And why would she picked him specifically to lie about and not a million other guys? She wasn't the one suing him at the first place, nor counter suing him for 3 million dollars. She didn't sue for fame, nor money because she already has both. Seems to me this guy is full of it.

Reading through the comments, I'm seeing a lot of deplorable responses on the TSwift case with some people saying "she's doing this for attention", "she shouldn't have made it a legal battle" or "she should've called him out there and been done with it". First of all, once a person has been assaulted, however they choose to react is completely up to them. Furthermore, an outcry/retaliation during an assault is extremely rare. Secondly, how can Taylor have asked for this when it happened two years ago and HE sued HER first?? Thirdly, any amount of assault on anyone is a big deal and should be looked as such. So what if he "just grabbed her ass"? It's her body and he didn't have permission to touch it. Point blank period. People who think she's overreacting are the main reason why other people think it's no big deal to do and why sexual assault goes mostly unreported.

Dissapointed in people saying Taylor wasn't assualted because if she was, she would have called out or slapped his hand away. Actually it's far more common than not for a victim of sexual assault, especially when that assault takes place in public or within the view of others for the victim to freeze. Sometimes from fear, sometimes from shock and other times from just the social pressure not t cause a scene for fear of judgement. A commonly known example of this is the common occurrence in japan of sexual assault on overcrowded trains. In Japan it is seen as very rude to make noise or fuss on public transport which has inadvertently created a safe space for predators. Young girls are often groped and simply let it happen due to embarrassment, shame and outright fear of causing a scene and being judged for doing so. What you're expecting from sexual assault victims is an immediate response but this is a rare reaction, it's far more common for victims to submit to the situation in hopes to just get it over with. Similarly in rape victims they are often asked why didn't you fight more? Why didn't you scream? It's a completely unreasonable and insensitive line of questioning also because unless you are the victim of that specific situation you have no idea how you would truly react. i'm not an SJW by a long shot, i think it's ridiculous that an innocent man can be accused of sexual assault these days for merely saying "you look hot" to a woman, that women are accusing people of "online rape" in video games and classing looks as assault. However, this particular line of questioning is exactly what people are talking about when they say 'victim blaming' To have the courage to come forward and report the crime then to be told no it's not assault because you didn't scream loud enough/ fight hard enough/ react quick enough.

I have been through the process of trying to get someone charged for sexually assaulting me, it's an extremely gruelling and daunting process that takes a lot out of you mentally and emotionally. You have to go through so many police interviews, you have to relive what you went through every single time, you have to gather evidence, if you have any, as well as ask any friends or family who know what happened to go through those interviews too. And then, if you managed to make it that far, it's more months yet as the police conduct their investigation and you may go weeks without hearing a thing. If you're lucky, the case goes to court. If you're luckier, the case isn't thrown out the day before you're supposed to be in court. I had to take a year off school just so I could recover, because my depression and anxiety got so bad, and I didn't get to see my abuser brought to justice. If Taylor Swift, or any person, is willing to go through this entire process, then they must be telling the truth, or they are very dedicated to telling their lie.

I work in the court system and it is so frustrating. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and I always try to remember that because I wasn't there; I don't know what happened. But then when you find out that the person is in fact guilty, but they spent years and thousands and thousands of dollars of court resources to fight it. Why can't people just own up to their actions anymore? Why do we have this culture of bad people doing bad things and then as soon as they get caught they cry and act like it was the world's fault. Sickening

GarlicPoncho considering it was a counter suit, she saves $3 million by lying and saying she was really sexually assaulted. Also, maybe she felt she could be the face for feminism since she is a victim. But I'm inclined to believe her considering the evidence. On the flipside, playing devil's advocate, what does he have to gain by grabbing her ass? Does he not have much more to lose, especially doing it for a picture with many people, including his girlfriend and Taylor's bodyguards? Maybe neither are lying. Maybe he accidentally, unknowingly touched his butt while lifting his arm. A girl slapped me when I was a kid because I accidentally grazed my hand on her breast. She really felt I did it on purpose when I didn't. But the fact that he tried to pass it off as someone else grabbed her butt make it look worse for him.

While I agree that from the way the fabric is falling (or in the area over where his hand disappears, not falling) he looks pretty guilty, making herself to be a strong, independent survivor of sexual assault who only counter-sues for $1 and will donate *if she wins* (as if she didn't already have the funds, presumably so that there's more reason to side with her- any judge deciding against her would be hated by millions of people, even if she were lying out of her ass) is exactly the kind of thing Taylor seems to live for.

Swift is known to use things from her life to garner sympathy and be relatable and to write songs. Sexual harassment is now a trending topic and coincidentally she now is part of #metoo. I dunno. Anna K - nobody need read this, I know this is 6 months ago and my issue is mainly with your choice of one word but I need to say this to get it out of my system. For that reason please don't take this personally. Sexual assault isn't a trend, it cannot be appropriately labelled that way because it isn't increasing and any youtuber knows trending features mean nothing, while I know what you mean by the word trending, it's a positive thing that isn't necessarily automatically being exploited. People act like it's all a matter of jumping on the band wagon, even in regard to the very first public case, how could that be when prior to opening her mouth, speaking out was impossible and unheard of, who's bandwagon was she jumping on? This was all so long before it was even okay to say a coworker or stranger assaulted you let alone someone above you directorially or producing your work. Since she came forward, It is being widely spoken about and related issues are finally being advocated for by our celebrity representatives who traditionally ignore and cover up abuses on all levels, it has been a sad reality that has defined Hollywood since it's conception, people leave acting before their careers have even taken off when their choices are reduced to role based reward prostitution, rape or being black listed, all of these things happened before the me too movement as did this incident and Taylor's open disapproval, it is only just now beginning to be acceptable to speak on your experience and people still call you a liar. She was even braver to do it before their was precedent of belief and protection and punishment of the perpetrator set by high profile cases in the media. Another point I'd like to make is that you can't base your interpretations of somebodies behaviour on how they behaved before they were sexually assaulted and expect it to apply afterwards. And you cannot determine somebodies honesty by behaviour they've exhibited in the past. It may affect how widely they are believed, but all kinds of people are raped and that includes women who've lied and sought attention in the past, it may mean that they aren't widely believed but having your body violated is not a deserved repercussion and the rapist does not deserve to forgo punishment because of it. There certainly may be cases you could point to where I might feel differently but I don't think a single thing Taylor swift has done in her entire public career could justify her not being believed, she may have made mistakes as we all do, she's just done so more publicly but for all intents and purpose she's probably nicer, smarter, kinder, more patient and harder working than our most trustworthy friends. Have you heard of her swearing at lighting technicians, pulling her dancers hair, throwing tantrums in green rooms, throwing TVs out of her hotel windows, going to rehab, ignoring fans, telling the paparazzi to duck off? She's very clever and patient and kind, she is naturally sweet but also is protective of how she is publicly received. In order to do the work she does, the work you need to put in prior to public recognition and then after to write albums, record them, perform them, to handle the public interest in personal relationships, to smile all the while knowing the photo the paparazzi just took of you on a date will accompany an article implying you are a heartbreaking slut who exploits men for lyric material, to be robbed of you right to write from your heart about the pain of a failed relationship only to have the man defended because they've worked out which heartbreak you are consoling yourself through your art, all while basically being a child, scraping together your education, having so little life experience outside of this weird experience and still trying to be relatable, be aware of how others live and find joy in simplicity. All considered, there are much much bigger mistakes she could make, as other huge stars have, much older, much more experienced, much more supported, media trained stars but she's smart, all these girls are, the ones that make it through in on piece, she knows every last consequence that would come from lying about this and before she made her public statement her lawyers and publicists will have been working around the clock, they will all have said, let's go over this one more time, are you sure this account of things reflects not only what happened but also reflects his intentions and what he meant to do by his actions, if you have any doubt do not risk your career. Her lawyers will have outlined every scenario before she spoke her truth and that's why I believe unequivocally that it is her truth. I think she wanted to pretend this never happened, her instinct was denial or to bury it, I think she thought she was being silly and she should just shut up and I bet her instinct to do that made her angry and in her role as a talented young musician that so many young girls aspire to be like, I'm sure she was furious to be stripped of the respect she's worked so hard for and she thought NO, I've met, hugged, taken photos with my very young fans, they tell me how much they base their lives on their love of my music and work ethic and choices and if I saw someone do this to one of them my heart would break and die for them but if I speak out and it happens to one of them then they will know I understand how they feel, they will know it's not acceptable and they will stop it, report it and take their recovery seriously, take the self esteem blow seriously and seek to restore the balance and empower the body and mind that we're cruelly put at risk through a selfish greedy sexual assault. That's my educated observation and I've literally since treated patients young boys and girls who've told me that they were horribly effected by similar things and cut themselves off from the world too scared to say this happened and I need help not feeling this way incase people found the incident insignificant, they have acknowledged out loud in sessions that they felt violated, they felt two feet tall, they felt like nothing but a steak to be devoured or a chicken breast to be slapped and groped, they were nothing but meat until they realised how seriously Taylor took it, how seriously the world took it, how seriously wrong it is to do and that the consequences and subsequent million dollar lawsuits are proportional in consideration of that seriousness, they weren't being silly, they were reacting to a personal sexual violation and they deserved justice, their assailant deserved punishment and it was okay to discuss and seek treatment specifically until their bodies once again held esteem and value and strength was restored. Any visible publicised example where the victim is empowered and speaks up to say it's wrong and effected them serves as a breakthrough for the victims who value their opinions and respect them and see their value and tie their own value to their similarities and differences. If it helps even one of those people it is worth it and I've treated two girls and a boy under eighteen who all had breakthroughs in the wake of her public honesty so I'm very thankful she did what she has and people are small minded to consider the public aspect to be a meaningless media stunt, it's not empty and her brain would have to be completely empty not to have considered and to have been motivated by that powerful positive opportunity. She's saved a life, a life that's touched mine through work and touches hundreds of people through family, friends and school. I'm sure it's not so small and entitled and selfish as people assume it to be. I'm sure it's the best thing she could have done with her humiliation and outrage, she took a violation and saved lives she may never cross the path of. I can't emphasise enough how much more positive that is than being what we're taught to consider brave but is really just silence and hiding its effect. That's all. Sorry this is so long and six months too late, I just feel connected to this story and wanted to fully elaborate my stance, there's a limit to how specific I can be here but vaguely stated the life she saved, wasn't even a fan, doesn't know her music, prefers Korn and Seether, yet credits Taylor for the breakthrough, credits her for helping her feel like her body wasn't violated beyond repair and since then her progress has been phenomenal and she's the one providing energy and light to those in her vicinity.with that in mind, my stance remains that it was the right decision, for every girl or boy that lies for the same attention Taylor received or whatever it is people are worried about, for every imaginary bad experience, remembering bad people do bad things without prompting, regardless of that, for every bad thing, this girl is alive, she is the answer to any perceived negative. She didn't die that day. Again sorry this is long, I might delete this and go on with my life relieved of this explanation plaguing my inner frustrated self. Please don't take any of this personally you are all entitled to your own opinions and your own experience and I can entirely see how judgement may be clouded by the strong and constant display of vulgar celebrity lifestyle. I can see how it would cloud and lead to a mentality absent of the possibility that their actions could be selflessly motivated. Okay. No more words now. Rant concluded.

Hey Phil I am from Guam and I wanted to point out how the media is covering more about the military bases here and not about the residents. The location of Guam is the closest US soil to the Korean regime which always puts us at risk. I believe as many will agree that the US is using our island for military purposes, we are US citizens but do not have the power to vote for our president, we have the highest enlistment per capita and the US still does not allow us to have a representative in congress that can vote in house. The bases here take us 1/3 of the island which our residents are barred from entering without being in the military. When we hear the news only talking about the military personnel numbers and not the population of our island this makes the residents feel they have to worry because we feel the US is treating us as "second class citizens" and has little worry for the residents.

Guam is considered an unincorporated territory, just like Puerto Rico. You're legally considered US Citizens, but you have your own constitution and government. Obviously your leaders don't really care about becoming a state, but it's not got anything to do with the US blocking it.

I had Norovirus once. Worst experience of my life. Non-stop vomiting and diarrhea. Couldn't keep medicine down, couldn't sleep, almost ended up at the hospital. It was the morning of an audition I had for the New England Conservatory of Music. It lasted 24 hours, luckily they allowed me to audition the following day due to extreme circumstances. My abdominal muscles hurt for a week afterwards because the virus ate away at the lining of my stomach. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Last year a lunch lady was sick with norovirus at my college's residence. For dinner we were served traces of her vomit or poop in the food... 100+ kids got sick, including myself. I remember wakin up middle of the night with my head spinning, getting up to vomit &such literally every 5-10 minutes for 5 HOURS. i couldn't understand anything I was thinking, it was weird. The illness lasted for 2 days and on the third day i didnt have the strength to do anything but sleep. Fourth day i felt great tho!

My schools band came back from a compilation in Richmond,VA and the entire band had gotten the Norovirus but luckily the had come back on a Saturday and the school was notified by the hospital. The school quarantined the whole band/orchestra/ theater hall. That weekend they had specialist come in and clean the area. But later that year a group that went to HOSA competition came back with it and it wasn't caught and so more than half my school was out for a rage of two months. People kept showing up even though they knew they were sick because many of them were terrified of missing class.

Personally, I think Taylor Swift is telling the truth. The photo and sudden "disappearance" of the evidence is enough for me to believe that she was sexually assaulted. Given her past, some might argue that she's just doing this for the headlines, publicity, etc. but who in the right mind would lie about something as serious as sexual assault for publicity? Hope she wins so that the money can be given towards the charity and they can both move on.

Big Smoke tell that to Mario Lopez, J-Lo or Salma Hayek. Latinos age extremely well, on par with blacks/african americans. Asian people look 19 until they're almost 40, then they seem to age very rapidly. White people are all downhill after 30. Latinos and blacks are the only ones who consistently look young throughout their lives, assuming you arent talking about latinos who spend the majority of their lives in direct sunlight. Latinos and blacks hair generally doesnt grey until very old also.

  • @MrJinglejanglejingle

    @MrJinglejanglejingle

    7 жыл бұрын

Actually, Big Smoke, you are right. Because of how genetics works, Black and Asian people age at a slower rate. They have this Elven-like effect, where they don't age at all, but around 55-60, they suddenly age all at once. Especially Asians. Many people have pointed out that Asian men and women don't seem to age a day until they reach their mid- to late-50s. Technically, those who age the most 'Balanced' are White people. Latinos have an odd, jumpy sort of aging. They age to a certain amount, stop for about... A decade, then jump a decade ahead of where they are. Then that happens again. They get a decade over what they look like, and two decades of aging pass again. It's a weird little factoid~

I am fortunate that I am an artist/performer. When I deal with other artists, I am aware that we, as a group, are extremely sensitive to physical contact with strangers and overly sensitive to physical proximity with those we are not comfortable around. I know I'm like that (as are about three quarters of my musical/graphic artist) friends, so I can empathize with Ms Swift. If the man in question was "too close", or was assuming a level of physical intimacy that was not shared, then he should've known better . . . he did report he's been around "hundreds of artists". If he hasn't learned appropriate physical conduct/etiquette around artists by now, then he's a lost cause. On the other hand, I have known artists to assume intent when there was none. That's one of the downsides of extraordinary creativity-seeing patterns that may or may not exist. And no offense to Ms Swift meant. This is a gray area, to be sure, but a professional would NEVER have let his or her hand drift into a potentially compromising pose on camera during a photo shoot without asking permission FIRST. Wayyy too many artists have experienced sexual abuse along the way. He should already know that . . . if he's got any empathy at all. I work in a band, on and off, where the lead singer was too pretty as a youngster, and was seriously abused by friends of family until their perfidy was finally uncovered. As a group, we are often perceived as targets by abusers. Our very celebrity is a turn on to perves and nice folks, alike. The nice folks just treat us with respect, while the perves . . . well, you know . . .

HOWEVER, I do *not* believe her security guard, who claims he saw it. Why don't I believe the guard? Because what kind of guard sees her getting groped and lets the photo shoot happen?!?! If the guard saw that, he should have interrupted the shoot immediately and moved her away from the guy. OR, he's the world's worst guard. He saw his client getting molested and thought, "Eh, she's able to fend off a guy who weighs twice what she does." That guard lied or is awful at his job, either way he sucks.

Is a peaceful solution to North Korea even possible? We've essentially just been penning them in and ignoring the problem. If they get a workable nuclear arsenal, then how long before they actually use it against someone? While attacking North Korea would have deadly consequences, especially for South Korea, the amount of damage they could do is often greatly overblown (Seoul would not be utterly destroyed for example, and they have many bunkers around the city and evacuation procedures) but if NK can actually get a working nuclear arsenal, then suddenly that means the entire city could actually be wiped out. Considering how famously unstable they are, one wonders if not acting now may lead to even greater tragedy later than acting now would bring.

North Korea is not just gonna bomb Philadelphia out of the blue. Doing that would just be an assurance that their own country would be destroyed. The 1st problem is that the only ones hit by war with North Korea are both their civilians and those of South Korea and Japan. You can't just blow up a country because you don't like the leaders, especially when their neighboring countries will take the 90% of the hit for you. Just saying everything will be fine if they give away their nuclear weapons ain't realistic either. The last person who would be safe if he gave up his weapons was Gaddafi. The US then promptly attacked him, right after he gave up his nuclear weapons for peace with the US. Also, look at this from North Korea's side. For years the US has threatened them with a war and possibly using their nuclear arsenal. North Korea in turn starts building nukes, maybe as a deterrence. We talk about North Korea having a manbaby as a leader, but have you looked at the US. Trump is just pushing North Korea further and further in a corner, until they are pushed so far they attack a few cities (where millions of civilians die) and in turn essentially destroy their whole country (cause that is what will happen with retaliation). In no way is that a move that will be made when you have any other options. But pushing them further into a corner the entire time certainly won't de-escalate the tensions and will only bring us closer to a full out nuclear war.

Zikar how long? Well that depends, at what point do they intend to commit suicide? The NK regime wants to preserve itself. It's not even mutually assured destruction, it's firing a few missiles and immeadiately being destroyed. It's not a good situation, but we have to stop fear mongering. NK loves to posture as propaganda for it's citizens, but they won't attack us. There is a reason SK news outlets aren't covering this as extensively as we are, as Phillip said in the video. Even though they are most at risk to attack by North Korea, they know the chances of their attack are slim.

I was in Seoul on July 4, not a word from anyone about the North's nuclear tests. I spoke to my Korean friend the day after who affirmed that the South "has no feelings" towards North Korean threats or the possibility of conflict. I don't want to speak for another population but it seems the fear of North Korea makes up very little of the South Korean psyche. Also spoke to a couple of US soldiers while I was there and they added that there is little tension whenever the North conducts tests due to their regularity, but I would guess that might have changed.

Okay, a GiP, or GI panel, yes a poop sample takes less than 12 hours to result, even with older technology. This GiP is how you diagnose several different Gi viral bugs that cause vomiting, diarrhea, and ultimately dehydration. I feel they could have asked this runner for a stool sample and had a defined diagnosis in about 12 hours. Defined as in either yes he has Norovirus, or something else, or no, he just has gastroenteritis, which is a generic medical term covering a plethora of signs and symptoms. I'm not a physician but I think the agency handled this incorrectly as they now have no demonstrable proof that is runner had any actual illness, other than stated symptoms. That reporter is spot on and I'm glad for the update that this athlete got to qualify in at least one race. The medical team here should have requested a stool sample, then burden of proof would have been on the runner to provide the sample for testing.

North Korea has been looking for a counter to US nuclear threats ever since General MacArthur requested authorization to nuke North Korea. Now that they finally have some nukes they are setting up the standard Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) threats that if the US attacks them again, it will cost a lot of US lives. Trump then returned the expected counter threat. Hopefully Mr. Kim, Mr. Trump and their aides will then leave it at the same permanent stalemate as US vs. China.

With the North Korea - U.S. situation escalating so quickly, I'm legitimately beginning to fear for my safety. Sure we may be able to wipe them out if they attack us, but that doesn't mean North Korea won't hurt us back. If they just shoot one nuclear missile to New York millions will die instantly, and that's just one missile. If they really do attack us, it will be as many of our major cities within their range. What I'm trying to say is... I'm looking forward to the early release of Fallout 5!

Dont be scared bro. The whole point of having nukes is to not use them. It's called nuclear deterrence. North Korea is developing nuclear weapons in the hope of getting actual major world powers to listen to them. North Korea basically wants to hold us hostage. Their GDP is already only 9 billion dollars, its not like they have a booming economy. Kim Jong-Un basically sees nukes as his get out of jail free card. Trust me everything the Kim's do is for the safety of their own dynasty and highly doubt they will ever actually use their nukes.

The risk to the US is non existent. Their missiles are WWII tech which fail far more then succeed. Furthermore even if the missile does succeed to achieve the range needed, the nuclear process to cause a detonation would most likely fail, given most their tests fail already and they have only done controlled underground testing and not missle testing. Lastly they are easily traceable and the area is watched, any missiles would be shot down before getting anywhere near the US mainland or any US territory. The only real concern is to the local area, South Korea and Japan(though not that great) specifically, and this is moreso due to non-nuclear damage from mortar fire and non-nuclear short range missiles which are much harder to defend against.
