I am moving to Lubbock in few months as a PhD student at TTU. I will be very grateful to understand how the accomodation system off campus works. I need a place suitable for students, economically and conducive environment.

We represent/form a lot of new start-ups that like to set their headquarters in Lubbock because of the low costs and the business friendly Courts in case they ever get themselves into trouble. We're seeing a lot of new businesses calling us to get started lately, so it sure seems like Lubbock is in a growth period!

I lived in Lubbock only 3 1/2 years, then I left when I was drafted by the Army....did not return to Lubbock until 41 years later. I moved back to Lubbock because I don't have to pay state taxes and a good place to retire.

Awesome video! Lubbock seems to be the only good alternative to the big cities in Texas (DFW, Houston, Austin) with much lower cost of living. Traffic was one of the big reasons why my wife and I didn't move to Dallas. Sitting in traffic for hours every day doesn't sound like much fun.

Thank you for finally recognizing that "Some people just want freedom!" Most of your videos apologize for it and hint that liberalism is growing there, which truly is not a good thing. I am looking at Lubbock because it is conservative! THAT IS a selling point. I am currently in Atlanta and can tell you first-hand how a state going blue is horrible for it. So PLEASE, celebrate it more!

It's still a reasonable alternative from Dallas, Houston, or Austin. And there is a ton of room in the area.

I don't know what you smoking lol. I've lived in Lubbock for last few years as an international immigrant. Lubbock is a snoozefest. Somehow I got stuck here. But I'll move out the first chance I get. It's boring AF. I think sometime back it was ranked the most boring town in America 😂😂

I actually dream about Lubbock's airport building a new terminal on its NORTH end and having 26 gates in phase one. And a larger control tower, too. LPSIA is overdue, and just the current band-aid isn't enough. No joke. Such an idea is doable. There's going to eventually be a demand for more flights and larger aircraft. Why not?

Very insightful video. The best part is the open spaces, the volume of land. Even something as simple as open parking spaces is something that has daily value. From my own standpoint, I like new homes with land, green parks that a big, bike lanes, and lap pools for swimming. The education institutions look new and wide open. Conservative values is also a strength as the left coasts is getting too far away from fundamental value.

Like your video. Love LBK! You state at the beginning of your video that Midland/ Odessa are more central Texas. From someone who was born in Midland and lived in Lubbock... Midland/Odessa are both further west than lubbock.... Just sayin... Also, people are moving to Texas for jobs, which are driven by politics.... and finally, I like to see the growth, but I really hope it never gets to 500,000!!!

Lubbock has neglected its air connections. Sure , you can connect out of Lubbock, but its through somewhere else. I guess unlike MAF where the Permian Basin needs to connect to the world, Lubbock travelers tend to be with Tech to Dallas or Houston. And I guess Lubbock's priorities do not include well connected air travel. But to capture the attention of the types of business that will benefit from this regions available, well educated work force, it has to stand out instead of look like Des Moines regional.

People coming to Lubbock love the freedom and are open minded and open to debate but at the same time going their to get away from the transgender and other things don’t like. There doesn’t seem to be any contradiction in that statement? Pretty much a conservative perspective.

As a Tech alumnus and a Texan who can trace his Texas roots back longer than most, I can say that your video is making me second guess buying a new rental property in Lubbock. What happened to the leave-me-alone-and-I’ll-leave-you-alone mentality that used to define the conservative agenda and places like Lubbock and Texas? 🤦🏼‍♂️
