Why Men Need to Dress Well

Men (and people in general) often argue that we judge people first by the content of their character and pay no attention to their appearance or first impressions. That's a nice thought, but in reality we are always making a snap judgment based on the first impression. It doesn't mean that we can't be wrong and change our mind after we learn more about the person, but the initial judgment happens...its a fact of life. Knowing that to be the case, why wouldn't we try to provide the best first impression possible - beginning with our appearance. Of course, we back that up with substance of character and all of the other things we talk about in this community. But if you don't get the first impression right, you are starting from a deficit.

We should wear a button-up collared shirt or at least a polo shirt and shoes that will shine, not t-shirts... ok, you can wear them, but only on weekends if your at home. That's they way it used to be. Heck, I always loved in black&white films, the men always wore suit jackets and fedoras . I'm kidding about attire... kind of.... it would be a good thing if people had more respect for each other like it seemed when I was young in 70s

Long term ones don't happen without good first ones.
