It's amazing how someone can dissect AND explain things that we see everyday but can't put into practice. Sir, you're more than a professor, you're an awesome translator of effectiveness into reality.

As an entirely self-trained pond hockey skater with 38 years hockey experience, I never *thought* about skating at all. Even after becoming a solid hockey player and, if I do say so myself, excellent skater, I learn something new all the time watching your shorts. Thanks much for sharing, and I will always be thinking of these in my own coaching!

Average 38 years hockey player who started late. I remember seeing this video 7 months ago. Each time I went skating with kids in the summer, I practice mohawks and backwards crossover. Having difficulty with step 3 but so far it helped my game so much just to learn basic mohawks. Thanks again !

Everyone of these videos helps me dissect my own game and give some advice to my son, perfect explanation and demonstration. We have our first camp booked with Sean Walker next month for 3 days and we are eager to see what information he can download into my sons game.

How do we feel about this technique as a defenseman where a turnover has caused the puck carrier to come back our way? Wouldn't this cause us to briefly turn our back to them?

I'm trying to learn hockey at an older age..56... I can skate pretty good but not like this .. I'd love to be able to do these mowhawk transitions . He makes it look effortless. How hard is it to get the hang of that?

Most underutilized skating motion in hockey, needs to be taught more it’s a unreal skating mechanic

It's absolutely possible! The best workouts you can do off the ice are to increase your quickness in both your hands and feet. Get faster. The best NHL players have freakishly strong legs. Turn those legs into tree trunks and you'll be fast and hard to move, that will go a long way. Cardio is important but is still overrated in comparison to strength and speed because of shifts.
