    Hydrogen cars is silly but putting a bunch of cars in a narrow tunnel with the width of just a single car so if any one of them breaksdown you'll be stuck in a never ending traffic jam is genius. I don't trust a word this guy says after he manipulated the entire world to gain some extra billions on a meme coin.

    Great video as always. One point I would like to add is that Hydrogen needs to be compressed to a very high pressure in order to attain acceptable energy density as bulk. That means fuel cylinders in cars have to be pressurized very high which might cause serious safety issue. Also, hydrogen burning creates invisible flame which is very scary.

    That's why It's not for passenger vehicles until pumps are commonly available. First it will be adopted widely in trucks as businesses can bear heavy expenses consumers can't. The idea of hydrogen cars was abandoned in 70s because it was producing nascent Hydrogen, which could harm ozone layer and also it's highly corrosive and flammable. If we are able to tackle those two major issues then it's the best viable option. PS: also The big auto and big oil lobbied hard against Hydrogen and electric vehicles in general and that's why we have such a "Car centric" infrastructure, especially in the USA. There is more space for cars than living space.

    The real reason that Hydrogen is being pushed is because its supply chain can be controlled by big players (Adani?) and its sale can be taxed by the government. With BEV cars, you can put solar on your rooftop, generate your own electricity and use it to charge your car, but the Government loses out on the huge taxes they enjoy on petrol (and hydrogen in the future). The electricity grid is only going to become more distributed with time with people having solar and battery powerwalls and electric cars in their homes/apartments.

So makers will have to depend on another industry to prepare special tanks to carry the same. Yes.. With demand everything works, so there is incentive.. But to break the convenience of an entire industry...requires billions of dollars. And for this area which only has Toyota sinking billions.. I like to see a greener change.. And more so if there is a concrete one. Let's hope all their efforts pay off!

    @@vinsin328 Yes, battery EV's do have huge carrbon footprint initially. But it reduces overtime, as there is less carbon footprint while running the car. But it takes about 5-7 years to reach the same level or be better than Internal Combustion cars carbon footprint (considering average persons use). But by that time the battery lose 10-25 percent of it battery health (varies for different manufacturers/batteries). Also, they are a lot more difficult to recycle, and use up a lot of energy and give out a lot of carbon during the process.

    I find it amusing when people start talking technology without having rudimentary understanding of science. The biggest stumbling block in mass use of hydrogen fuel cells is the use of a very rare metal i.e. platinum. Its total production each year is about 200 tonne. To make things worse, a rarer metal Palladium is also essential whose total production each year is about 10 tonnes.

    We always forget with electric cars is that the car is more eco-friendly because it engine is an Electric motor with efficiency of 90%+(with losses) a IC engine is merely 20-30% efficient at best. Also the Lithium battery for sure requires more pollution in making but that battery itself is 99%recyclable(not reusable without processing). And as the EV tech is significantly new. It will only get better from here.

  • @rapiddu6482

    @rapiddu6482

    Technically recyclable 99% is far different then actual effort. Technically everything is recyclable given enough complexity in the process of recycling. Feasibility is the key. Have you seen current recycling system being any successful? There are only few sectors where recycling has been good like plastic water bottles but that's it what about other type of plastics? Nothing landfills. What about electronics? Nothing landfills which also contaminates the groundwater enough to cause fucking cancer in nearby drinkers. It's a slippery slope at best I don't trust developing country regulation enough to trust in their recycling regulation and enforcement. They couldn't do it for e-waste which is much more due to numerous other things than lithium battery ever will be, despite that it's progress has been pathetic. Private companies will do everything to not do recycling batteries to maintain their profits. It's often passed on some unknown recycling factory that does less than half the work and rest is sent to landfills.

    Lithium Ion batteries are just another fossil fuel kind because Lithium is also limited and it pollute the environment more then fossil fuel we need either an alternative storage system for electricity or better hydrogen engines and yes electrical motor have efficiency of 95% but not the batteries and one more thing world still produce more than 80% of its energy but buring fossil fuels which has maximum efficiency of 50% so if we factor that into equation both IC engine cars and battery cars have same efficiency over all

    Hydrogen is not the answer to remove petrol cars. Hydrogen needs to be extracted and compressed at very high pressure to make use of it in a vehicle. This step itself is going to use a lot of energy (electricity) which can be directly used to drive cars. Also, the hydrogen tank needs to be cylindrical (similar to CNG) to have required strength to store high pressure hydrogen, any other shape is not going to work. This will greatly reduce the space in car. Battery can be made in modules to fit any remaining space inside car, example Tiago EV where TATA added battery to existing Tiago car body. Hydrogen cars also lack the range. This is why no other country is trying to push hydrogen. There is a really detailed analysis of hydrogen cars in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/qH6erdmMdpzNhJs.html

A car for 25-27 lac 7 seater made and developed in India able to run on atleast e85 fuel with a 5+kw battery(able to charge it at home as well) supporting its mileage something like 20-22kmpl is something i would like to buy instead of innova crysta or those kind and introduction of cars like this to the market would help to reshape the market as well.(i might sound foolish or wierd but yes i would like to own a tata or mahindra like this)
