Why Sibling Relationships Are So Important | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Sibling relationships are a unique blend of camaraderie and competition, fostering bonds that last a lifetime. They offer companionship, support, and shared memories. They also shape one's identity and social skills. Quirks abound, from playful teasing to heated debates, yet they strengthen understanding and tolerance. On April 10, the U.S. celebrated National Siblings Day to honor this bond. But it is not the only country with such a celebration. Europe celebrates Brothers and Sisters day on May 31. India has Raksha Bandhan in the month of August every year. Such celebrations remind us to cherish the laughter, fights, and secrets shared with our siblings. What does research say about sibling relationships? What makes them so enduring and special? Palki Sharma tells you.

Hahaha - Well said learned later in life.. It’s like “Knowing the world after white hair comes in head”… Learned in life “Don’t trust anyone - meaning anyone for that matter”… Live your dreams - Achieve your dreams - live your life on your terms with adhering society norms”… If anyone feels that you’re on right track for yourselves - then go ahead not listening to anyone or any negatives even from your own family members be it a siblings or relatives, sometimes parents too depends..

Bad parenting makes this happen and most importantly if the kids witnessed such from their own parents so never talk nonsense about your brother and sister too. If your parents weren't biased then both will take lightly and share it without a fuss.

That's why its parents responsibility to share their property to children without taking consent from elder children. But unfortunately siblings relationship ruined in the name of their carelessness.
Yes I agree, friends are important part of life but Siblings are 'Real Best Friends' in life because friends are chosen by us but siblings are pre- chosen for us and hence the bond formed is totally natural
We are four sisters and we had a whale of a time as we grew up together side by side. We played together, prayed together, ate together and loved each other immensely. Sometimes we fought, squabbled, called each other names and finally became friends again and always stood up for one another. Now we are leading separate lives in our marital homes , yet at any given time, we are " All for one and one for all."
Any ONLY child attendance 😢😢😢

Ending note about borrowing clothes got me good and I laughed out loud. Me and my brother share a beautiful bond and he's been my guardian angel.
Not only sbiling relationships, Every relationship is important part of life.
In a world of one and done and none and Done,some of us chose to have two Children.while we respect other's choices, we must say, sibling bond is healthy and parents cant replace a brother or a sister.

The dynamics are not same in every sibling relationship. Depending on same gender or mixed gender siblings, the bond is stronger or weaker. It also depends on how parents treat their children without giving too much attention to one of the child, making the other child jealous.
Fighting bond is strong 😅
Ofcourse we are lucky We share our feelings each other If u wish or not..u learn sharing...without siblings we cant enjoy our childhood💙
I cant imagine my life without my 2 brothers and around 54 first cousins। It is just fin fun and more fun when we all meet। I thank my grand parents for having 8 or 9 children and giving me a biggg famiy witb lots of love and funny fights।
Very very true. Lucky to have them
Your conclusion statements will be really entertaining and thought heavy always
Most cases in courts are with brother and sisters for properties. Parents struggle to raise them for their selfish needs in old-age but forget that they are making a platform to fight with each other . We can't even distribute one glass of water evenly between two . Always girl child are sufferers, they won't send them good school or good carrier oportunity. This question to all parents, if you have only one laddu whom you will give whether it is first child or second child . Nobody will b satisfied if given half ... Most choose male child not female child but morning to evening patith dialogues will be spoken.textbook is different reality different...

No! While its okay you don't have a sibling, but happiest really ? And feeling proud about it ? Sad really

0:28 rakshaa bandhan is the OG one, all others are appropriation, and the saddest thing is, they're doing it without even crediting the origin.
Some got Laxman type others have Kans and kaurav type brothers. Depands on destiny.
After my father’s passing I returned with my family to take care of my mother and family. The siblings created disputes in the house through my mother, long story short, I am now divorced and my former wife suffers depression.
So true the ending
👏👏👏👏
There will be no meaning of siblings in future as most couples are having only 1 kid nowadays.
The last line is so true!! 😂😂
Household is the smaller version of the world. If can't even get along and learn conflict resolutions growing up with our family, with strong family ties, how do we expect ourselves to get along and have good relationships with other people with whom we have no blood relation? Relationships with family is the fundamental or the most basic of every relationship we will ever encounter in lifetime. Most people who can't get along and don't have good relationships with their family members will also don't have good relationships with anyone period.
Great content💟

If ur mum or dad keep on oscillating between u and ur sibling after u r 18 be warned..there is more to it than meets the eye. Please take decisions based on what is good for u rather than getting too much emotional with oscillating parents

@upasanasarma5870 we even had paused our lucrative overseas career to be near aging elders. And then we were witness to constant tick tock tick tock. It best to clarify everything before taking any major decisions involving aging parents. People nowadays tend to value independence and privacy over emotional attachments specially in metro cities.
@cloweeist

Can u elaborate pls..do u mean parents showing favouritism
@mosmae
11 күн бұрын
@cloweeist Parents in old age nowadays have option between kid1 , kid2 , staying independent. Whatever option they choose they need to be very transparent about it and not keep everyone involved guessing. Many parents are unable to choose between two or more of their kids. This lack of planning leaves many involved vulnerable. Please read between lines as these are delicate matters that r usually never discussed openly. Favoritism is part of every parents control mechanism. Most kids don't take it seriously once they cross 18yrs of age.
I am not fortunate enough I have an elder brother who never talks to me. 😭 I feel very bad about it. I tried many times but never got a positive response from him.

Idk, people are cynical in this comment section, you need to realise upbringing plays lot of role how your relationship with your sibling gonna end up. Not all sibling monsters when they become adult. If you got one i feel sorry for you.
IT'S ODD THAT EVERY FRIEND I KNOW WHO HAD SIBLINGS FOUGHT DAILY NOT LITERALLY BUT ARGUED AND YELLED AT FREQUENTLY. IN OUR FAMILY NOT ONCE DID WE EVER DO ANY OF THIS. ALTHOUGH OUR PARENTS WOULD HAVE NEVER PUT UP WITH THIS IN ANY CASE!!
