she looks and sounds like shes on the verge of bursting into laughter the entire vid
I’m always on the side of “trust your ears” but not everyone’s ears are trustworthy. Do your best. Know when you’re wrong. Be amazed when you’re right.
It’s because the Guitar Hero 3 version plays it that way. Is probably the version most ppl remember growing up with today
Especially in the 70s, you’ll come across that phenomenon of things not being tuned exactly to 440 Hz standard tuning. Also, aside from things just not being tuned exactly, you’ll also run into the phenomenon where they sped up the tape machine in the studio, either to bring the tempo up, or to raise the pitch a little bit and make it sound a little more brighter in feel.
I think Led Zeppelin changed the pitch of their music in the same way, they made Tangerine a slightly lower pitch in the editing process, and Ramble On a little sharp. It enhances the dreamy atmosphere sometimes.
It wasn't recorded out of tune as such. Being in tune is relative. A lot of older songs weren't recorded with the A being tuned to 440Hz. That's why if you ever play Rocksmith and go to play older songs it will force you to retune.
It’s because after Tony Iommi lost his fingertips in an accident he had to press extra hard making it go a little sharp
Never knew this. One of my favorite songs growing up and now I wanna go and play it. Thank you for the great video.
Listen carefully... Tony only picks the notes on the 12th fret.
Gonna add this riff to the list of Mandela Effects, as I could have sworn the riff goes up at the end like when you played it the "wrong" way 😳😅
why does she always feel like she's fucking with us? LMAO
This is exactly how I found out The Cure's Friday I'm in Love was just a bit flat. E standard was too sharp and D# standard was too flat. It's like a microtonal tuning and it gives me the impression that Simon Gallup just didn't tune before recording the song haha
I think studios sometimes speed up a record a few % to brighten it
That subtle nuance is something I had to figure out as a young guitarist, too. It doesn’t help that all the “tutorials” were wrong.
I love how she smiles
Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" (as in, some songs from the album, not just the title track) is also a bit sharper than standard, if i remember correctly (which i doubt lol)
Love you! Rock on!
I think back then, the only tuners were these big, expensive things, and most people just tuned for the strings to match, or used the nearest convenient piano as tuning guidance, and who knows what shape any given piano was in. That's what I assume the deal was, lol.
Wow, Sonata Arctica shirt. Not everyday you see that. The Cage is a amazing song.
I know her cheek muscles are BURNING
