    @@amirbohdana1866 the strike is stiffer feeling and more whippy through the air. The stiffness to me feels slightly more powerful and I think the ball contact is more direct. I prefer the strike for most players unless you have a specific love for head or need something softer.

    I have played Yonex frames. They are stable because the center 8 main strings are approximately the same length thanks to the rectangular Isometric head shape. Also, the widest part of the frame is at the 3 and 9 o'clock parts of the racquet head. They are quality frames though I am not a fan of the grip shape. Your assessment was excellent. Thank-you!

    Thanks for the excellent review as always! Currently using this racket and although I love it, it would be nice to have something more comfortable as the Ezone gives me moderate arm pain after playing (even with multi at 48 lbs) and that gives me a bit more control that this Yonex. Within my “imaginary demo” list I have Blade 98 v8 16x19, Head Extreme Tour, Head Speed MP (and previously Pure Strike and PAVS though having arm issues with the Ezone maybe not the best idea). Which ones would you recommend among these for me to try next with priority? Any other racquets? (I am an aggresive baseliner, with one handed backhand - mostly play on clay courts). Thanks so much!

    There will be a transition period. The Clash 100 is very easy to play with and still quite rewarding. I would only make the switch if you feel like you need more stability and control when playing bigger hitters. If you find either the racquet shakes in your hand against hard shots or you regularly over hit approach shot you know you should be able to deal with, the the switch to the EZONE 98 will be very profitable.

    It plays very predictably and pretty much always delivers the spin/direction/depth that I want in most situations. Or the Yonex Ezone 98 is a better racket anyway? (I’m an advanced player, that plays with modern handle and hits few spin shots). You may also like Gravity MP/Tour or even the Prestige S/Tour. • @CourtsideSportsLTD

    @CourtsideSportsLTD

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@NachoMontamat The standard EZONE 98 has lots of room for customization. It's quite headlight and has a low swingweight compared to it's competitors. If you are coming from a 295g racquet it might feel like a bit of a jump, but as you keep playing with the racquet you'll get stronger and it could be good for your game long term. Customize by adding a few grams at a time and remember things will get worse before they get better. Just be patient. Optional Story: When I was 20, I was in this rut with my game. An old rival from my junior days had just returned from playing D1 college tennis and he was crushing me. Turned out all I needed was a racquet change from a stock Aeropro Drive to a Yonex SV95. Overtime, the more weight I added, the easier it was to keep up with his pace and generate my own power.

  • @CourtsideSportsLTD

    @CourtsideSportsLTD

    3 жыл бұрын

    The EZone is more maneuverable. It has a lower swing weight and a lower static weight, and it's frame cuts through the air nicely. The only thing the VCore Pro 97 has an advantage in is it's thin beam. I think it's easier to be constent with the Ezone because it is more forgiving on off centre shots. If you feel like you need quite a bit of control, because you overhit or have a very high swing speed, the VCore Pro may be better. It offers much more control than the EZone, but it won't give you much for free when you play defense etc.

    The launch angle on the Ezone 98 is WAY more manageable than the Extreme MP. I had the same issues with my forehand as you did. You'll be down on power and spin though. The Ultra 100 is the best combination of controllable launch angle and powerful forgiveness that I have tried. Definitely worth a look as it is a completely different racquet than last year's model.

    Yeah the 2018 verison is a lot stiffer and this leads so some inconsistencies across the string bed. Mainly the upper hoop feels quite jarring and has a tendency to launch the ball in my experience. The 2020 is must plusher, but also more muted and controllable.

    How much of an adjustment period have you given yourself? If i remember, this is 10g heavier than your old racquet? As a 4.0, your technique should be able to handle 305g racquet if you give yourself time to adjust. Worse case scenario you can get the lighter 285g version and add some weight in the handle to spec it up.

  • @CourtsideSportsLTD

    @CourtsideSportsLTD

    4 жыл бұрын

    The 100 is going to be quite a bit more powerful. The higher swingweight, bigger headsize, thicker beam and stiffer frame on the 100 are all going promote power and spin. The string pattern on the 100 is a bit more open so the launch angle is slightly higher, resulting in less feelings of control. Both feel very solid and comfortable, but the 98 is slightly softer and sweeter feeling. If you are more advanced or you play more aggressively, the 98 will be better. If you like to counter punch or need more versatility/an easier frame to use, the 200 will be better.
