Appreciate your candor about both the pros and cons of Austin. It’s a very popular place for many reasons, but I don’t think I could afford it.

It would be interesting to see and compare the trend with surrounding counties like Williamson, Bastrop, Hays.

Good point Urvish. The populations of those counties continue to grow, and many of the people leaving Austin are moving into the outlying counties for many of the reasons discussed in the video.
I've lived in Texas most of my life, but these summers have been brutal. Huge reason that nobody talks about. Leaving next year for better weather.

Last summer was a hot one and yes and some folks are electing to move because of the heat. Thanks for watching the channel! Have you decided where you're moving?
The housing in ATX is now bordering on the brink of completely unreasonable. I've been comparing Austin and Summerlin (Las Vegas) lately, and you get so much more bang for your buck in Summ. Way lower property taxes and homeowners insurance, and NV is a no state income tax state as well! You'll also pay $300/sf instead of $500. I want to move to Austin, but I'm finding it difficult to find good reasons and pull the trigger.

I hear you Christian. Home values exploded in Austin during the pandemic. At the same time, there are some affordable options if you don't need to be in the city. Central Texas is a special place and people are willing to pay a bit of a premium to live here. There are options in Austin for under $300/sq ft that are great areas. And even more options in that range when you push a little farther out. Let's connect and talk more.
We need another 500k to move out! I-35 is an absolute disaster!

The I-35 expansion project is going to be a challenge for the next few years. Hopefully it helps remediate some of the congestion by removing the huge bottleneck between Hwy 290 and Hwy 71 on I-35.
