Actually, the Germans did suffer a lot of casualties in Poland. The tanks moved slowly with the infantry causing loss of armor. The Poles had many anti tank rifles which could penetrate the panzer 1 and 2. In France the Germans used speed of the armor at all costs. The German army learned from each conflict and improved over time.

Hey, just a heads up to anyone who may need to know; do not use tampons as a replacement for bandages. Do not stick a tampon in a bullet wound. They are absorbant, and meant to pull blood OUT, not keep it in. They leave behind small particules of cotton behind, and that is an excellent bed for infection.

Dont you think that the Tampons Manufactures dont think abaut the safety of billions of woman, and produce a product that can be "Deadly"...C'mon man ,get a girlfriend and then you might learn something abaut tampons safety .

On the topic of corruption in the Russian military. Due to the nation’s size, the military is split into various districts, each with its own autonomous governance of their districts’ military branches. Each district is responsible for providing and equipping their branches. Corrupt officials often pocketed large sums of money allocated by the federal government for supplying the military. What we’ve seen in Ukraine is troops pulled from poorer regions of Russia, where corruption is entirely unchecked vs somewhat. There are some Russian troops with little to no suitable equipment because of this, and on the other hand there are some who are fully kitted out in comparison. Considering most officials are just as bad as each other, money allocated by the federal government to ‘modernise and invest in the military’, has instead been spent on yachts and stocks in oil enterprises. They’re all guilty of greed in varying capacities, so no one official can take the high ground and point the finger, or there’d be no one left to govern the districts. Now the country is trying to adapt and ‘fix’ these decades-long military inadequacies due to underfunding. And that is Russia.

In reference to the block of wood at 0:03 That was not issued to a Russian soldier. That footage was recorded just after the Russians were forced to retreat from around Kyiv. It was a decoy to take up time and energy of EOD teams. In that same video a bomb is found inside of a rations box left in a civilian home. Many people were killed when they returned to their homes as a result of booby traps set by retreating Russian troops. Many objects were deliberately left behind that appeared to be explosive devices but were actually just decoys, as I said, to waste the time of EOD teams because they have to carefully examine objects that could be explosives before they can confirm whether they are or not.

Just because they are throwing their worst and oldest soldiers and tech into the maul of the Ukrainians, doesn't mean they don't have Major Mechanized capabilities. Don't let yourself be fooled into think that the people who beat Hitler at his own game, are anything else than formidable. They threw their entire population and capabilties at the Wermacht and took back a dozen countries from the Nazis, we sent 8 million troops from 12 differebt countries to France and barely manged to win. They lost 3x more people than we even sent to war in Europe. And they did it with a completely destroyed country. It takes 22 support troops for every warfighter in the west, in russia it is 3/1... And that Russia´s economy would self-destruct in a month, and yet they are recording a 2% growth in 2022, while the UK and Germany are in a recession? Or perhaps that´s the reason why Russia has a 6 to 1 kill ratio, and UA has suffered around 200k KIA, while Russia has 40k KIA? Indeed, they seem like a great "parade" army. Additionally, if Russia is indeed the 2nd Strongest Military Power in the world, it should be able to already defeat Ukraine, even if it is well supplied, because remember that Russia claimed that their logistics are absolutely amazing and the best in the world. And World War 2 is different, because the USSR wasn’t even expecting an invasion and didn’t prepare for said invasion, so they was forced onto the retreat but this time, Russia is the one invading, they have all the time and supplies they need to prepare but instead, they still perform hilariously bad. It might also be a result of their extremely corrupt government, which infects the Military Sector. Their tactics are just laughable at best, I mean Tanks in a straight line? Into an URBAN area? @@RememberNoBritish first: are you not understand what sanctions and support mean in Ukraine, even America would not be able to manage for them to not interrupt a war. I admit that saying that Russian logistics are "best in the world" was probably a tool of propaganda (which Ukraine had many if not more of) also Russia is at a logistical disadvantage because zelensky regime occupied the land at start of conflict. World war two was not different, are you unaware of what is called "the winter war". Also other wars are examples of my point such as first world war and Ruso-Japanese and Crimean war. I can tell you live in America who you may be aware is enemies of Russia, therefore, I don't know where you got the idea that Russia is doing "hilarious bad" but a huge part of Ukraine is now occupied by DPR and LPR and Russian forces. Not too mention Ukraine is a giant country. The government is somewhat corrupt but so is US and many other countries. I don't know what fantasy you live in where Russia tactics are this bad, but like my original point: even with all the foreign support+ sanctions, and your "5 year old's tactics" Russia has made huge gains and Ukrainian counter offensive was a miserable failure.

If Russia claims that their Government is not corrupt, they should be able to at least minimize its effect but Russia has not, in fact, these aren’t total sanctions (unlike Iran), many and various western companies still do businesses in Russia. Second, the Russian Army should still be able to beat Ukraine in under a year, even with those limited sanctions and western support for Ukraine. If they tactics are truly great, they would already be able to exploit Ukraine errors at the start of the conflict, and when Ukraine was at its weakest point. This reminds me a lot about China's defeat in the 1895 Battle of the Yellow Sea. The Chinese Government - under European advisers - spent a sizable amount to create a modern Navy, centered around several British and French designed warships and a local arsenal capable of making modern naval ammunition. Corruption ensured that only a few of the warships were actually built - without adequate armour-plate - and that the crew were very poorly trained. The Chinese "officers" gained their positions through influence, and never bothered acquiring any knowledge of the naval arts, the only capable crew being a handful of European contractors (mostly British and Scots) who were "kept out of the loop" regarding their own ships. When called on to fight the Japanese, it was discovered that the propellant charges and explosive shells were filled with sand , and the European manufactured armour piercing munitions were in such a poor state that most were useless. At least I understand in the subsequent disaster, the Japanese did pick up survivors...

Excellent video. My experience in the USAF mirrors the theme here. Maintenance and training were costly, but our military and civilian leaders ensured that we were prepared and equipped for real battle. When I see "experts" complain about the amount of tax dollars invested in our national defense, I wonder if they ever flew an F-15 or used night vision goggles or stood next to another soldier trusting they both had the skills necessary to fight effectively together. For every hour of flight an F-16 requires 17 manhours of maintenance. An F-22 needs 30 to 40 manhours. An F-15C costs $23,000 per flight hour while the F-35 costs $28,000 per flight hour. The cost to train a fighter pilot in those airframes runs between $5 and $11 million per pilot. So, owning a $2 million dollar Steinway doesn't mean much if your piano is out of tune and the pianist never had lessons.

About the food rations, their current ration state in the Russian military is better now than it was in 2008, in 2008 they were found to still be issuing rations given to the Soviet Union from the US during WW2.

Correction about the tampons: they still weren't issued to the soldiers by the Russian army. That officer in the video was telling the troops to get their girlfriends and wives to send them because the army has nothing to give them except guns and uniforms.

speaking to an ex SAS soldier in his 70s, & they carried tampons for wounds as they were much lighter to carry & very effective.

@@peterkerr4019 Army medics have been trying to get soldiers to stop using tampons instead of dedicated equipment supplied in their first aid kits for decades. Tampons being what to use for bullet wounds in situations other than when you have nothing else is a stupid urban legend that needs to die.

@@peterkerr4019 Doubt they were "very" effective. Sure those can slow down bleeding but sure as hell not stop it. And putting things INSIDE of your wound is bad idea for the long term since you might get infected or a disease. Bad enough wound and you'll bleed to death all the same without proper first aid that modern soldier's equipment should include. There is a reason why proper first aid doesn't involve shoving things into your wound, but stop the bleeding from outside instead or stopping blood flow to that section of limb.

Royal Marines carry tampons to make fires and plug wounds. Good piece of kit actually.

The absolute biggest favour that putin has done the world is show beyond all doubt how toothless and weak his previously feared military is. NATO need never fear them again basically. In fact very few countries would fear them now. Thanks Vlad!

They already knew that from the SALT talks - When inspecting the russian fleet at Sevastopol they found that from simple observation that half the subs were so badly rusted below the sea line they were unseaworthy and the other half were in such a bad state of repair that they would have broken down with in a few hours of being put to sea
