Since the collapse of the Sovjet Union Russia becoming A Federation. Within this new Federation there are many Republics of...., Technically any Republic trying to held a referendum for Indepence. I mean theoretically it could be possible to gain independence from Russia. After all Russia is a Democracy and when Mr. PUTIN leaves the office sooner or later a new (weak) President taking office with loads of domestic problems to handle anything is possible. Same for USA as an example Texas and or California can walk that to that path of Independency as well. You cannot Bomb your own people no matter the local population consist of more Siberian Asian Russians or local Caucasian Russians they are Russians for now. Chinese Communist Party under Xi can follow Gorbatsjov initiative as well and put an end on Communism. Change the name of the COUNTRY, change the system of the government and if the Chinese follow / copy a big proportion of the USA government system and all Provinces becoming Republic or States, the Far East, Siberian Republics can join the future China/ Huaxia Federation/ States. No war, no mass killing, everybody got what it wants, but yes Russia looses big piece of land.

The US should counter-balance this by reciprocating the joint development of (oil and gas fields in) far eastern Siberia to the west of Alaska.

In a case of a war of attrition between these two, the bottlenecks that Ukraine is actually facing in terms of human resources to fight against Russian invasion because of the population differential of both country (and the willingness of more human sacrifices in the front line from Russia), will be even bigger for Russia as China may have the same willingness of human sacrifices in the front line as Russia, but with a population differential far bigger in favor of China than the one between Russia and Ukraine. And Russia will never risk a nuclear confrontation with China that would let them both wiped out, letting the USA the sole superpower in the planet..., so, any confrontation between China and Russia should be only a conventional one.

Not just oil and gas, probably the most important resource over the coming decades will be water, which Russia and specifically Siberia, have vast amounts. China is already taking drastic steps to provide more water.

I find it incredibly ironic that Russia is about to taste the world order they themselves wanted. That said, I'd rather have a weak Russia controlling Siberia than letting China access the arctic sea

More "face saving" unequal treaties coming in for Russia. Putin claims the dissolution of the USSR was the "greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century". Maybe for Russia, as they no longer sit at the head of the table for a huge bloc. Putin was on the right track by building his energy leverage on Europe, but stupidly overplayed his hand too soon. His legacy will be Russia's self inflicted geopolitical disaster of the current century. Now China has the choice between helping out a weak partner so they can try to birth a "multi polar" world, or take effective control of the resources they'll need if they want to fuel their own economic future. Xi and Putin's common weakness is an astounding lack of imagination. They use the same lens to look at the future, as the one they use to look at the past. Maybe that is due to environments where competition for ideas is discouraged. The west could learn a lot from the mistakes of others, but can barely process their own. Until humanity is able to shake off the behaviors that were somewhat effective in the past, they won't be able to leverage most of their potential beauty.

Dictators think like predators. If they can inch their way for more territory, even if they’re “allies,” they will. What’s sad is that Putin has no choice but to reluctantly agree. His expressions with each signing or hug shows this while Xi breaks face out of enthusiasm and excitement and affection.

They killed off the people originally entitled to the land in purges and evolutions. Unless someone wants to get a ouji board and consult dead tsars and the dynasty of china...... They got the ghost of romanov, Sun-Yatseen and the last dynasters giving advice on property rights now???

Less and less countries are willing to stand with russia and it is mostly on the little man who is bankrupting his own country in order for a dream that has turned into a first class nightmare for his own citizens and he is absolutely a nightmare for everyone else at least those that prefer Peace and a long life. There's no choice no options when dealing with the little man who has a taste for blood that most of us would find repulsive and disgusting but not for the little man who has just went through a cool half million lives of his own people talk about hitler putin is trying to out do hitler it appears. So everyone beware as long as little man putin walks Free we are all in danger.

It'll be at least a decade before russia is going to be a real threat to anyone else especially if he continues inside of Ukraine russia is now exposed and could have made some grave errors. If russia continues they are sure to end up at the mercy of its neighbors and that could be some very hard decisions that will make russia look at just who has been leading our country anyways the people will finally notice putins 800 million dollar 😂Yachts and Mansions and suddenly the people realize that they have been swindled by a fraud. Run putin run cause you might be facing some truly Brutal treatment from those that suffered under you.

Probably won’t happen. China wants to replace the USA in the current global order. Doing land grabs on Taiwan and Russia will completely destroy their credibility. Putin has actually played this pretty well here. China will play the long game, fill the area with Chinese workers that will eventually demand that this land be recognized as China again…

Great video, but you are unfortunately using the term Russia, to refer to Muscovy Duchy later renamed Russia to give itself more importance, USSR and Russian federation. Your audience very likely is not aware of the nuances that make a huge difference. Those are very different regimes, with different ideology and economic structure. Yet they are all united by one weird desire to seem more important to the world than they really are.

The West is trying to drive a wedge between Russia and China. The bond between Russia and China is a forced union because of West trying to kill both. China will not ditch Russia, China will aid Russia, China will not take any portion of Russia and China will not take advantage of Russia. Under the relentless threat for the West, they have to stick together for survival. Long live Russia and China.
