I cant believe i didn’t get to watch this interview sooner like 16-17 years sooner, if i had my thesis on Asian studies would have scored better marks😁 A powerful interview indeed, as usual the founding father of Singapore was very shrewd in the way he managed Singapore. He was a born leader and manager combined and it’s hard to find such talented person like him. The things he said about China,Japan, America and Europe are all come to light. If he’s still alive today what would he have commented about today’s issues, i wonder🤔

Although Mr.Lee was an anti-colonialist, he ginuely gave a good advice to American about their hubris right here. He say that America was ahead, but soon the scale will tip in 20 years. Now in 2021, that couldn't be more true. He say we should co-exist and respect eachothers to be prosperous. We can teach eachother and learn from eachother. Being an adversaries doesn't mean we can't also be an allies and both profits. Yet, during the last 5-6 years both Americans and Chinese are getting further and further away from eachther, and both of their economies are slowing down. Be it the fear of American that don't want to let Chinese taking over their place, or the fear of Chinese that westerners would back stab them if they're too vulnerable. It's 19/9/2021 now. With the threat of Corona virus and downfall of traveling economies, each countries took a hit all the same. To recover, and prosper, maybe they need to take a step back and try to change the course of their decision during the past 5 years.

China is partly to blame for the deteriorating relationship. They became predatory and aggressive in their economic policies, openly challenging to overtake the US. China is too overly ambitious. It is a pity because a positive relationship between US and China will be most beneficial for the progress of mankind.
