Ronnie's own words from an old interview: "They (the éS guys) told me I had to jump down stuff to prove myself shoe-worthy. I felt like I was being brainwashed". I always though the already built-up bitterness led to there being no intro to Ronnie's part in a video which took part intros and made them into an art form. Fast forward to What If?, and a Ronnie Creager intro which to this day gives me goosebumps. He denied them that shit, and kept it for Blind. An intro of eternal and unconditional love for skateboarding. Ronnie, you are royalty. Me and my friends never had to nor wanted to see you skate stuff others skated. When I think of what you blessed skateboarding with, I think of the switch heel back tail line kind of gold footage. Oh, one last thing. You really did hide your stance well from us in your issue 4 profiles.

ronnie creager was one of the reasons I loved èS in the first place. It was so rad to have all these guys who weren't just from different parts of the world but who also skated different stuff, and he had one of the best shoes to come out of èS (they were all awesome though)

when the es ronnie creager shoes came out, i was at my peak in skating and those shoes were incredible. I had just gotten over a year of recovery from a knee injury, and a month after that i filmed a complete 3 minute part for local skateshop in one day because those of those shoes. I had 6 pairs of them in a row and was sad that those shoes eventually went EOL.

Ronnie actually had openly shared the reason for his departure soon after they parted ways. Not long after that Ronnie won a huge contest in Australia grinding a huge rail during his run and he even alluded to the fact that hey Es treated me this way and look at me know I can skate big rails, I can win big contests and you Es lost an accomplished skater. It was like poetic justice!!!

I associate Ronnie with an Ollie sex change over a fence. Not everyone has to jump big stuff. That Ollie sex change was a trick I didn't expect to see and it was done so smoothly.

He pretty much says they wanted him to 50-50 a huge rail and he wasn't willing to do it. I don't blame him. Huge risk. Although to your point maybe he could've done training to build towards it. Like at Woodward or where-ever.

You can even tell from the interview that he's just way too chill of a dude. Some people don't really understand you have to put in a little more sometimes unless you tell them too. Like his goal wasn't to become a professional skateboarder, it became something he fell into because it was easy and just went with.

He may not have enjoyed it, but I feel like Ronnie downplays his ability to do big stuff. He starts off his Rodney vs. Daewon part with rails and gaps, skates double-sets, etc. He noseslides that gnarly hubba in Round 2, then switch frontside flips the stairs...all of that stuff would've made for great photos.
