Fun fact about Billionaire Boys Club, it's named after a TV movie which told the real life story of a group of con men who disguised themselves as young socialites to run an elaborate Ponzi scheme against the Harvard elite before the club began murdering each other in greed. This movie would later be used as the basis for the brutal double murder of Jose and Kitty Menendez by their sons.

Honestly, thank you for finally clarifying the origins of this feud, because every online source attributes it to Lil Wayne wearing Bape, which I find absurdly petty. However, Birdman ripping off Pharrell makes a lot more sense to hold a grudge about.

I hate how much Lil Wayne is disrespected. He is a legend and without him, Hip-Hop would have faded out years ago. He carried rap throughout the 2000s. Sure there was Eminem and Kanye, but Lil Wayne had that raw and unique style that NOBODY could emulate. He normalized BARS and flow over technical lyricism- but was still very lyrical. More than most gives him credit for. He made free-styling fun and not so much about battling or going at the other guy. Bar for bar, it’s not even close that Wayne has the wittiest and most clever metaphors, similes, and double entendres in rap history. This has been the case since 1996 with the Hot Boys. Don’t even get me started on range. He has 90s-rap roots, makes trap music, made shiny suit music, raps on Kanye beats and soul samples, raps on rock beats, had a successful rock stint, freestyles that were actually freestyles- off the top of the dome, effectively utilized auto-tune before it got played out, and as a business man, he signed Drake and Nicki Minaj among other wildly successful talents. He took a chance on a soft, lightskinned singing rapper when Jeezy, T.I., and Rick Ross were the wave. He ghostwrote Birdman’s entire career and is the sole reason DJ Drama and DJ Khaled made millions. THE SOLE REASON! Tha Carter III sold over 1-million copies in one week. Don’t get it confused, people were already not buying music by 2008. The crazy thing is that this album would have been even better if every song didn’t keep leaking. The leaked tracks are a classic album in and of itself. Go listen to Trouble, Cry Out, Kush, I’m Me, Scarface, La La La, I Feel Like Dying, Something You Forgot, etc. These are some of the greatest songs I have ever heard and that’s comparing it to the catalogues of Pac, Big, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, and Andre 3k. Lil Wayne’s ONLY weakness is a lack of storytelling, but with songs like Tie My Hands, he’s able to convey a sort of J. Cole like relatability. Not to mention Dr. Carter is one of the most creative rap songs ever. For my final point, we judge most legends based on their official releases. Their polished work. Kanye, for example, has never released a mixtape or had any project get leaked. The same goes for Eminem. Imagine if Stan got leaked and wasn’t on The Marshall Mathers LP. On the other hand, Wayne was relevant and sold millions of records due to the clout from LEAKED MUSIC! We called him the best rapper alive off of leaked music that he wasn’t even ready to share. His throwaways were unintentionally his most successful marketing tactic and Mixtape Weezy is an entity of his own. If he died in 2009 after No Ceilings-or even if he died today, he would become universally known as the greatest rapper that ever lived.

Bro this was so well said as a heavy Wayne fan who’s actually Tom Virginia Beach where the clipse are from I agree with fully about Wayne this was my guy and I always said if Wayne rapped more about his life like in songs like trouble he would be out of this world as a rapper..I feel he really had a story to tell even at his age because he’s gone through a lot man with Birman his women in his life his kids and just copping with being a goat .this was great and I hate the hate Wayne gets now a days and the kids don’t get how much this rappers owe Wayne but this is great bro

Craig Calvin Logan thanks I put a lot of work into that comment. Wayne from 2004-2009 is my GOAT along with 1997-2003 Slim Shady. I don’t think any other rappers can claim they had a better stretch of success than those 2. It was quality and quantity of music.
