    As a US Army vet, I have a lot of pride in what our Japanese allies have helped us provide the world. If we are to fight in a war, I'd have a lot of confidence in the future with Japan at our side. If I was given the chance to provide support, and if necessary, my life in defense of Japan and it's people it would be an honor. That would go for the Taiwanese people as well. I truly hope they all stay safe!

    @@Darkstarr-ud2goAs a non American I think it's important to point out that there is a lot more nuance to America's foreign policy than might be considered. America's policy since at least world war 2 has been a global policy that affects basically every country on the planet. It's not just a policy for Americans as the populists of today would want everyone to think. Despite USA having a reputation by some as a warmonger, I think they've probably prevented or prohibited as many conflicts as they've been involved in or started. Definitely stopped more conflicts than they've started, even if they've got involved in a lot. I would say America's involvement has been a net benefit for the world as a whole.

But they have to learn you can’t have limited but protracted wars .. they don’t work … police actions don’t work … for instance c Afghanistan… initially I was for trying to eliminate Al queda and Taliban for their rolls in 9/11 … but when we switched to nation building they lost me … I get the idea, put in a stable democratic country and try to get a viable economy going not a bad thing, but the Stan was having nothing to do with it … winning hearts and minds doesn’t work that often …. Ok, the idea for the autonomous landing craft is both cool and scary how deadly that could be. Not having to protect a live crew, allows for a focus on protecting critical systems, computers, drive motors, gun control, add at least some larger projectile intercept systems and a big gun….. Taking a defended beach still won’t be simple, but it could absolutely be done with zero casualties with that kind of tech.

  • @piolewus

    @piolewus

    19 күн бұрын

    Fair point, but jamming is a very complicated way to disable a drone, especially during battle. Military drones have encrypted signals and to jam them you need a key to get the right frequency. And even if you can do it, they can change the key fairly quickly and you need to start all over again. Additionally you cannot jam an automatic system as it does not take orders by frequencies but by their own programs

  • @scarlettuwu9582

    @scarlettuwu9582

    18 күн бұрын

    Yep, Also, any defensive jamming would theoretically have to compete in signal strength with whatever ship based signal transmissions these would deploy from .. and to do that I believe the jamming transmitter would have to be fairly large, which would then make it a pre-landing target. Drones are definitely going to be scary effective tho, we’ve mostly only seen the effects of air based drones so far, nothing like the proposed capability of these landing craft

  • @DeathlordSlavik

    @DeathlordSlavik

    3 күн бұрын

    @@scarlettuwu9582 Nope both you and the other guy are wrong about jamming as it is fairly simple to make powerful jammers due to the very nature of how jamming works and they can be small while being extremely powerful. Also the other guy implying that encrypted signals make jamming harder is wrong as first encryption doesn't prevent you from finding the frequency being used it just prevents you from reading the information in the signal unless you have the correct decryption key. Second the simplest and most powerful jammers just jam all frequencies meaning you don't even need to know what frequency is being used just need to turn it on. Honestly only negative about using jamming is it makes a easy target for anti-radiation missiles which are usually used against radar or radar jamming equipment but can also be used against powerful communication and communication jamming but that can be easily countered by not having the jammer on all the time and by having multiple jammers that activate and deactivate in a random rotation and in the case of detection of a missile being fired you just turn all the jamming off as anti-radiation missiles just follow the strongest signal they detect so they become harmless if the jammers are deactivated and moving or if you have a decoy available to take the hit instead.

You would be crazy to think that they just happen to store their 'fuel rod processing waste' aka weapons grade Plutonium and weapons grade Uranium in the weight just shy of bomb cores? and i'm sure they have the mechanical part of the bomb ready just drop the cores in, after all a nuke isnt a nuke until the core is in, from a certain point of view. Even today, when I hear Mitsubishi, I automatically go to the Mitsubishi Zero fighter which was an unparalleled dogfighter, right to the end of the war. The Hellfighter and Corsair were both competitive, but, at the expense of defensive items like self sealing fuel tanks and armored pilot seats, the Zero excelled in range and maneuverability to the end. Their shipyard division built the super battleship Musashi, submarines, and other naval vessels. I am an early boomer, so my childhood was dominated by WW II through documentaries such as Victory at Sea and The 20th Century weekly TV show narrated by Crronkite.
