Why Recovered Alcoholics & Addicts Are Heroes | Andrew Huberman - Dr. Anna Lembke

Andrew Huberman asks Dr. Anna Lembke about why she refers to recovered alcoholics and addicts as heroes. She provides the most compassionate answer most people will ever hear.
Dr. Lembke believes that people who have recovered from addictions to alcohol, drugs, and behaviors are courageous, resilient, wise, and more.
If more people perceived individuals with addictions in this way, that would be a lovely step in the right direction for humanity.

the only addiction that no one is able to help you with its all on you and that isolates you and hearing about being wise or remarkable well it doesnt feel that way at all for me its a constant strugle that takes over your life sometimes and you get tired of it and then the suicide thoughts start but you cant do it cus you have kids to rsise and you dont want to hurt anyone especially your own i wish alcohol would be banned that would help so much a lot of people who struggle with going shop or any place without the fear of buying alcohol i know it would relieve all of my burderns cus if it wasnt everywhere i would not go out of my way to seek for it but alcohol will never be banned even if it kills a lot of people and leaves us others crippled
