Why she just played all of you

New Jeans creator and Ador CEO Min hee-jin launched an emergency press conference to defend herself after her parent company, Hybe, filed criminal charges with the police. In a rambling, incoherent presentation lasting over two hours, Min lashed out at company executives but couldn't answer key questions with a straightforward response. Many have been fooled by her histrionics and crying. But notice how most of the time her tears were dry, dry tears? In her over-the-top presentation, she actually confessed to key details that connect the remaining dots on her recently discovered secret plot to blackmail Hybe to create her own entertainment rival.

The reason why international fans arent buying it is because in America crying and carrying on during a press conference will illicit NO sympathy from us. It makes you look nuts. That type of behavior is considered childish, whiny, and hysterical. The idea of a person crying and cussing and you are a high level business person is seen as unintelligent and unstable. We are like, if she acts like this all the time then perhaps she shouldn't be at that High level in Hybe in the first place! She cant handle the pressure. I am floored koreans fell for this. My biggest problem with her is the way she speaks about the girls (NewJeans). All of it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth, like why is this 40 something year old talking about her employees like she is their mom? Especially considering that one of them is basically still a child, it's so freaking weird. And let´s be really honest here, if a man sat on stage and started talking about how the minors he employs call him late at night crying because they love him so much and cant see him “suffer” people would be up in arms, rightfully so. This “mother” role she pushes is so disgusting, lady you are their boss act accordingly.

In an inappropriate way. She has manipulated and skewed their thinking to her own benefit. They already have parents. She is their manager who is one of their bosses. She only owns 18% of Ador but is trying to manipulate her way into a fast and generous payout and takeover control of the company. She probably tried this to a lesser degree at her former company. Her teary K drama 'performance" during the lengthy press conference, while being underdressed for the occasion, was under whelming. Moreover, being caught illegally accessing confidential data from Hybe, serves to show how she is deceitful, envious & thinks that she is somehow equal to Bang Hysuk. This is absurd. She can start her own management company from the ground up the way Bang PD did. If New Jeans wants to go with her despite her dishonest, illegal & inappropriate actions, let them go with her. Her legal bills will eat away at her. @@elaineso810

That’s why she likes really young trainees because it’s easier for her to manipulate them to completely rely on her and believe she is the sole reason for everything they have. It’s so disgusting how she talks about having a relationship with them beyond anyone’s imagination. Lady, the only relationship you should have with them is a professional one. I can even understand that she does love them as they are really sweet girls who are talented. But if she truly cared about them, she wouldn’t talk about them in this way or say how they are having a hard time because of what’s happening to her. She is dragging them into the mud with her and it’s not right because they are innocent.

My biggest take away from this MHJ-Hybe amd SM-Hybe-Kakao battel is that majority of K-pop fans have 0 idea about corporate governance and laws. The 50-50 issue also shows how much these people don't understand contract and agreement and even something simple as return on investment. I get not everyone has business degree but common sense and critical thinking doesn't require a degree. She came and said a bunch of nonsense and managed to make people hate Illit, Lessafirm, BTS and Namjoon and successfully diverted attention to Bang PD. Unfortunately these tactics only work on senseless people but doesn't work in court. If Hybe does have strong evidence then she will face not only charges but also punishment.

Looking at KakaoTalk's timeline, Hybe suddenly prepared for Le Seraphim while NJ members had already been selected and prepared. And she has no authority in the first place. She has no authority to select trainees. If she says she doesn't like Bang PD, there's nothing she can do. It was canceled when covid broke out. Until now, we were preparing with trainees selected by Min Hee-jin. However, after covid, Source Music itself created a girl group to compete against ive. Because ive gained immense popularity as soon as they debuted. So suddenly hybe scouted izone members. The personal fandom of izone members is huge. That's why the trainees chosen by Min Hee-jin were neglected. So Hybe's first girl group that was promised to Min Hee-jin also came out. From there, Min Hee-jin must have been very angry. The trainees chosen by Min Hee-jin, who knew they would become Hybe's first girl group, must have been shocked. So, Ador was founded and NJ debuted. It is not correct to say that Minhee Jin stole her trainee.

A pathetic comment from a seriously clueless person. Her whole conference was a hot mess of emotion and mud slinging as distractions from the core problem- leaking company information and professional malpractice. The company although not perfect was far too generous and their statement today made perfect sense. People might not like Hybe and don’t have to. They certainly aren’t saints but at the end of the day think about it… she was given the top floor, top ranking positions, big time investment, trainees, own label, own phoning app, resources and contacts as well as 20% stocks at a bargain ($800 000). That’s insane and all within a few years period. It makes zero sense to come strongly against her on trivial issues. If she wanted her own label so much and to be independent (which she is so quick to brag about on how she was made offers), why didn’t she do it when she left SM? We know why. She needed the big money Hybe has. Plagiarism in the greater scheme of things regarding this matter is a weak excuse. I wonder why people aren’t talking about her weird references about Minji and Haerin during the conference and how she cried with members about the situation. She is a CEO! She should remain professional and not drag the artists into the mess. The woman can’t even dress her age. It’s bizarre the way she is always around the group like she is the flipping 6th member. If she was been trully honest, she would have assumed her wrongdoings, but she basically said she did NOTHING wrong. HYBE is no angel, they are big for a reason(big company... we all know the story of how the got big). They are probably both at fault here. But the things she is accusing them of are like morally wrong, but completely legal. There's a 99% chance HYBE is gonna win, there's no way she can beat them in a legal battle. Also, HYBE is gigantic. They would never bring this issue to the public if they didn't have the guaranteed killing blow. My prediction is that MHJ will vanish and ADOR will have a new CEO who will be more "obedient" to HYBE. I'm not too worried about NewJeans. Judging by the sister groups success, NJ will be just fine.

We're at that pt where we dont care if NJ goes to her. Hybe can pull out their shares and IP content and let them thrive on their own. It's a pity for the girls though. I wwant her to leave so that she can start fr the ground up. No financial backing, resource, staff, office, and she has to pay and look and produce the songs as well fr scratch. Cause for a label to thrive, you actually need music. Unless they make them to commercial models😂 She was so inconsistent. She said it wasnt about the money but then goes on to yap how she's on a slave contract. IN WHAT WORLD DO YOU HAVE A SLAVE CONTRACT when youre getting your own label and shares?! HAHAH also, the remaining 4.5% shares that they couldnt reach an agreement with Hybe was the issue. Because she wanted to be able to sell it but due to her current contract she wasnt allowed to sell it outside or to a competitor. But the company said that later or i guess after a certain time, they could amend that clause. I find it funny when she considers thr non compete clause was a slave contract like most employees have that in their contracts Also, her complaining about the Parent company CEO's salary?! Bwhahahahhaa I'm just sad that a lot of common folk have no idea how contracts or business works and are siding w her based on her stunts. I simply hope that the police and courts get involved so that they can reveal in public all the necessary docs to shut people up. I hate big corp as much as the next guy but committing an illegal act is never ignored😅 it's not something you can accuse some1 of without proper backing. Also, if she rly wants to hurt hybe (not that she can), she has to ruin army first. The money goes where bts goes. The only way that hybe would crash is if bts leaves them and that's not even a stretch. Theyre earning a lot just from their popup shops globally.

(i responded to someone in this comment section with this message, but I still wanted to put the same comment here for visibility) Don't be a sheep among sheeps! What you see is not everything! Try to see her not through her words but through her actions, what she did before, what ppl working with her say or said, and what the gains and losses are from this! I have a degree and experience in the field psychology, I also understand Korean and the intonations of the language though I don't speak it fluently due to a lack of practice! I understand and can read it! All that to say that I have watched the press conference and Also sent some parts to a couple of friends in the field, a behaviorist amongst them, that do not speak Korean with some translations just to see what they can say about her from an outside perspective, as someone who have no idea who she is! I just explained the gist of it! DISCLAIMER: This is not a professional opinion but is based on one, at least what I could gather, not knowing her personally, not having talked to her and what a cple of others in the field could gather from a couple of moments of the press conf! so this theoretical! I'll start by saying! This woman is full of red flags!! A WALKING NARCISSUS with manipulative behavior! She just manipulated the shit out of ppl, gave her perspective, made it sound true with no solid proof or evidence, knew exactly when to pretend to lose it and when to swear and when to cry to drive points forward or to recover her thoughts. She used emotion and circumstances to appear relatable to the public. Quite amazing if you ask me. The part where she said that with Newjeans "Their relationship is "Special"" is SO TELLING! That probably wasn't how she wanted it to come out! She let slip her personal opinion a couple of times! She ALSO name dropped a bunch of groups and unrelated subjects and news to the accusations to divert attention from the fact that she didn't answer a single one of the accusation HYBE threatened to sue her for! She also wanted to seem like she was the Victim, with a casual relatable look, she wanted to seem like she wasn''t in control, borderline crazy, the lawyers were there to drive that point further. AND what can I say? IT WORKED and Somehow got ppl on her side! ALL I HEARD WERE EXCUSES and misdirection! Later I read the published HYBE Statement (WITH EVIDENCE)! And as I predicted, about 80% of what she said were proven wrong! But what was done was done! the press conference was published everywhere, even on the news, leading a deep impression on ppl! She appeared human, vulnerable fighting a conglomerate! She got the response she wanted, it was more impactful, what would a statement do at that point? Impossible to beat that 3 hour talk with an article. But let me ask you, and this is from me, a question I asked myself today, wld a woman like that in a man's world get to where she is by being the woman we saw in the press conference? Penny for thought!! She a narcissist and manipulator of the first degree and you fans that are emotionally involved are the perfect victims! Also concerning the GP, knowing the Korean society and their constant fight between "Hannams" and feminists, the vast majority of the public are wanting for an underdog story and in a field where there aren't many woman in executive postions, in a man's world, she's the perfect avatar for them! She knows that and knows who her public is and that is the exact reason for this Press conference. God help those girls she manages!! They almost certainly were groomed by her and their parents probably don't see anything wrong with anything and trust her, just happy with the profits and fame she brought from debut to their girls and she probably convinced them that she was the only way to that! They must think it's all okay cause that's what their girls want and they probably only said good things about her to their parents cause she's always giving but trust me, she doesn't care about anyone but herself. The moment they reach a certain age, or the moment she deems that doesn't need them, she'll dispose of them like garbage. MARK MY WORDS and come back to this comment later. Those girls are not safe with her, she groomed them and is still doing it! IT IS NOT a healthy relationship! AS A FAN you should want her as far from them as possible! There is more, in more detail but I'll stop here! I'll repeat, this is not 100% objective, there are some speculations based and drawn from some professional opinions !

She’s also just damn embarrassing to watch, a woman with her position, acting out like this in front of the press, sets a perfect example of why women fighting to get to the top of their field will have it even harder. The cringe factor is huge, projecting to men in power, women are too emotional, irrational, can’t handle it, there is no crying in big business, you do your job rationally, to the best of your abilities and move up, now, women should stay at home doing the housework and look after the kids, go out for coffee. First and foremost, let's continue to love and support BTS and the other artists, as they are, unfortunately, collateral damage to the situation. My heart goes out to all the artists and staff affected, particularly the young ladies of NewJeans; I hope HYBE is providing them and their families with a healthy and solid support system. HYBE filed a police report, entered the legal arena and went public because they have solid evidence (breach of trust, misuse of funds, disclosure of personal information, plans to destroy and acquire Adore by forcing a sale via Put Option, poaching NewJeans, using a shaman for corporate decisions, etc.) to protect the corporation and subsidiaries. Her claims keep changing and appear farfetched. Her press conference was a tell-tell sign of her agenda, unprofessional, theatrical and a disastrous attempt to manipulate the general public and media. Firstly, she went public with internal matters, and then, as a CEO and Art Director, she showed up sporting the latest Bag Lady Look (highly unusual for a South Korean CEO) at one of her life's most important press conferences. She treated the press with contempt, went on tangents instead of answering questions directly, used profane language, contradicted herself, insulted group members, acted unhinged, didn't listen to her lawyers, cried, and didn't have any solid proof for her claims, amongst other things. At times, she spoke as if she owned Adore and NewJeans, but the reality is that she doesn't own the company, the artists, the intellectual property, or the content released. In her latest accusation, she alleges that HYBE planted evidence against her. The conglomerate doesn't need to "plant evidence"; it has personnel evaluation systems, can issue remedial measures, and can terminate employment without making a public spectacle that damages the corporation, artists, shareholders, employees and the country. In her case, all that is needed is for the board of directors to decide. So far, she has refused to cooperate with HYBES's legal team requests and comes across as unethical, greedy, panicked, obstinate, untrustworthy, controlling, manipulative, creepy, fixated on easily disproved claims, and as a disgruntled employee attempting to take everyone down with her. Shortly, she and her accomplices will becomy familiar with the SK criminal code. Meanwhile, HYBE is just getting started with her. They will take all appropriate legal measures to protect their artist and corporation. It will be interesting to see the findings of the investigation/ forensic audits and the total evidence from both sides. 💜

Why would BTS be collateral damage to this situation though. I agree with all of the points but I don't think anyone will be affected by this. That's why Hybe wanted to conduct an internal audit with Ador because it was Min Hee Jin dragging all of these groups into the mess. Whenever there are internal conflict within the company's board of director, It is the director only that's being sacked off, not the employees. Not unless NewJeans do a FIFTY FIFTY, and side with Min Hee Jin by suing Hybe. The artists will be well taken care of. And BTS will be unscathe. They are even in an indefinite hiatus and has all the money to start their own label if they wanted to.

Almost everyone thinks Hybe started the mediaplay which is not true. Hybe announced an audit and then Min Heejin responded with 'plagiarism' accusations of Illit. Min Heejin was the one that turned it into an emotional game. Even if Hybe didn't respond to that, I'm sure she would've continued her emotional manipulation until the public see her as a female office worker that's been oppressed by a huge corporate (When she's a CEO that's been given a label to do whatever she wants). Hybe can't say anything right now because the public wouldn't believe them so they have to wait for the police investigation to be finished. They would have to hold their own conference after that and refute her claims with evidence because that would turn public opinion around. The worst thing to think about is her emotional manipulation of NewJeans and their parents. We know from her own words that she has painted a very bad image of Hybe to them. I do not doubt her words about them being on her side and crying for her. In her plan that Hybe found, she had 3 options and the last option is still possible - Get NewJeans to terminate their contract. They would have to pay an astronomical fee of 100s of millions of dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if she's currently using the time that she has left to convince them and their parents to do this. Hybe need to contact them just to make sure they don't make any decisions before things are concluded. Her plans of being seen as a victim of Hybe, destroying their reputation, and 'freeing' NewJeans. We'll have to see If Hybe can stop all of them.

@@ishtar990she is definitely hiding something. The way she behaved proved by itself. she got major help and all the support from the beginning. A way more special treatment than anyone else. This is a fact. High floor pent house in the top of the building for her own label plus $ 8-9 mil base salary + $2 mil bonuses (she thinks this too low for her delivery- see it is about the money, she just pretended it’s not) plus stock options - some say it’s worth can be equal up to $400 in the future? Or something? She got to pick the best ones from ‘Source music trainee pool’ and from global pool. The list goes on.. I really do feel she’s a master at manipulating people’s minds and distorting the facts to her benefits. HYBE is a global company now and while it has its own problems, the show must go on and strategic biz decisions needs to be made left and right, in seconds. Not only for her label and her group but the whole company and other labels and artists! She is unbelievably acting like an elementary school kid. How about me how come we not first as promised hii it w come why me poor me why us… just shut up, I would say to her. I can’t believe they in fact kept her until now. How can you work with someone like her in a biz setting? I can’t. No. She’s stubborn for no reason, and only thinking about her reputation and greed after all it all boils down to. She can pretend and deny as much as she can but no I am not buying her shit show bc it is so obvious! Someone like her, ungrateful, unbearably rude, low life, destructive person should never even be near young artists. Look at this mess she has created - for tons of money disappeared, all those young and upcoming artists dragged down by her, NJS image already damaged by her vulgar performance during the conference, poor Bang PD…I kind of feel for him…all he had was to hire her (so called the best in the industry) to create a birth for a world class girl group like black pink or bts. And he offered everything he could, for her needs and wants. MHJ totally shut bang pd out and didn’t even get him near NJs I bet. That was why there is no photo of Bang Pd w NJS. Bc MHJ would not allow even an ounce of credit to Bang PD or HYBE. Do you think a new comer like NJS got a lolapalooza gig through her own connection? See, she talks about all these things she did (ah… yeah… that was why they ‘over’paid you millions of dollars-that’s like your …job) and conveniently leaves out a lot more things HYBE and bang pd provided and helped her to work on NJS. What I find most despicable is she ‘pretends she’s not all that and put this front as if she’s the most righteous and victimized person. She’s all of that, most greedy, selfish and manipulative, cunning person I’ve ever seen! And some people are naively getting deceived by it…especially NJS members. She was nothing but a scared, cursing ‘thug’ during that ‘press conference’. How dare she? She thought her bullshitting way through it will work for everyone? Not us! I rest my case.

During debut, if we compare lesserafim and newjeans, lesserafim had 2 members that were formerly part of izone. They were already popular. Yunjin also participated in PD101, so people already knew her. Some fans were hyped about their debut. It only makes sense that Hybe capitalizes on them and promotes them heavily because it's just business. Whereas Newjeans, no one really knew them. They were introduced via Hybe KZread channel with a lot of subscribers. They brought something fresh to the table, that's why the crowd ate them. So MHJ getting salty about lesserafim's debut over Newjeans is just nuts. She should just be happy that she launched a very successful GG and she had 18% stake over a sublabel and that Hybe was footing 80% of her bills.

I'm an American viewing this conflict from afar. It's unfortunate this situation is occurring at a time when Kpop music salea are softening despite HYBE making historic amounts of money for the Korean entertainment sales. This confusion isn't needed at this time. I once worked for a CEO who embezzled money, got caught, and fought hard not to serve jail time. The CEO never apologized for their misdeeds. Instead, the person doubled down saying they "hadn't done anything really wrong" because they were in an unfair system working against them. This situation sounds similar. It's so very very unfortunate. I hope young women watching this entire scenario don't look at this person and conclude that they never want to aspire to start their own music companies because of this ugliness. There's a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things. I think a woman can do well aa a CEO in this highly competitive industry, but it has to be handled in the correct way. Young women should not be discouraged by this debacle. I hope young women will focus on nit making this CEO's mistakes. Last comment: Your reporting on this very confusing and hostile situation has been excellent. Do you know when the kdrama written from this story will drop on Netflix? I'm sure someone somewhere is already working on a script about this fiasco so that something somewhat good can come out of all this for those of us following the story.🎬

What I hated about her "press conference" was that she used the opportunity to attack BTS with the lads not being able to publicly defend themselves YET AGAIN in their career, and this time it was coming from within their own house. I hoped that ARMY bought those caps and sweaters because that unhinged look would look great for Halloween.

Wasn’t it Shakespeare who wrote, “thou dost protest too much”. ( or something like that). The Ms is squirming like a piece of bacon on a grill. I am surprised her attorney would allow her to have a press conference. But she didn’t take her attorney's advice previously. (Believe me, we have an X president who has had several attorneys resign.). Honestly, she sounds very manic to me. If not diagnosed as Narcisstic/Histronic personality disorder. She knows what she was scheming and now doesn’t know how to get out of this mess. The shaman…with all due respect, who in the hell makes business decisions on advice of a shaman?. I’m sure Shamanism is important to many but I can’t see where a person in her corporate position would consult a shaman about business decisions. I'm unfamiliar with that way of decision making. If Ms. wants to cry betrayal, how about her thinking that it would be in her interest if BTS went to military. She even worked with V before he inlisted. Was she thinking then, oh goody I’ll be glad when he's gone? Well, that has backfired as BTS has been putting out stuff right & left. When she started feeling “trapped “by her girls, would she wish them away? New Jeans will move on without her and continue to be successful and she will be out of the picture. It is clear what she & her cohorts were cooking up. Hybe definitely has reason to pursue this to the full extent of the law. Whew! I need to take a Tylenol.. Thanks and good night.

She has accumulated confidential information for years and has very carefully planned all types of defamation that can harm a public figure. Suddenly it turned out that the CEO of Hybe, twenty years ago, was a manager of a video game label, and they made a video game that was too sexually explicit and violent, and it was pulled after three weeks. The shit is just beginning. She is clearly very expert in manipulating public opinion, she knows what the crowds take up their pitchforks for. The screen shots of her private conversations with BSH were a real threat for the future. Today Hybe has activated a law firm specifically for the defamation of BTS, which has skyrocketed. She will try to drag as many people as possible to hell with her.

And she can add extortion to the reasons that she'll be behind bars. She's a narcissist that is a branding expert. She just exposed herself as the reason that there were so many irrational fanwar attacks from New Jeans fans from the very beginning. It's her MO. I still remember how irrational it was for a brand new group to attempt to pick a fight with veteran and contemporary idols like IU. New Jeans group is successful despite her, not because of her. She's going to end up needing to personally pay out millions to the young women of New Jeans once their parents get independent representation and realize that she's been using them to line her own pockets. She's been breaking fiduciary trust and harming NJ emotionally and financially. The parents appear to have been going along with her up until now. But an actual lawyer should be able to set them straight about how she's been isolating all of them away from Hybe, their actual benefactors.

Whatever she's saying is absolute nonsense to me... what mistreatment she's talking about? As CEO of Hybe, Park Jiwon has right to decide which group he wants to debut, when to debut, and other legal and promotional decisions regarding the artists' under HYBE labels. She's ranting because HYBe disregarded her opinion and did what's best for the company as a whole. It may sound bad and unfair, but most companies have to take some harsh decisions to maintain its position, power, and profit. Secondly, why she's mad that ILLIT copied new Jenes's concept? She or Banf PD, or BTS themselves didn't mind at all when she used BTS's fame and popularity to promote NJ in the west. She shamelessly promoted NJ as the Baby Sisters of BTS of Junior BTS. NJ has no copywrite on any concept. it would've been plagiarism if they have copied their lyrics, music, or choreo step by step, which is not the case. Why she's dragging NJ who are literally kids into adult's dispute. They are doing great on their own anyways! And F with this mother-daughter Act! As a responsible CEO her duty is to keep the kids out of this mess, and assure that it won't affects their career, what she has done is absolutely opposite. And lastly, her defending statement that states " because BTS has lot of female fans following, it's difficult to debut new female groups under hype. BULLSH*T! Does she's really thought of armies as 15-year-olds who get jealous of new Kids, laterally kids!!!... well, we don't. it's a stupid argument. She is another iconic example of "my dog stepped on the bee" case.

People will pay as long as one can bring big bucks for them. They don’t care if you do drugs, have 3arms or cursing low life thug who is mentally unstable. Just bring them money they want and they will use you to death. The part I don’t get is mhj is not even a song writer. She just worked on its brand. But isn’t music, songs are the most important things one must gather attention? Therefore NJS song producer, who is a brilliant young man. Watched this and can't understand why this lady went public with this. Does she know that there exists a Corporations Act? Here in Australia breaches of directors' duties, false or misleading disclosure and dishonest conduct can attract prison terms of up to 15 years or significant criminal fines. An individual convicted of a criminal offence may be prevented from performing certain roles, for example company director. Was it insider trading then it could substantially impact that company's stock price. Anyway I am not familiar with Korean Corporate Law. She could have asked for a board meeting and sort it out. It tells you something about her state of mind. I am interested in the outcome. ( reminds me also of Depp vs Heard 😂) Oh boy what a nightmare!

He's a dangerous, unpredictable and calculating person. As I listened to her talk, a thought occurred to me: she didn't start her own label because she didn't want to risk her own money. I believe that NJ's success on the scale we are seeing would not be possible without the financial resources, marketing, prestige and fame of HYBE (read: BTS). Now that New Jeans has gained recognition in the US (songs on the Billboard charts, awards), she has planned a dirty game to separate herself and become independent from HYBE... Perhaps in her mind's eye she sees future successes of New Jeans on the scale of BTS, so it's about what to fight... Who will get hurt, how many dead bodies there will be on the way, it doesn't matter... because the game is about big money (and not just a measly $2,000,000), prestige and power.

HYBE announced that it would file a police report against Min for breach of trust. NewJeans was supported and produced by HYBE, not just MHJ. Japanese media stated that NewJeans actually copied Japanese group call Speed, in both outfits and music videos. Possibly NewJeans was only used it as a tool to accomplish her goals, as she desires more money and power. Her legal counsel was so embarrassed by her. Perhaps she should confer with her shaman. After all, her shaman had said to her that it would be beneficial to her if BTS was not active, and she wanted them to go into the military.
