Why the Ferrari 360 is a special car to me
Hey guys, so a lot is going on behind the scenes with the CNC Motors stuff. I still DO NOT have the title. But I don’t want to talk about all that today. Instead, I thought it would be fun to show why I even like this car enough to fight so hard for it.
I didn’t even know what a sports car was before the age of 10.
I just remember driving around with my family in the big station wagon and not thinking about transportation or cars or anything. But then my dad took me to my very first race and at Sears point back in the day, which is now called Sonoma raceway and I saw my very first Ferrari whipping around the track against some other amazing super cars. I was 19 and had a brand new 1999 Mazda Miata and thought I was super cool and I loved touring my local canyon roads. I’ve heard of Ferrari, but never actually seen one in real life. And KZread or even the internet wasn’t really a thing back then. If you were interested in cars, your parents had to get you a subscription to Road and Track or some other popular car magazine. When I saw a rare car back then, I’d go home and would grab your camera to take a photo and share with your friends a week later at school after it came back from the photo lab. So these exotic super cars really were a treat to see if you happen to be at the right place and time.
I was enjoying the warm sun and potent exhaust fumes and walking around the track with my dad. And then I saw the most most beautiful red Ferrari 360 Modena with tan leather interior. It was like a space ship. So modern, yet classic curves that Ferrari was known for.
It was totally unattainable with a price point of over $140,000, I knew there was more to cars than I ever thought of.
I was drawn to the prancing horse brand and how Enzo Ferrari was able to turn his Italian race cars into something a successful consumer could buy, one day.
The Ferrari brand has always been fascinating to me due to it’s rich heritage. A lot of average motorists don’t know that the SF on the Ferrari badge stands for Scuderia Ferrari. Which is the name of their racing division. The English translation means Ferrari stable. In fact, Enzo wasn’t even interested in making consumer cars back in 1929 when he founded the team. But racing is incredibly expensive and he needed revenue coming in his consumer cars to help fund the team. And I guess, that’s what drove my passion for my own company. Focus on what makes me be the best I what I do, and the clients who see that will follow and appreciate the time it takes to do my craft.
Lately with the stress of the CNC stuff, work and life it means a lot when I get to be around my friends and create some fun content together. The amount of pressure I’ve been under over the past 5 months has really been interfering with being creative. When we saw what a beautiful day it was to film outside, it was worth taking the car out for a few hours to shoot it.

I need you to remove the CNC Motors license plate frame 🙁
Thanks for Sharing, I'm 64 now and remember the 1st Ferrari I Saw A 308 GTS .
This belongs on Hagerty, thanks for sharing your passion. I genuinely hope the CNC crap gets sorted.
This was pretty damn good.
great video - nice to see the 360 getting exposure as its my favorite Ferrari. You got the perfect spec.
We all get so caught up with daily life and paying bills that we forget about our passions. This video alone has brought out the 5 year old car geek in that was put to sleep so long ago. Keep pushing bro!
There is light at the end of the tunnel and remembering why you bought your dream car like this will help keep you focused and positive. Chin up buddy.
This was a pretty fantastic video, great job!
Top class production in this video, well done.
Great video. Loved the genius of changing off the CNC crap. And damn what a great looking car.
360 still looks better than any new Ferrari...I need one!

I agree! I wish the new models had more curves.
One dislike? Clay is watching. Great Video Matt!
The 360 often gets overlooked but is quite probably the best looking of the V8s. Still looks fresh with those clean lines and big swathes of red uncontaminated by all the fussy over-styled elements present on todays Ferraris.
Thank you Matt for a great video! I recently purchased a 2001 F1 360 Spider and I can relate to everything you just said. In fact, I traded in my GT-R R35, so have downgraded big time on power, but made up on so many other areas. For me, it's no longer about how fast I can get to 100 km/h, but rather how I get there - the full experience of getting there. And to be honest, the 360 is still actually fast enough.
I'm so happy for your and I hope that you get this resolved. Keep up the grind! I cant wait for this nightmare to be over for you!
dude, my dream car is 360
My dream car Matt! Thank you for showing your passion.
Love your story Matt! Keep the faith, we’re all pulling for you!
thanks for sharing. it's unfortunate all of the headache and stress this has caused you and so many others. hopefully, it will work itself out and you get to put this behind you soon. I subscribed to your channel hoping to see future videos of the car and your journey with owning a beautiful car such as this. I had not been a Ferrari follower but now I'm rethinking it due to your story and your passion for it. Thanks again and good luck.
Excellent video, the 360 Modena is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed, a true work of art. Just subscribed and glad you have it home..... positive vibes sent your way to sort out the remaining issues.

Great video Matt!
The first time I saw the spider was in the Movie BE COOL..the color of spider was Yellow.. if I could afford this Ferrari that would be the car for me.
Hope to buy one by the end of the year Matt. Enjoy dude
Hi Matt - I was on the phone with R.P. at Ferrari Parts a couple of weeks back and the CNC situation came up in conversation. Quite coincidentally, you and your car were out in the parking lot of his shop at exactly the same time. He called you in and we spoke briefly on speakerphone - - I was the weird guy from NC who said that I'd give you a hug if I were there in person ;-) Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm rooting for a quick and satisfactory resolution to your situation so that you can get back to enjoying the car as you had imagined it. Mine should be delivered later this week and I'm feeling exactly the same sense of excitement & pride that you captured in the video. Cheers!

Dang! I would totally give you a hug lol
Amazing video!
That was great
Why is your CNC plate frame still on after all this fiasco? haha.
Wow! Feel for ya man! You will always be a VIP @supercarsbythesea
Great video. Just wondering why you keep the CNC plater frame on the car?
gotta take off that cnc license plate frame and go office space on it.. would be a good video :)
At some point you will be able to move on - your positive attitude will make it happen. The transmission problem highlighted in your earlier videos, should be easy to overcome and the shift issue is very basic. In the UK, with the large Ferrari community and great network of independent specialists, it would be easy to overcome I am sure. I am not a technician, an enthusiast like you, so my comments may not apply in the US. Hopefully the issues will not be with the ECU, perhaps make contact with AV Engineering in the UK a highly respected specialist here (hope I can mention them on YT without upsetting their minders. Good luck.
Still rocking the CNC Motors license plate frame?
When everything gets sorted out you should think about straight piping it
You were better off with the Miata.
Deep,
360 is a great entry level Ferrari to start your hobby with. I know from experience. And the day you trade to the top of the foodchain and get a 458... that is the thing to live for! I hope you get there someday after this car is sorted out!
That 🍋 is gonna be the end of you.
I love the 360 and had considered one but the engine out service expenses scared me away.
