The big tech companies must be brought to heal. The US Constitution is arguably the greatest document ever created. However, over time, it has been eroded by those seeking more and more power over others. This must be corrected. One correction needs to be reducing the ‘individual’ status of corporations. They are not people! They do not act like people, and should not have the same rights as people. Because a human drives a truck, does not give the truck the same inalienable rights as a human. Same with corporations!

Australia has abundant natural resources, IT skilled workforce and is pkugged into Anglo-American military technologies. As entire economic segments disapear and Basic Universal Income becomes the norm sparsely populated nations like Australia will be well positioned. The impact of algorithms is exaggerated. People just like to read material that more or less support their own world view. That's completely normal. As long there are mainstream media that is about neutral politically biased media, also social media, is not any problem. For instance this channel is biased. Some do like the channel, some don't, but one should look somewhere else to get an objective picture of the world as basis. For instance BBC, if you live in western Europe. I personally find feed algorithms mostly helpful service. But it differs a bit depending on the platform. Sometimes I think it's those unhappy of their lacking power to customer's & voter's minds, and angry of free media, who complain the most about these "evil algorithms".

The US was never "the world's sole superpower" as you claim. If you look at internal affairs the US has had huge problems starting with September 11th, 2001 as one clear example. The fact, that the US failed both in the Middle East and in Afghanistan, is proof that the US never had any dominant role in world policy. Its perceived status is because of EU support, but the EU is weaker than Sahel so who cares? The real winners of the end of the Cold War were CCP china, Japan, India and perhaps France. They were the countries, which ensured that the US never got any real dominance in the world. Probably there are others, but the point is, that your analysis is very incomplete. Your claim that tech companies has more power than any state is wrong for two reasons: - first, tech companies are in competition with each other. They do not have the same interest, - second, tech is a tool not a political entity. Yes, you can limit it or ban it for certain states, but there almost always exist an alternative, so it is not any real power. In short: I completely disagree with you. Which is proof that not even YOU can "manipulate" the opinion of people. We are far more diverse, than you think.

very interesting.... merchants have always held a strong behind-the-scenes role in the history of the world... these corporations are the new merchants of today.... however, in earlier times, gold and silver were used as money... today, merchants use financial instruments which have been grossly manipulated by poor financial discipline. So, one can also argue that all these corporations are running only because of the enormous amount of central bank money printing that defied financial logic.... i.e. they are running on fumes... The corporate bond market is the biggest potential implosion point going forward and would be too big for the US Federal Reserve to save.... Similar to the real estate market in China.... either these markets implode, or inflation causes civil unrest and causes other types of chain reactions...

India and the rest of the world were offering a referendum to the Kashmiris to choose whatever country they want to join (or if they want to remain independent). Read the resolution and you'll understand that the referendum did not take place because PAKISTAN (not India) refused to remove its military from Kashmir. Pakistan is the one illegally occupying Kashmir. India only moved troops into Kashmir when the King of Kashmir whose dynasty had ruled it for centuries, had requested India's help and accepted to become part of India as per the publicly available document titled "Instrument of Accession." India is legally in the right here. And all the relevant documents exist on the internet and offline for ALL to see. Pakistan has yet to point to any legal document that would suggest that it has _any_ claim whatsoever over Kashmir. Pakistan's only refrain is that Kashmiris want to join Pakistan. Yet when India tried to offer Kashmiris a vote on the issue through a UN resolution, Pakistan refused to relent, refused to fulfill the condition mentioned in the UN Resolution 47.
