor will you hate each other, until a man will pass by a lion and he will not harm him and he will walk over a snake and it will not harm him. You will not have greed for each other, nor will you envy each other, nor will you hate each other.” Source: Ḥadīth Abī Bakr al-Anbārī 47 Hadith Ahmad (9349) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I am the closest of people to ‘Esa son of Maryam because there was no Prophet between him and me…” Then he mentioned his descent at the end of time. Then he said: “And Esa will remain for as long as Allaah wills he should remain, then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.” Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2182). Hadith Al-Bukhaari (3435) and Muslim (28) narrated from ‘Ubaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and that ‘Esa is His slave and Messenger, a word which Allaah bestowed upon Maryam and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is real, and Hell is real, Allaah will admit him through whichever of the gates of Paradise he wishes.” We ask Allaah to make us steadfast in faith and to cause us to die as believers.

Understanding the kingdom of God belongs not to all who say they believe in God, even Jesus who teach the path to kingdom of God have to speak in parables so that whoever hears would still not understand, whoever seeing yet still they could not see, even the Jews have been blinded of the truth and have rejected the Son of God, but it is clearly stated that salvation will come from the Jews and now its all over the gentile. For you to be certain that you are save, you should have the true understanding of the Bible and could be able to see with no contradiction whatsoever. I can teach you the trinity of God but that would deprived you of you're urged to search the truth of God, But I could guarantee you that the answer are all in the Bible, the Jews have seen it and have accepted it but ended up in making it a heresy due to Christ followers who become the Christians, its not invented by Christians but it is already imbedded in the Jewish theology. The Old Testament is a complete testimony of God but somehow something are not revealed not until the Revelation of Jesus in the New Testament, If you are a Unitarian then you are like the Jews who are clinging on what the Old testament only revealed and ignoring what Jesus have revealed. Teaser hint: When Moses saw the burning bush, how many presence or being are there in the burning bush? read the text carefully

Rita: What questions do you seek answers to? I do not know about those with whom you have spoken, I can tell you that while I am not defensive about the doctrine of the Trinity, because I believe quite firmly that denying the Trinity means one is not a Christian and is not saved, it causes me great consternation when one rejects it. (btw - my own brother denies the Trinity which means I have had many years of discussing this whole issue.) There is one thing that must be kept in mind: Does the doctrine of the Trinity make human sense? NO! Not at all. To my rational mind it is ludicrous. So what! I'm not God. Since when is something true only when it makes rational sense to me. The real question is does the Bible teach that God is three, separate persons while at the same time there is only ONE God? The answer is yes. That's the real issue. Not whether it makes rational sense or whether the word Trinity is used in the Bible. Just like those who belong to Oneness Pentecostal churches who hold to the "oneness" doctrine cannot find the word "oneness" anywhere in the Bible but that does not stop them from trying to teach it. So too, the fact that the word Trinity is not found in the Bible is of no import. What matters is whether the foundation is there and that that is who God is. I have spoken at length with members of the UPCI, Mormon, and Watchtower over this issue and have found in each case that they simply gloss over the origins of their false teaching that it came, not from careful exegetical work in the Word, but from a supposed "revelation" or internal work of the "spirit" and then made the Bible fit their new-found beliefs.

Rick Pettey Careful, brother. The bible o\is painstakingly clear as to what we must believe to have salvation. The new testament speaks of our belief in Jesus as the propitiation of our sins as necessary for salvation ALL over the place. Every writer says it in multiple ways, using different wording so that you can't botch this essential doctrine. If you are unable to find a single Scripture that says we must believe Jesus is God to be saved, or have to gather it in your own understanding, then you must be willing to walk away from that belief. I am a Christian. I hold to The Bible as ultimate authority and believe that Jesus was the Christ and died so that I might be reconciled to God. To say that we must have a perfect understanding of who God is in order to be saved is a belief that your own views cannot afford. God does not demand that kind of intelligence or scholarship.

  • @rickpettey8822

    @rickpettey8822

Spencer Wentworth Sorry, but you assume facts not in evidence. I no where said that one must achieve a level of intellectual understanding or scholarship to be saved. Christ Himself dismisses such a notion (Matt. 11:25-30). However, it is only because of false teachings that have been substituted for the truth that a more thorough and detailed explanation of the Christian faith is necessitated. Such was the reason for the writings of the 3 ecumenical creeds (Apostles' , Nicene, and Athanasian). The biblical truth that God is one and yet at the same time three, distinct persons cannot be comprehended by our reason but it IS the clear and unequivocal teaching of God's Word. It is only due to false teaching such as you spread following the false teachers of the early church (i.e., Montanus, Arius, Paul of Somosata, Praxeas, Noetus, Pelagius, etc.). It is easy to confess the teaching of the Bible, that the Triune God was so concerned about our salvation that the second Person of the Trinity, God the Son, became man to bear the sins of the world. Though I cannot fully comprehend the truth of that statement, the veracity of it is beyond question. It is only when people such as yourself, depending upon sin-stained reason, attempt to deny such truth relying solely upon fallen reason that a response is demanded. Though it brings me no joy and is not spoken in anger or any other human sentiment, I must publicly confess that the "god" whom you proclaim is NOT the saving God of Holy Scripture: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You seem to be quite sincere. Sincerity, however, counts for nothing. No matter how sweetly you speak about Jesus (as did the heretics of the early church, likewise in much sincerity) that "god" whom you are espousing is NOT the one, true God of the Bible and therefore your message is NOT Christian. Soli Deo Gloria.

God was speaking to someone here. We know from the book of Job that angels were present. The text does not tell us who was there. Silence is not evidence in favor of any Trinity. Most likely God was speaking to angelic beings who also have human characteristics of language, reason, judgment, music, and ability to choose, meaning we have a similar image to angels. Granted, the text does not state that God spoke to angelic beings, but it makes simple logical sense. We are made in God's image and also we are lower than the angels. This would mean that angels are more of God's image than we are. So it is not a problem if God is speaking to angels saying "Let's make man in our image."

Heb. 1:8 in the King James Version (AV or KJV) is rendered: “But unto the son he saith, thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” Since “he saith” and the second “is” (found after “righteousness”) in the above verse are not actually found in the original manuscripts and have been added by the KJV translators, they are found in italics in most printings of the KJV. But more importantly (as a quick glance into any interlinear Greek-English New Testament will show) the first “is” (found after “God”) in the above verse is also not in the original manuscripts but has been added by some modern translators. Yes, literally the original NT Greek manuscripts read: “Toward but the son the throne of you the god into the age of the age. No one should deny that the title theos (NT Greek word meaning “God,” “god,” “mighty one,” “divine,” etc.) can be applied to Jesus (at least in the writings of John - see the DEF and BOWGOD studies), just as it was applied in the scriptures to angels, judges of Israel, Moses, and (according to some trinitarian authorities) even the kings of Israel. But theos is never applied to Jesus with the most high sense that is given only to the Almighty, Most High, only true God. So it could, perhaps, have been used at Heb. 1:8 in its positive secondary sense: “Your throne, o mighty one [theos], is ...”. This seems even more probable when we remember that Paul is really quoting from Ps. 45:6. Psalm 45 is celebrating an Israelite king’s marriage, and the psalmist applies the words of Ps. 45:6, 7 literally to an ancient Israelite king. In fact, the trinitarian New American Standard Bible (NASB), Reference Edition, explains in a footnote for Ps. 45:1, “Probably refers to Solomon as a type of Christ.” So, according to this trinitarian Bible, the words of Ps. 45:6, although figuratively referring to Jesus, were literally applied to an ancient Israelite king (probably King Solomon, it says). So if Ps. 45:6 is properly translated, “your throne, O God ...” then that ancient Israelite King (Solomon?) was also literally called “O God” (or “O god”?). In fact, the highly trinitarian New American Bible, St. Joseph Edition, 1970, explains in a footnote for this verse: “The Hebrew king was called ... ‘God,’ not in the polytheistic sense common among the ancient pagans, but as meaning ‘godlike’ or ‘taking the place of God’.” The trinitarian Easy-to-read-Version also says in a footnote for this passage: “God .... here the writer might be using the word ‘God’ as a title for the king.” (Cf. NIV Study Bible f.n. for Pss. 45:6 and 82:1, 6.) And the revised 1991 ed. of the NAB actually translates Ps. 45:6, 7 as “Your throne, O god.”) The NAB (St. Joseph ed.,1970) goes on to explain, however, that others have translated this verse as, “Your throne is the throne of God” and refers us to 1 Chron. 29:23 “where Solomon’s throne is referred to as the throne of the LORD [YHWH].” Now we’re getting closer to the most likely intention of Heb. 1:8. There is good evidence that the proper translation of Heb. 1:8 (as well as Ps. 45:6) should be “your throne is God forever” or “God is your throne forever.”

Jesus told me that "Humans got the trinity all wrong." He gave me the understanding that the Trinity doctrine that there are three ENTITIES in one God is incorrect. There is God, His Word, His Spirit. God sent Jesus to us as the WORD made flesh. Jesus told us he would not leave us orphans and God's Spirit was sent to us. Ultimately, not three entities, just our Father giving us his WORD as the lamb of God and much more, and his Spirit to comfort and guide us. So simple yet religion and it's scholars cannot figure it out.

I understand that Jesus came and manifested His Fathers Name. Jesus is the Name above everything named in Heaven and Earth, baptizing in the titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not consistent with this list YAHWEH-JIREH [yah-way-ji-reh]: "The Lord Will Provide" (Genesis 22:14) - the name memorialized by Abraham when God provided the ram to be sacrificed in place of Isaac. YAHWEH-RAPHA [yah-way-raw-faw]: "The Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26) - “I am Jehovah who heals you” both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquities. YAHWEH-NISSI [yah-way-nee-see]: "The Lord Our Banner" (Exodus 17:15), where banner is understood to be a rallying place. This name commemorates the desert victory over the Amalekites in Exodus 17. YAHWEH-M'KADDESH [yah-way-meh-kad-esh]: "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy" (Leviticus 20:8; Ezekiel 37:28) - God makes it clear that He alone, not the law, can cleanse His people and make them holy. YAHWEH-SHALOM [yah-way-shah-lohm]: "The Lord Our Peace" (Judges 6:24) - the name given by Gideon to the altar he built after the Angel of the Lord assured him he would not die as he thought he would after seeing Him. YAHWEH-ELOHIM [yah-way-el-oh-him]: "LORD God" (Genesis 2:4; Psalm 59:5) - a combination of God’s unique name YHWH and the generic “Lord,” signifying that He is the Lord of Lords. YAHWEH-TSIDKENU [yah-way-tzid-kay-noo]: "The Lord Our Righteousness” (Jeremiah 33:16) - As with YHWH-M’Kaddesh, it is God alone who provides righteousness (from the Hebrew word tsidkenu) to man, ultimately in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, who became sin for us “that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). YAHWEH-ROHI [yah-way-roh-hee]: "The Lord Our Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1) - After David pondered his relationship as a shepherd to his sheep, he realized that was exactly the relationship God had with him, and so he declares, “Yahweh-Rohi is my Shepherd. I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). YAHWEH-SHAMMAH [yah-way-sham-mahw]: "The Lord Is There” (Ezekiel 48:35) - the name ascribed to Jerusalem and the Temple there, indicating that the once-departed glory of the Lord (Ezekiel 8-11) had returned (Ezekiel 44:1-4). YAHWEH-SABAOTH [yah-way-sah-bah-ohth]: "The Lord of Hosts" (Isaiah 1:24; Psalm 46:7) - Hosts means “hordes,” both of angels and of men. He is Lord of the host of heaven and of the inhabitants of the earth, of Jews and Gentiles, of rich and poor, master and slave. The name is expressive of the majesty, power, and authority of God and shows that He is able to accomplish what He determines to do. EL ELYON [el-el-yohn]: “Most High" (Deuteronomy 26:19) - derived from the Hebrew root for “go up” or “ascend,” so the implication is of that which is the very highest. El Elyon denotes exaltation and speaks of absolute right to lordship. EL ROI [el-roh-ee]: "God of Seeing" (Genesis 16:13) - the name ascribed to God by Hagar, alone and desperate in the wilderness after being driven out by Sarah (Genesis 16:1-14). When Hagar met the Angel of the Lord, she realized she had seen God Himself in a theophany. She also realized that El Roi saw her in her distress and testified that He is a God who lives and sees all. EL-OLAM [el-oh-lahm]: "Everlasting God" (Psalm 90:1-3) - God’s nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time, and He contains within Himself the very cause of time itself. “From everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”

You may want to add this to your channel. You, me, everyone here on Earth don't see clearly. 1 Corinthians 13:12 There is one and only one human source in the Bible that does see clearly. 1 Corinthians 13:12. Would you care to see what He says on this topic?

Sin causes death and separates us from God because he is perfect and holy. God allows a life for a life to reconcile a person to Himself. In the old testament, and under the law, God allowed animal blood to atone for sins. He sent Jesus as a better and more perfect sacrifice to once and for all eradicate the sin in our life. Jesus shed His blood for us. A life for a life in order to bridge the gap between us and God, since we were dead in our sins. James 1:13-15 talks about sin and how it brings forth death. We need a substitute, sacrificial life to be given life again. Jesus' death did more than that though. It brought righteousness, justification, sanctification, healing, etc. Hope this helps and makes sense. Some of the things in the bible are not easy to understand, and in some cases have taken me years to learn. I enjoy trying to explain, and if I can answer anymore just ask.

Just because we are created in the image of God, doesn't mean we have to have the attributes of God like Omnipotence, Omniscience, Trinity, etc.. But we would have some aspects of those abilities like the ability to actualise certain potentials, the ability to know certain things, and when it comes to the Trinity, marriage and procreation - the man and woman becomes one flesh and from this union comes children (like I said before, this is a very low aspect of the Trinity, not the full aspect of Trinity. They are similar, but not the same).

Very great points made here. Some cite 1 John 5:7 as the description of the trinity. Anyone who’s study New Testament studies will know that this verse was not found in any of the original Greek texts, rather it was added in at a later date to fit the trinity concept. Almost every Christian scholar knows this. If the trinity was true, this would make sense: God sent Himself to earth and God humbled God while on earth. God was still Divine, but God did not know the hour of the judgement (Mark 13:32). God also cursed a fig tree because even though God Created all things including the fig tree, for some reason God didn’t know that it wasn’t the season for figs, so God curses His own creation, which was the fig tree (Mark 11:14). God then prayed to Himself asking... Himself to let the fate of crucifixion pass (Mathew 26:39) from Him. God then was affixed on the cross and God cried out... to Himself "why have I forsaken myself?" (Mathew 27:46) and then God sacrificed Himself... to Himself (no one is on bargaining terms with God) and God died for the sins of mankind. God changed his ways of holding people accountable for their sins, despite how He said "I am Jehovah; I do not change.” (Malachi 3:6) and how the Bible says that God “does not vary or change like the shifting shadows.” (James 1:17)... instead of simply forgiving mankind when they repent (like He did since he beginning of mankind on earth, all throughout the Old Testament).

That verse is horrible for them and I don't know why they use it , it's not a good verse , they are better off using the baptism or Jesus praying to the spirit , not that it helps them when dealing with God's chosen sons , but , it makes more sense to use than that verse .

  • @pacnja1332

    @pacnja1332

In John 1:1, the definite article (the) appears before the first occurrence of theos (God) but not before the second. The articular (when the article appears) construction of the noun points to an identity, a personality, whereas a singular anarthrous (without the article) predicate noun before the verb (as the sentence is constructed in Greek) points to a quality about someone. So the text is not saying that the Word (Jesus) was the same as the God with whom he was, but rather, that the Word was godlike, divine, a god as some translations say. By reading the rest of John chapter 1 we see that John was not telling people that Jesus was God. He was saying that Jesus was much more than just another human. He was trying to say that he had an important and special prehuman existence and relationship with his heavenly father, the true God. (John 17:3). He was explaining what Jesus himself on many occasions tried to get across: that Jesus was the SON of God. John 1:1 says that in the beginning the word was “with God.” Can one be with someone and at the same time be that person? At John 17:3, Jesus addresses the Father as “the only true God”; so, Jesus as “a god” merely reflects his Father’s divine qualities.-Heb. 1:3. As for John 2:19: The Bible does not say ‘he raised himself up from the dead,’ but “he was raised up from the dead.” Other scriptures clearly show that God was the One who resurrected his Son. The apostle Peter told Cornelius and his relatives and close friends: “God raised this One up on the third day.” Along with life as a spirit Son, he received the right to perfect human life that, by dying in full innocence, he had not forfeited. This merit of his human sacrifice he thereafter presented to his Father in heaven. (Heb. 9 :11 - 14, 24-28) This is in agreement with Jesus’ words at John 10:17,18: “The Father loves me because I lay down my life, to receive it back again. No one has robbed me of it; I am laying it down of my own free will. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to receive it back again; this charge I have received from my Father.”-New English Bible. Jesus willingly surrendered his life in harmony with his Father’s purpose. Jesus could therefore raise up the temple of his body in the sense that he had the authority to receive life again.

No. It will not continue forever. There will soon come a time when all false religion with its false teachings will be completely destroyed. Sadly, it is religion that causes many to doubt that there is a compassionate God. Religion’s involvement in war, terrorism and persecution has led even prayerful people to say, “I don’t believe in God.” Why is religion often an influence for bad? Put simply: Bad people have done bad things in the name of religion. The Bible foretold that true Christianity would be hijacked and used for evil ends. The apostle Paul told Christian overseers: “From among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.”-Acts 20:29,30. God is disgusted with false religion. In fact, God’s Word, the Bible, holds false religion responsible for “the blood . . . of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth.” (Revelation 18:24) Because false religion has failed to teach people about the true God, whose very essence is love, those religions are bloodguilty in God’s eyes.-1 John 4:8. The Hearer of prayer feels for the victims of oppressive religion. Soon, God’s love for mankind will move him to judge all religious hypocrites by means of Jesus. Jesus said: “Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?’ . . . Yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.”-Matthew 7:22, 23.

Rather than "proving" the trinity, verse like that call into question the authority of the entire NT. I have come to see the NT like christian view the book of mormon. Daisy Pawa The trinity defies comprehension to everyone but christians. (that is where it starts closing in on "cult status") Listen, you might DISAGREE with Judaism, but at least you understand it. Christians are like John Forbes Nash Jr, the subject of the movie, "A Beautiful Mind". He crossed the line into delusion. I left christianity, NOT because I did not believe it (that came later), I left because the answers stopped making sense. We all know God is omnipresent - everywhere all the time. My friend says, "There is no SPOT where God is NOT!" I love it. So imagine the universe as a box on the table. God is represented by the color BLUE. Looking into the box we see nothing but BLUE. Jesus is RED. What do we see looking into the box? You CAN'T see RED and BLUE. Why? Because if there is a "spot" that is RED, and not BLUE, then we violate the rule that "There is no SPOT where God is NOT!" If Jesus is "fully God", he can't be separate from.... the other God - the Father. Do we see purple? Again, we CAN'T (take a deep breath here....) If we saw purple, it would mean we have TWO Gods, both omnipresent yet filling the same space with the same properties If they have the same properties and fill the same space, then there is only one of them. We only have ONE God. That is what monotheism MEANS. Christianity INVENTED a second god and mixed stuff from the REAL God into a man and have been hopping from one foot to the other trying to make it make sense ever since

I believe that if two verses in the Bible conflict then I am missing a piece of the puzzle or better, I don't understand something. The problem that I have with the trinity is that there are verses that conflict with the trinity doctrine. Let's keep this simple. Would someone explain how this verse goes along with the trinity doctrine? 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; So if there is one God... and the man Jesus is the mediator between God and men, then how could he be God? Here is another question: How could anyone not believe in the trinity today? If they go to church, most likely they get brainwashed with this doctrine from an early age. I know that I was. Only after searching the scriptures and finding conflicts to the doctrine, I began to doubt the trinity theory. God is the Father. This is repeated all over the New Testament. Jesus is the Son of God. This is what he claimed and it is also repeated quite a lot. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.

To: Jeff Krueger. It is unfortunate that you think that you were brainwashed ad a child BC that was God's way of getting you the Truth. I Tim 2:5 is just showing us that there is only one God the FATHER, like Eph 4:6 also says. That doesn't mean that the SON isn't also GOD (See John 5:24 & 10:33). The Holy Spirit is also GOD (Acts 5:3-4 & II Cor 3:17) All three persons carry the name GOD , so we accept the Trinity as the GOD of the Bible.

Lonnie Satterfield Hi Lonnie. I am so glad that brought up these Bible verses. Lets look at them: 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Do you see what I see? This verse shows us there is no trinity. There is one God. There is one mediator between God and men. That is the MAN Jesus Christ Just how can Jesus be God if he is the mediator between God and men. God is the Father. He is the one and only God. This verse by itself is irrefutable. It is verses like this one that I read that when I truly grasped it, I came to realize all the brainwashing that I received as a child in various churches. Let's look at the next verse that you mention. Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Lonnie, here also the bible is clear that God is the Father and he is above all. That means no co-equal trinity. Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. I don't see what this has to do with the trinity. It is a great verse, but I don't see it applying to this discussion. Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. I love how trinitarians think that this proves anything. Jesus never said he was God. He said that He and his Father are one. The Jews said that he said that he was God, but that is not recorded in the Bible. It does not matter what these Jews said about Jesus. It matters what Jesus said about himself. Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. I believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. Therefore the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father. The Holy Spirit is not a separate person who is co-equal to God. No, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father who is able to come to all of us. 2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Both Jesus and the Father are called Lord in the N.T. What I say about this verse is that the Father is the Spirit and where the Spriit of the Father is, there is liberty. I have studied this for a long time. The Bible verses that convinced me that the spirit of the Father is the Holy Spirit is this: Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. In verse 23, I can not find the words "we" and "our" in the Greek. I am not an expert, but from my studies, I can't find them. If those words are left out, I believe, one can find the true meaning of the verse. If a man loves Jesus, he will keep his words (live by his teachings), and the Father will love him, and will come unto him, and make abode with him. This is truly wonderful. This is what I believe.

Jeff Krueger Sorry, The verse I meant to send is John 5:18 and not 24. In the verse Jesus claimed to be EQUAL with the Father just as Phil 2:6 also states. Of course I realize that you will try to explain away that Truth like you did with 10:33 where He claimed His Deity to them and that's why they said that He made Himself, GOD. You mentioned that Jesus couldn't be GOD if He is the Mediator. That's absurd reasoning BC He is just showing us that He intercedes to God the Father for us like the Holy Spirit does in ROM 8:26-27. This is no way detracts from the Deity of the Son or the Spirit. Since you won't accept this BC of your preconceived assumptions it will be interesting to see how you wiggle out of seeing the Truth in Her 1:8 where it is abundantly clear that God the Father calls the Son, GOD. The early church fathers taught the Trinity way before we entered the discussion BC they searched the Scriptures diligently. (See Council of Nicea AD 325)

Lonnie Satterfield Hi Linnie. Alright, lets look at John 5:18. Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Lonnie, the jews wanted to kill Jesus. We hear this over and over in the New Testament. they saw him break the sabbath. Also when Jesus said that God was his Father, they turned it around and said that Jesus is making himself equal to God. This verse never says that Jesus said that he was God. It does not say that Jesus said that he was equal to God. It clearly says that Jesus said that God was his Father. There is nothing here at all to support a doctrine of the trinity. So you think that I am explaining away John 10:33. No, I am not. I am looking for the truth in it. I used to believe in the trinity also. I bet growing up I heard it over a thousand times. When I started reading the Bible on my own, and seeking the truth of God then I started to see verses that disagreed with the trinity doctrine. I then started to question it, then I started to doubt it. Then when I started looking at all the verses that trinitarians us to prove it, at that time I knew it was false. Lets look at John 10:33, but lets read the whole story: oh 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one. Joh 10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Joh 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? Joh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. Joh 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. Joh 10:39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, So the Jews come to Jesus and ask him if he is the Messiah. They want him to tell them plainly. Here, again, Jesus calls God his Father. He make the statement that He, himself, give his sheep eternal life. That is very bold. Then they took up stones to stone him. Here the Jews again in verse 33 state that Jesus makes himself God. Then Jesus asks them: "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? Lets read this verse again: Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? Verse 36 here clearly states the Jesus again says that he is the "Son of God" He never said that he was God. Never. I am not explaining away anything. I am just reading what it says. Nothing more, nothing less. Now I have a question for you. It is from John 10:36. This verse clearly states Say ye of him whom the Father hath sanctified and sent to the world... If there is a trinity and the Father is God and Jesus is also co-equal God, why did God have to sanctify God? Why does God need to be sanctified?

Jeff Krueger Good question - The word means to "set apart" so the Son was set apart to do the redeeming work for sinners by dying and rising up again which was the reason He came. It is sad that you reached a point in your life that you began to question and doubt this pivotal doctrine that Christians have espoused for centuries. I applaud your parents for revealing the doctrine to you and urge you to stop trying to prove them wrong. I didn't understand a lot about the Triune God while growing up but it is abundantly unambiguous to me now.You seem to believe that for Jesus to be the Son of God , he can't also be God too. Your faulty reasoning is deceiving you. The Father call Jesus GOD in Heb 1:8 so why can't you get by your misconceptions and accept what the Father says. In Isa 6:8 we have the teaching that there is ONE true God by the pronoun "I" and that He is three persons by the pronoun "us". Just believe the Truth about who God is.

You raised a reasonably good point about the controversial aspect of the trinity not being recorded. But one must bear a few things in mind: 1. The book of Acts is not doctrine, but an historical acount describing a trasitional time during the early history of the church. Many people make the mistake of not recognizing this, and even go as far as to nullify clear doctrine with things written in Acts. 2. In Acts we see that the Apostle Paul had to compromise his own theology just for the sake of avoiding controversy. His objective was not to cause riots and scare people away from the Gospel, but to make it easy for them to enter God's kingdom. He became like a Jew in order to win the Jews, he becaume like one under the law to win those under the law. 3. When the Gospel was preached it was with milk, not solid food. "I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it." (1 Cor 3:2). There were things back then that people were "not ready for". And obviously, no one gives a new born child a thick slice of meat to eat. The doctrine of the trinity is a difficult thing for anyone to wrap their minds around.

@@Samuelson8169 I think one needs to bear in mind that the main objective of the Gospel was not to teach the trinity, but to let us understand who the Son was and why he was so important to us as human beings. As I alluded to in my post, people were not ready for the doctrine of the trinity at that time and it would most likely have just confused them. I think you should also consider the fact that Paul's salutation in 2 Corinthians 13 ends like this: May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. This teaching is so encouraging! I love how you are calling Christians back to the original expressions of Jesus and the early apostles. Like you say, such Trinitarian ideas would never have been acceptable to faithful Jewish believers daily quoting the Shema, likewise confirmed in Mark 12. Nicely stated! Meanwhile this same point could easily be made of the virgin birth as well. As the two doctrines are intimately related. Monotheism is so much more concise and clear, when not also trying to process the meaning of the details of a literal supernatural birth. All the while, neither Jesus, nor Peter, nor Paul ever mention a single word to support this supernatural nativity. Nor the gospels of Mark or John. Each gospel seeks to make unique theological claims about Jesus. But it is quite curious how incredibly different are the details of the two birth stories from Matthew and Luke. This is our only information about a supernatural birth, and the two accounts do not agree. Matthew’s version has Joseph and Mary living in Bethlehem and then fleeing to hide in Egypt until after Herod’s death. While Luke has the family travel briefly from their home in Nazareth and then return back right after the purification rituals 40 days later. The two stories and two time frames are obviously so completely different, they cannot both be literally true. Anyhow, what Peter and Paul do say is that in promised fulfillment of 2 Sam 7, Jesus is the actual offspring of David “according to the flesh” (Rom 1:3, Acts 2:30). And in a Jewish patrilineal society, that is only possible if Jesus’ actual father is a son of David. Thus, is Jesus the Jewish Messiah through a virgin birth, or because as promised, he has been chosen and raised up by God from the lineage of David? When we try to make Jesus God, either through a literal virgin birth or through Trinitarian doctrines, we lose our hold on his actual humanity and his actual relationship with God (Acts 2:22, 10:38). One could also point out how truly odd it is that Christianity simply pasted this supernatural birth event on top of a previous pagan celebration, rather than caring in the least when the actual birth of Jesus truly occurred, which according to every biblical scholar was not Dec 25. Again, why do neither Peter nor Paul nor Jesus ever bother to breath even a single word about this supernatural birth? Nor does Jesus’ own family seem to recall any of that privileged status in the narrative of Mark (Mark 3:21). Instead what Peter tells us is how we each have a heavenly birth through the “incorruptible seed” (sperma) of God’s Word (1 Peter 1:23). This aligns with what Jesus tells Nicodemus, how we too must be “born again” from above (John 3:3). So perhaps the obvious contradictions in Matthew and Luke are ultimately meant to press us beyond a literal understanding of this miraculous nativity. Perhaps as new covenant believers, we are actually meant to deal with this story by the Spirit, rather than the letter (2 Cor 3:6). For as Paul tells us, we have each been betrothed and presented “as a pure virgin to Christ” (2 Cor 11:2). Finally, no Jewish person ever imagined that Isaiah’s prophesy to King Ahaz about Isaiah’s wife giving birth to a son with a symbolic name was a prophecy related to a future virgin birth. Nor was Isaiah’s wife a virgin at the time. As Isaiah had his eldest son along with him when proclaiming that prophesy involving her next sign-bearing son (Isaiah 7:3, 8:3). Anyhow, all that to say, revisiting the birth and Messianic lineage of Jesus is an incredibly essential component of re-examining the many developmental errors and problems in Trinitarian thought. And as long as we hold onto the idea that God literally sired Jesus, true Monotheism will continue to remain unnecessarily muddled and suspect in the minds of many believers.

Quran Chapter 4 Verse 171 O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. Quran Chapter 5 116. And God will say, “O Jesus son of Mary, did you say to the people, `Take me and my mother as gods rather than God?'“ He will say, “Glory be to You! It is not for me to say what I have no right to. Had I said it, You would have known it. You know what is in my soul, and I do not know what is in Your soul. You are the Knower of the hidden. 117. I only told them what You commanded me: that you shall worship God, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them while I was among them; but when You took me to Yourself, You became the Watcher over them-You are Witness over everything. Quran Chapter 3 45. The Angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest. 46. He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.” 47. She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” 48. And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel. 49. A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by God’s leave. And I inform you concerning what you eat, and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.” 50. “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.” 51. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” 52. When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards God?” The disciples said, “We are God’s allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit.” 53. “Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.” 54. They planned, and God planned; but God is the Best of planners. 55. God said, “O Jesus, I am terminating your life, and raising you to Me, and clearing you of those who disbelieve. And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing. 56. As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment, in this world and the next, and they will have no helpers. 57. And as for those who believe and do good works, He will give them their rewards in full. God does not love the unjust.” 58. This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder. 59. The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was. 60. The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt. 61. And if anyone disputes with you about him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our children and your children, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and let us invoke God’s curse on the liars.” 62. This is the narrative of truth: there is no god but God. God is the Mighty, the Wise. 63. But if they turn away-God knows the corrupt. 64. Say, “O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God.” And if they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we have submitted.” Quran Chapter 19 In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. Kaf, Ha, Ya, Ayn, Saad. 2. A mention of the mercy of your Lord towards His servant Zechariah. 3. When he called on his Lord, a call in seclusion. 4. He said, “My Lord, my bones have become feeble, and my hair is aflame with gray, and never, Lord, have I been disappointed in my prayer to you. 5. “And I fear for my dependents after me, and my wife is barren. So grant me, from Yourself, an heir. 6. To inherit me, and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing.” 7. “O Zechariah, We give you good news of a son, whose name is John, a name We have never given before.” 8. He said, “My Lord, how can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have become decrepit with old age?” 9. He said, “It will be so, your Lord says, ‘it is easy for me, and I created you before, when you were nothing.’” 10. He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights straight.” 11. And he came out to his people, from the sanctuary, and signaled to them to praise morning and evening. 12. “O John, hold on to the Scripture firmly,” and We gave him wisdom in his youth. 13. And tenderness from Us, and innocence. He was devout. 14. And kind to his parents; and he was not a disobedient tyrant. 15. And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the Day he is raised alive. 16. And mention in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew from her people to an eastern location. 17. She screened herself away from them, and We sent to her Our spirit, and He appeared to her as an immaculate human. 18. She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.” 19. He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.” 20. She said, “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and I was never unchaste?” 21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“ 22. So she carried him, and secluded herself with him in a remote place. 23. The labor-pains came upon her, by the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, “I wish I had died before this, and been completely forgotten.” 24. Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you. 25. And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.” 26. “So eat, and drink, and be consoled. And if you see any human, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human today.'“ 27. Then she came to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have done something terrible. 28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not an evil man, and your mother was not a whore.” 29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to an infant in the crib?” 30. He said, “I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture, and made me a prophet. 31. And has made me blessed wherever I may be; and has enjoined on me prayer and charity, so long as I live. 32. And kind to my mother, and He did not make me a disobedient rebel. 33. So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive.” 34. That is Jesus son of Mary-the Word of truth about which they doubt. 35. It is not for God to have a child-glory be to Him. To have anything done, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes. 36. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” 37. But the various factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who disbelieve from the scene of a tremendous Day. 38. Listen to them and watch for them the Day they come to Us. But the wrongdoers today are completely lost. 39. And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded. Yet they are heedless, and they do not believe.”

Who is the Word made flesh? Anyone manifesting the will of the Father. The Father is the Source. The Spirit is the Breath of Inspiration. And we are the WORD made flesh, as we put on Christ, and thus EXPRESS the true nature of God in all His Divine humility, compassion, gentleness, kindness, patience, peace, joy, and love. But yes, as the Pattern Son, Jesus is definitely that as well! This is Peter’s testimony to Cornelius: “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38) Thus Peter’s testimony is that “God anointed him” and “God was with him.” What Peter doesn’t say is “for He was God.” Likewise Paul taught, “There is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim 2:5).
