I think the mum is the victim of narcissistic abuse by the older sister and mum. I think she's very loving but the "over shadowing" thing is a shame because it does give them all an excuse to get away with their more covert abuse. Unless you've lived through years of narc abuse, you cannot see why someone would become that upset...I get it!

She thinks she can make demands like SHE'S the bride instead of her daughter. She thinks she's entitled to tell her daughter that she needs to turn her back on family members just because MOM has an issue with them. Daughter has to take her mom's side and "prove" her loyalty to her mom by going NC with People that didn't even hurt daughter personally. Mom doesn't want a daughter, she wants an ally or allies, she wants to surround herself with people that validate her 100% in being the poor, innocent victim so she can tell herself that she's the victim and that she's 100% right. Even worse: she does all that and she's mad and upset that she's not invited? She's telling her daughter that she can't invite certain People to HER OWN WEDDING and mom is wondering why her daughter doesn't include her? "The mother of the bride should be respected"? Respect is EARNED, not demanded lady.

I feel so bad for the daughter. I cant imagine my child doing anything that would cause me to say ONE of those things to her EVER!

I pray that this young woman has in laws that are kind and supportive of her and her marriage to her son.

This woman is a nut case! Calls herself the scapegoat of the family....right....any woman that will tell their own child you wished they'd die is no mother at all. SHE is the reason her family is 'against' her. They have to be against her for their own safety, sanity and emotional well-being.

I’m so glad you could get out of that. I remember being in a relationship where the guy would say “if you left I wouldn’t know what I would do. You’re my last hope, I would k*ll myself if you leave me.” I’m so glad I could get out of that relationship and he seemed sweet but that’s how those people get to you.

There's a lot more to being a mother than the act of birth. She appears to be incapable of listening and incapable of love.

This mother seems like a nightmare!

It takes respect to get respect I've been in this situation with my own mom I was at the point that I did not want her at my wedding at all but she decided to come anyhow and put on a show to to make it look like she was fine. But beforehand she was out of control and putting me down. I hope for the sake of this young lady that she can either either fixed the relationship with her mom or move on without her because it's not gonna be an easy road I can tell or tell you that right now from experience experience I actually have had to give up a relationship with my mom. For my own mental health issues.

Why do psycho mothers with psychotic behaviors always say someone else “turned their child against them”? My mother is psycho. I hate her. I don’t talk to her. She’s always claimed it’s my ex boyfriends through the years and father who’s been divorced from her for almost two decades who’s turned me against her. My ex boyfriends and father literally never talk about her. She doesn’t exist to them. Her and her behavior alone is what turned me against her. 18 years of dealing with a psycho selfish explosive narcissist is what turned me against her. I hate her.
