They kill for fun and toy with their prey. Where are your anti cat videos, peta? Rodents carry disease and cause vast amounts of damage. Glue traps are a great way to get rid of them.

The difference between you and other animals is that the other animals do not have a concept of empathy. They don't understand humane, they don't have that. And you are a human. Which means you do understand empathy and cruelty. By your own logic "it totally not cruel so long as human didn't do it" You draw no distinction between yourself (human) and other animals who mostly act out of instict. By this logic you are no different to any other animal, your pick. They also act out of instict alone.

I'm not for the torture of infliction of pain and death on anything. We also have to recognize the damage that mice can do and potential hazards they cause. Not to mention, they are not human, therefore there is no humane way to interact with them. In the wild they face a host of predators. Humans have created their own environment due to our ability to reason and make deductions. We are weaker than a lot of animals, but our ability to use tools, and bind together to allow specializing in skills has manifested in the creation of such traps. It isn't for fun, but mice cannot be allowed to linger in a residential area. Sorry, but mice that run into an alpha environment will be rejected by any means necessary. This is just as natural as a cat killing it in a yard. We don't have the claws or reflexes, so rely on intellect to find ways of doing the same thing. Does a bull worry about the things he gores with his horns? No he protects his realm. Humans do the same.

What would you suggest otherwise? Especially for the ones living in apartment complexes. I live in an apartment and we have rodents arriving in balcony and wandering on our floors. In balcony I might be able to put those food baits (but still worried about it being chewed by birds) whereas for apartment door, I don't wish to keep those food baits as someone else's pets can eat those. For apartment door I was thinking glue traps might be much safer option. However I haven't used any of these before, so unsure of which would be the best option.

I mean, I suggest using traps that at least kill the rat/mice faster so they don’t have to deal with the pain of being stuck in a glue trap for maybe days or hours. Or you could use traps that keep it alive, take it somewhere far away from your house, and release it.

@@Ramza941 Well yes you can just keep it alive and release it but there's always a chance it'll come back or just go into someone else's home. Now I'm not saying that I agree with using a glue trap if you can avoid it but I'd go with a snap trap above anything else. Yes you're still killing it but it's a quick kill so you don't have to worry about the mouse suffering like you do with the glue traps.

Unfortunately I have to use these traps because the roaches are absolutely disgusting, But I check them morning and at night and if I see a mouse, I do my best to set it free far outdoors.
