I have used both the EZone 98 and VCore 98. I ended up choosing the EZone 98 because the feel is much more plush, easier on the wrist and arm. I am able to hit through the ball more effortlessly. I had a sore wrist for several days after playing with the VCore. Both racquets were strung with a monofilament around 50 pounds. The VCore felt more stiff compared to Ezone. Swinging the VCore, the racquet cuts through the air very fast and does take getting use to. Using the EZone, it's clear to see why it is one of the best racquets on the market today.

I use both v core 100 (2020) & the latest e zone 2021. The e zone is a lot powerful. The v core is good for top spin, but the e zone is flat out powerful and un compromising in stroke delivery. If you can swing well, the e core 100 can deliver the blow. I don't see much of a difference in 98 / 100 sq inch. Selection of the string is very important and will also determine how the stroke or the game will play out. The finish and quality of construction of these Japanese beauties are mesmerising. I love the attention to detail.

Hey thanks! Sadly I can't get my hands on a demo of the Aero VS, although that racquet is very interesting to me. The Pure Aero has a very open string pattern and a thick beam. This means the launch angle is higher, the spin is better and there is more power. The VCore feels a lot more control oriented and plows through the ball a bit better. I;d pick the VCore simply because I prefer a more control oriented racquet, however if you can harness the spin and power from the Pure Aero, you can do a lot of damage

The Extreme Tour sits neatly between these two. It has the control and speed of the Ezone, with the spin and plow of the VCore. It's a great racquet and my current favourite. The Extreme series as a whole feels a lot more raw and generally less solid than the Yonex's. Spin on average is on par with the VCORE line.

There is one problem for me that I can’t really find out but it feels less powerful, like I can’t do the same swings with the Ezone as with the pure Aero, no matter how hard I try, so maybe this is something I can fix with Lead tape or something? I really wanna love the Ezone but hopefully this is something I can fix. Do you have any recommendations other than maybe lead tape? And if lead tape where on the racquet would you put it? The current version has much better control and precision than the previous version. I found the previous one to have hotspots on the string bed, occasionally causing the ball to launch unpredictably. This was especially common higher up in the string bed where contact could also sometimes be jarring. I suspect this is the result of a hoop that was much stiffer than the rest of the racquet. The current version has a much more consistent flex which makes it feel a lot more reliable. This is coming from someone who used the VCore 95 for years, so control is definitely a priority for me.

Head changed the way the measured Head size a few years ago, so your old Radical MP was actually a 95, measured in the conventional manner (measured from inside the hoop). A lot of the differences between 98's and 100's also comes from the increased beam width on 100's. Thicker beams also contribute heavily to forgiveness and power. The Microgel Radical were very low powered, so even a modern 98 will feel a lot easier to use. My favourites are the EZone 98 and Extreme Tour

Great reviews! I’m an intermediate player that has been using Pure Aero for many years. Recently I feel that Pure Aero gives me too easy spin and power even if I don’t use the correct swing. It feels like it’s “cheating” me. I would like to improve my techniques. I’m thinking about switching to a more control oriented racquet to “teach” me good techniques. I recently demoed many racquets and narrowed down to Ezone 98, Vcore 98 and Blade 16x19. Which one do you think is the best choice for my situation? Or should I switch at all? @@asnveggie yes. I considered some of the Ezone Tour scores when making the Ezone scores. I try consider what racquets would be cross shopped in stock form. When scoring the Ezone Tour, I'm think about how it compares to racquets of a similar weight, prostaff, Gravity, strike Tour. 6 is probably a bit low, but part of the reason for the low score was the poor maneuverability. I just couldn't accelerate the racquet enough to penertrate the court with any consistency. Likewise, I'm scoring the Ezone 98 against 98 sqin 305g racquets as well as important racquet for cross shoppers, like the Pure Drive, the Speed Pro The scores are subjective, and imperfect by nature. Hi David, I'll answer you other question here as well. The Pure Drive family feels a lot muted and disconnected than the Ezone 98 family. All racquets feel solid, but the Ezones offer more direct response. The Ezones also make you work harder than the Pure Drives. It's harder to generate pace and penetrate the court with the Ezones. I struggled with maneuverability on the Ezone Tour more than most racquets of the same weight including the Pure Drive Tour. Spin is better on Pure Drives, but slice is worse.

Two weeks ago I was doubting a lot between one racket and another. I had the opportunity to test both models for two weeks. They are two incredible rackets. At first I was going to stick with the ezone because it seems to me that it gives you almost everything that a racket can offer you. It has very good hitting sensations, enough power and great control. After trying the ezone for a week, I got the vcore. At first I didn't like it so much because it felt too dry. As the days go by you get used to that feeling and when you hit the ball you really feel that the ball goes off with a lot of power. I had to adjust the tension somewhat to get the control I wanted. I finally got the vcore, it gives me a lot of power, control and has better maneuverability than the ezone. So I kept the vcore. I would like to say that I played with a fist size L3 on my volkl and with this Yonex I went down to L2 because the L3 felt thicker than on my volkl
