@@JoeySoul the 2017 warriors were better, but also they were “cheaters.” There was no conceivable universe where a healthy warriors team wouldn’t win the chip in 2017. While they are technically a better team than the 96 Bulls, the legacy of the 96 bulls will be remembered forever, while the 2017 warriors will be remembered in infamy. For that matter, that’s the same reason I take Jordan over Lebron. Lebron is technically the better player. But Jordan’s legacy is far greater than Lebron’s

Whenever I see people talking about the Bulls they elevate them ... But as soon as we talk about Lebron and MJ, people start acting like the Bulls weren't as good😅 Btw I don't want to start that debate, I just wanted to share this thought of mine

People pretend Wade wasn't a top 3player in 2011 and top 5 player in 2012. They pretend AD wasn't a top 5 player in 2020 and ignore he arguably had a bigger impact than Bron in the playoffs based on a few metrics. They also pretend Pippen was a top 3 or even top 5 player in those title years (at most only 1 season did he reach only 5th place during title years, usually was 6-9th best). On the flip side, some people pretend the Bulls had no one and that Pippen wasn't even a top 10 player.

@@Homer-OJ-Simpson I totally agree... people just mention the Lebron part and pretend the same or worst wasn't happening for MJ The Bulls were the Superteam of that era.

@@JustN0tMe "super team" is often thought of stars getting together to form one. For the most part, the Bulls were natural grown talent. With the exception of the KD years, GSW are also not such a superteam. Nor the 80's celtics or lakers.

I find it interesting that this team is ‘the greatest’ but the sonics had a very real chance at beating them and no one talks abt the sonics anymore

2017 GSW gets mentioned a lot. I think Bulls are the better for these reasons: 1. Bulls had more wins and higher SRS than GSW 2. Bulls had a bigger differential in wins and SRS compared to 2nd place in their respective seasons (Bulls +8w, +4.40SRS; GSW +6, +4.20SRS) 3. Even looking at only games both KD & Curry played, they were 49-11 or 66.9 win pace, the same as their 67w they actually got 4. SRS doesn't take into account pace. Per 100 SRS, 96 Bulls would be 13.0 & 17GSW would be 11.4 SRS/100poss GSW did play a better in the playoffs, mostly due to the Bulls losing 2 straight in the finals when up 3-0. Up that that point, the Bulls also only had one loss in playoffs.

For 96, yes. But it's also because other players can easily fit around Jordan. A lot of top players aren't winning a title with that team if the replace Jordan. The 96 Bulls team didn't have a lot of offensive weapons. Rodman was basically a negative on offense. Longly at center was an average offensive center. Harper was below average offensive player for a 'point guard'. Pippen was a good 2nd scorer but not exceptional. He was good enough to help offset a lot of the weaknesses of the other 3 starts on offense. So that team needed a high volume efficient scorer. And that was Jordan per 75 of 31.9pts -1.07rTS%. On offense where they did get help was the bench .Usually Pippen would be on the court with the bench (they staggered jordan/pippen minutes) and you would have Kukoc and Kerr. Despite just having an average offensive talent in their other 4 starters as a whole (excluding MJ), with the bench and with MJ's game they were able to have the highest ORTG of the league. Defensively is where the team did shine more up and down the roster. Pip & Jordan were top 5 defensive players, Rodman was still top 10 defensive players + versatility and best rebounder, Harper was a good defensive player. Longley was average on defense but didn't hurt the team..

Interesting fact, the Bulls were 5-0 that year without Pippen.

@@Homer-OJ-SimpsonAll you have said is correct, but it just buttresses my point even more. MJ had an incredibly stacked roster for his 2nd 3-peat. Also one minor nitpick, Rodman was not a Top Ten Defensive player. He was a Top 5 defensive player (1st Team All Defense) as well as the rebounding champion.
