Nita Strauss | "Mariana Trench" Track Deconstruct
Музыка
Nita Strauss and mixing engineer Mike Plotnikoff deconstruct the track "Mariana Trench" from Strauss's album "Controlled Chaos." Nita shows us how she makes her guitar sound like the deepest part of the ocean, and Plotnikoff explains how he brings out the emotion of a performance in a mix.
Nita Strauss used her signature JIVA to record this track. To learn more about the

I love 'Mariana Trench' and the whole album. Nita's deconstruction of this song, the concept, the emotion that goes into, brilliant!
This is so cool, especially for an old analog guy like myself. Thanks for this ( and Nina's disc is superb! ). More of these videoes would be very cool!
The album is perfect! Thank you Nita. You apply emotion in every piece. Beautiful.
She's a badass guitar player.
God damn this is tight track! That main riff is 🔥 I’ll be sussing the album tomorrow.

Fantastic player!
Great player!
I want to check out her signature Jiva Ibanez. My local Guitar Center had one but it was gone the day it was put on display.

It's pretty dope - I almost opted for it, but I went for another S series that was a tad cheaper with locking tuners (S1070PBZ). If you're thinking of grabbing it, it's essentially the body of any of the s series premium line of guitars - playing one of those will represent the feel well. You would just need to get some good HQ sounds to help decide if that's the guitar for you.
At 0:28 I thought I was hearing Lamb of God.

yes
How did she get younger over time? I love her guitar a little to pricey for me.
A drummer played the "simple" verse once, he's watching this video on his brand new wheelchair now
Absolutely love this. Nita is amazing. Is that a pile of cash on the deck behind her at 4.32 ?
Sounds like a more elaborate version of In Your Words by Lamb of God
Can someone enlighten on the topic of why would you do all this computer enhancing if it can't be done live? Just record live in the studio like Skynyrd.
@racesla

All easily replicated live, just mixing the track in Pro Tools on a computer. Using plugin effects and EQs in place of outboard gear. Skynyrd had effects on their recordings.

Lol @ he sprinkled some pixie 🧚♀️ dust 🌟. The guy’s a genius
That right hand is tight 😳
Also the drums sound really great on this album.
Man she’s gorgeous
This album is killer, I love it. There’s just one tiny thing that I have to say, in “ Our most desperate hour” there’s a bass drop right after the 3 minute mark, that sucks the life out of everything else in the song and distorts a bit, not sure if that was on purpose or not. But honestly that doesn’t make me like this record any less, it’s just me being annoying
Came here from Vivaldi cover, sick chops dude.
that’s some trivium shit there
As a friendly reminder, the 'Challenger Deep' (at the southern end of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean) is the correct name for the deepest ocean-7 miles deep.
That sounds eerily similar to a Lamb of God song, but it sounds sick!
Good talent , can't write for love no money....
Huge respect to Nita, love her to death, but does anyone else feel like this whole song belongs in the cliche metal-core era of 2006?

I think Mariana Trench is the BEST song on the CD.....
I cannot find anyone who covered this? I wonder why... 😂😉
4:49 look at the pack of money behind him. That's how much engineers earn.

That cash could be some of the $165,755 that people moronically gave to her for her kickstarter campaign to produce an album that could have been recorded in hotel rooms and her house for next to nothing. Judging from the mix it certainly sounds like a very low budget unprofessional affair.
hottest gal guitar player out there!!
She is Jenna Marbles sister or something?
so few women guitar players. But these few are great .
I want to marry her
Very much like trivium, Same sound structure.

Frequency of her emotion? Someone has watched one too many Deepak Chopra videos. This is honestly one of the most idiotic commentaries pertaining to audio engineering I've ever seen.
sounds like any same recycle mediocre chug chug song out there
Ui ui, Nita!
