Literature is great power, no matter Arabic, Persian, Chinese or Indian . I think we new people need to keep in touch with it❤

My dad used to read it to me as a bedtime story and I still love it... No doubt I will read it to my childrens as well..when I will have one😂

32 years ago I wandered into an antique book store in Simla and there was the entire 1st edition set of the Burton translation of The Thousand Nights and One Night. As published by the British explorers club. All for the bargain price of 5000USD. Anyway couldn’t really afford it lol but the proprietor of the bookshop kindly allowed me to look through it. And we wound up having quite a pleasant conversation….

I'm from Mauritius and we've grown up reading les milles et une nuit. It has definitely shaped my individuality and creativity. You're very jovial by the way.

I don't know if you'll see this (hopefully you will) but you said not to read Burton's translation and I'm having a hard time choosing what version of Arabian nights should I read. I saw Burton's 2011 translation and the reviews aren't that good.

@@basawarajmulawad4056 tejaswi is my favorite author. Karvalho, chidambara Rahasya, Jugari Cross etc., you could read any of them. I enjoyed them very much. You could also pick up novels by shivaram karanth. His works are awesome.

I wished so much that you be my Shehrazad, but with a slower tempo. 1001 nights, to be really appreciated, should be read in arabic, as the songs, etc have their own rhythm. A visit to old Istambul and old Cairo will greatly help. 1001 night is in fact, a book of philosophy and not for bed time children stories, but good for new couples.
