After completing this video, I felt I had just scratched the surface of everything Singapore offers visitors. I hope to come back in the future and do a "Deep Dive" on more places. Singapore has so much, and I want to learn more. Even though I made some errors in these two Singapore videos, I hope that I added a little bit more knowledge about this amazing country than not. Thanks to everyone who viewed my two-day experience and gave me positive comments and likes.

I appreciate you letting me know it was post-update! The Merlion is such an iconic symbol of Singapore, I'm glad I got to see it after the maintenance.

Singaporean here. Every time i watch your video, I learned a new thing or two. I didn't know about Sir Stamford Raffles choosing between his wife and Singapore haha. Nice video work there and thank you for visiting my country.

The 'Mer' in Merlion is from the mystcal fish Mermaid....so Merlion is a combination of the head of a lion and the body of a mermaid.

The casino isn’t on top of Marina Bay Sands. It’s in the bowels of the building. On the top is an observation deck, restaurants and an infinity swimming pool (the pool is open only to hotel guests). The debate about the casino raged on before the Sands opened. The decision was made to have it (and the other casino as well) as an integrated resort with shops, restaurants, theatres and the casino was just a part of it. Also, to limit the allure of gambling, Singaporeans need to pay a fee to enter the casino, either per entry or per annum. Singapore was never Kota Singa. It was (and is) Singapura. “Singa” being lion and “pura” being city in Sanskrit. A shame this tour happened after your walkabout in the earlier video or you might have picked up on your tour guide’s correct pronunciation of “quay” here. But I have heard other Americans who have not come across this work before. Must be a British thing. Surrey Quay in London and Circular Quay in Sydney, Aus. I hope you managed to go into the Cloud Forest. I feel it’s better than the Flower Dome. And the Garden Rhapsody light show at night is a must!

I appreciate your feedback, Melvin. I learned a lot and speculated too, but now I know more about Singapore. I hope that the people of this fantastic place will overlook my ignorance in some things but realize I learned so much and appreciate Singaporeans and your prosperous history even more.
