Millie most probably doesn't wants to end up like the Harry Potter cast. Being a part of the biggest series of all times they're stuck with their characters forever and fans or audience in general doesn't wanna picture them apart from those roles. So Millie wanting to move on only means she wants people to support and love her other characters in the future as well. Obviously 11 will always be special to her she didn't get that 11 tattoo irl for nothing, she just wants to make sure people support her regardless.

I think today's young actors/actresses are aware of what happened to actors/actresses like Daniel Radcliffe and the others from Harry Potter and they see that they're always going to be remembered for that specific role no matter what other roles they get in their careers. They don't want that to happen to them. Millie is smart for this.

I feel like it's mainly with how El's story is most likely done after S5. She most likely wants to move on in a positive way from the character and do more stuff and just not be known as El/11 from Stranger Things. I feel like she most definitely doesn't hate the character and would just like to move on and see Stranger Things and El as a prep for future roles and her future career

Actually everything technically started with Will in the first season. His dissapearence and everyone scrambling to find him was the entire plot of the first season and if he didn’t exist than there would have been no story. He’s also going to be the main focus of the 5th and final season so the show started with him and it will proceed to end with him.

@@bl5533 That’s true, but the entire first season doesn’t revolve entirely around the gate. Opening the gate was the main factor of Will going missing but that’s not what the entire season is about. The season 1 synopsis is: “When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl.”

I get that she probably doesn't wanna be tied to the “stranger things girl” idea forever and wants to branch out but that still doesn't make it any less sad. She's got her whole life ahead of her to do plenty of other great roles. Honestly I think she could reconsider because every actor is known for there breakout role but that still doesn't mean the other stuff they star in will be boring to watch. I understand it but I was really hoping that stranger things would carry over into a new show after season 5. That would be really hard to do if she left

@@FatalSex. I totally get that! I'm not saying they should beat a dead horse and have a bunch more seasons. I just wish they could have a new show set a few years after the original. I mean everyone knows Game of Thrones started to be terrible because they dragged it out so long people lost interest. I just want something set into the future. Maybe El has a kid, and they have powers too. Maybe show Jopper getting married. That type of thing. It would just be nice to see it turn into a great franchise instead of a great show. of course it wouldn’t be worth it if they had to use different characters but Fin and I think some of the other cast were really sad to know the show is coming to an end.

The Duffers have said the "spin offs" won't feature the main ST characters, and have stated that this story is ending with Season 5. There's no reason to kill her character off because it would "solidify her departure" from a storyline that is essentially ending anyway. It wouldn't be a satisfying end at all. The "spin offs" sound more like they will be inspired by ST, not that they will be directly related to the same story.

Right season 5 will be the end of Stranger Things as we know it.

Her role as Eleven throughout the show has finally fully run its course. And I have good news for her, because Season 5 is gonna be the last season. Throughout mid 2023 during production it will be her last time on set and playing El, and then she can rest easy and breathe a sigh of relief when filming is done and post production begins.

Good for her, I think as a young Actress it’s time for and the rest of the cast to move on. Yes I do love her and the show, but she’s young and deserves to get more iconic roles under her belt

I’m actually sad for the end of stranger things

If any main character does die in the final season, I think it'll be either Jonathan or Steve. Nancy's in a love triangle and the Duffer Brothers said they are going to try not to introduce any new characters for the final season since it would feel exhausting at this point to have someone else join the team and they have to be filled in on what's been going on. Therefore, whoever Nancy ends up with, that other guy won't have anyone and will have to die. So here's what I think will happen... - If Jonathan dies, it will set up specific character arcs for Joyce and Will. Joyce will be upset that she has officially lost one of her sons. But for Will, this will make him a bigger target for Vecna to fall under his curse. Jonathan was the first person to find out that Will is gay and accept him for that. Vecna can use this to torment Will. And if Nancy does end up marrying Steve later on in life, we can see them in modern day at a point where Steve's dream comes true in which the two have kids and drive across country in an RV. They could have a son named after Jonathan. Maybe a daughter named after Robin could be the godmother/babysitter for them and with that, Steve can have a daughter named after her. - If Steve dies, thinking about the future he wanted will upset Nancy. She will also find out how Jonathan was going to another college instead of the one she was going to. She will be furious at first, but they will work something out. Robin will of course get emotional at Steve's funeral. Even though she wasn't into him romantically, she still knew he had feelings for her since season 3 when they were in the bathroom together. Dustin will be emotional too thinking back to when he said to Steve "If you die, I die." Whether Jonathan dies or not, I'm sure we'll see a relationship build with him and Hopper. I think Hopper is deciding to propose to Joyce and with that, he's trying to be the best dad he can be for both Will and Jonathan. Who knows, they might get into a fight at some point in which one of them says "You're not my dad!" If Jonathan does live for when wedding happens, he will use his camera to take pictures. And I heard somewhere that Lonnie might return for season 5. He was supposed to return for the final episode of season 1 to help Jonathan and Nancy battle the Demegorgon instead of Steve because he was supposed to die earlier and stay as a jerk. So Lonnie was pretty much supposed to get a redemption arc. If he does return, I think he'll sacrifice himself to save Will, Jonathan, and Joyce.

Honestly I think one will die, however I think whichever one Nancy chooses will die and then she won’t be able to be with either. Right now it seems like they’re setting it up for her to get back with Steve which means he’ll probably die. I hope I’m wrong-I hope they all live and she stays with Jonathan (cuz let’s be honest she cheated on Steve and Jonathan is just going through a rough patch)

why would robin grieving steve's death have anything to do with his feelings for her anyway? it's not like she'd think 'oh he used to have a crush on me its a shame he died' like dude that's her best friend she's gonna be upset either way

She started this show when she was 10 and by the time it ends she will be 20! All good things must come to an end. It's been a decade but her career is still only just beginning. So excited to see where she goes💕

I know Millie isn't the only actor that wants to move on from Stranger Things. Joe Keery wants to as well. He stated that he doesn't relate to Steve anymore and even made a whole persona to get away from being just Steve. I'm sure Millie and everyone else deals with that. It's a curse when you play a popular character and its fair to let these actors move on.

Millie isn't even leaving until s5 ends... she just won't be in any of the spin-offs and rightfully so. I don't expect any of the main kids being in them since they've already gotten so much screen time in the main show. Her dying off in s5 wouldn't be so she isn't in any spin-offs but because she actually will just die, a lot of characters are going to die and not just because it saves them from featuring in any other Stranger Things related things. The Duffer Brothers won't give a shit if they piss off the fans. And by the way I'm not sure how many movies/tv shows you expect her to be in because she's being in quite a lot unlike what you said??? She's only 19, give her a break.

Millie is attending school and she's engaged, so she probably wants a normal life for a while! The best shows end after five or six seasons, which is a great way to go out on a high, without time to go downhill.

But Millie is 19, hasn't she finished school yet? I don't know, I doubt Millie is going to take a break after she finishes filming ST, maybe when she gets married and has her honeymoon. In any case, Millie probably just wants time for her own projects. She said that Enola Holmes meant more to her than Stranger Things, because in Enola Holmes she had the freedom to express her opinion and build her character in her own way, in addition to the fact that she was able to intervene as a producer in both films. She also said that she would like to play Britney Spears in a biopic, so obviously Millie has big dreams and she wants to fulfill them all, not get stuck in the past.

This is the worst that can happen to a good tv show.... And we've already seen it so often... I don't want to bring actors personal lives into this conversation, even though it is obviously a big factor. And it would be bad for me as a fan to not take the importance of the personal life of a human into consideration. Still it's sad for the digital world of movies and shows. So many things change in movies and TV Shows, it's hard to find a show or movie these times where it was actually delivered and of course well received by the audience, just as it was intended to be from the directors perspective. I don't have a problem at all with something like this happening, but how high is the possibility of the audience actually finding out which way the story was supposed to go, if it's bad or not... I would love for Stranger Things to end in a natural manner, if that isn't possible...Stranger Things is to be honest in need of an deserving end :) I would love for the story to take a different path than it would have, even though I think the path looks promising, with how the show has looked thus far but if it went in a worse direction than our beloved Duffer Brothers had to go, I would love to find out the alternate ending... This of course also beholds the possibility for the directors to just blame the circumstances for if it happens, their failure. In the end I can say that I am a big fan of Stranger Things, I've started to follow the show and everything happening around it a while back, I was glad that I only had to wait for Season 4 to be released and I'm thankful, that I was able to binge watch the show exactly to my liking, to also fit it best in my time schedule, I love most parts about this show so far and I think it has the Possibility to be one the best TV shows of all times. If they're able to deliver a good ending of this show in times of rather bad shows and movies, that'd be greatly appreciated :) Thank you and have a great rest of your day :) (or night of course :)

Stranger Things was originally supposed to be an anthology series. Season one was supposed to be it for this cast. El was supposed to die at the end of it. Season 2 was supposed to be different characters in the 90s, but the audience fell in love with the characters and their story was contrived. I think the spinoff will be the continuation of the originally planned anthology series. El might die at the end of season 5 like they originally planned at the end of season one. The whole Hopper fake death and tease that he was alive was a repeat of what they did with El in season one. She vanished into thin air. Then we saw Hopper leaving the food in the woods. I’m skeptical about the prequel play because the novels were contradicted on the actual show and this play could be as well.

Cobra Kai revisited their characters 30 years later and it would be cool to see Stranger Things do the same thing

I really hope they don't give 11 a fake out death like that at the end, especially sense she literally already had one in season 2

As a published author writing an Egyptian mythology series, I can totally understand why the Duffer brothers want to stop at Season 5. Just my opinion of course, but to me, it starts to lose what originally drew people in to begin with when you drag out a story too much. My third novel, I had to start taking the series into a much different direction with the main characters from my first two novels, and bring in new characters with much bigger roles, so the story doesn't become stale, and it is one difficult task writing it. I am planning however to do spin offs as well, provided only if the first three novels do well enough. Proper marketing is extremely difficult. Anyhow, I'm hoping Millie's character doesn't get killed off, but I completely get why she wants to not only be known as El, when she is still young and wants to show off other kinds of roles she can pull off. I would be over the moon if the Duffer brothers do some Stranger Things prequels. That would be awesome!

I think Eleven's death would be way too predictable, I think it could end up being Will or Steve (sadly). However, Eddie's death was predictable, and now he's coming back. It's too hard to guess what's gonna happen!

It's pretty common if you have options, when you do you don't want to get pidgeon holed. She is a fine actor so she propably can make something off of it. Like for example I just knew so many Got actors were too hyped for their skills and died down after couple big movies, like Clarke for one (sure she is a fun personality but veery average actor). You can see with some actors that ok, they work for this part but I will be suprised if they can bring something new and interesting with a differend one. Which is another reason to move on even if you are not a one trick pony, because you can even be quite good actor but just have played this one part for so long that it comes too easily on top of other performances kinda like an instinct and people cannot unsee it for some series being so long and iconic. It's then distracting. Still whatever it is you move on to, it's best to steer away to something completely differend atleast in genre and it's also usually not as risky to go for more mild budgeted movies rather than get the bigbig offers (like say a good actor like Aaron Paul did a moronic movie of Need for Speed right after BB 🤨 Like it's a big money for him but a bad script and not much to do acting wise, it did hinder his careers momentum after that). Because you can be kinda bland in not super expensive movie but if audience don't find you intriquing after even pretty good blockbuster it can essentially be almost done after that. Depends a lot of an actor. As an last example, someone who got no formal teaching for acting before or during and sucked for it the whole Harry Potter franchise was Daniel Radcliffe (he was just about passable) who actually took acting seriously after it ended. Started to invest in learning and rose up the ranks. He still isn't some amazing actor but fine enough, wayy better and have build a lasting career by taking it slow and making a lot of good smaller role choices before being in any other blockbuster. He also does have some charisma element to him even if still not being technique wise totally on point. Like I don't mind watching him at all, he just ain't those born to do this kinda deals which makes his paved way to success after HP something you gotta give props to.

The other characters are so well developed that I wouldn’t at all miss el. Maybe small mentions of her would be nice though.

Everything you said was everything I was thinking like I need to see El and Mike married with kids and the whole party together defeating some bad guy the kids get to see there parents in action I need to see it happen but I also want an ending I’ll never forget like El sacrificing herself to save the world. @@SiimplyHalloween I doubt any actor wants to be recognised just for one role alone, because that gets boring. For instance Steven ogg (voice actor of Trevor in GTA V) only gets recognised for that role by most people,and he gets super fed up of it
