ngl, when I heard how he got streamlined in 8, I was kinda disappointed There was something satisfying about finally figuring out a hard to learn character not easy for beginners back in 7 but the more I played him, the more I get it, still tons of depth to be explored and Devilster definitely helped showed that Tekken 8 Jin is genuinely my favourite fighting game character

Been playing Jin since 1998, got pictures of me as a kid with a controller in my hands playing Tekken 3 with my friends. Played him in Tekken 4, kept playing him in Tekken 5 which I mostly played on psp, I was so mad when I played 6 and had to basically complete the story to play as him in the story. I mained Jin/Lee in tag 2, I loved his buffs in 7 and now I’m just steamrolling people with 26 years of knowledge on this character in Tekken 8 now. Down 2 is fucking broken and launch on non electric WHF is insane to me. Hopefully y’all don’t abuse this guy so bad that they nerf my lifelong homie.
It's really refreshing seeing some positive takes on changes made between games.

I play as Jin because I want to live.
Omen stance in heat is reslly cool imo. I love pulling it out when my opponent least expects it, and i have the option to mix up between hellsweep and eletrics.
I do miss the T7 Jin difficulty but he’s still pretty awesome. Ima still stick with his papa though 😂
When I press a move he does kind of what I think the move should be AKA back kick is like a round kick where other characters don't have that
There’s 2 type of people that play characters: Those that play a character because they are easy/look like Ryu/Scorpion of Tekken/they are very strong And those that play a character because he looks badass/they are inspired by his identity/understand the lore and can see themselves or part of themselves in the character/fun to play compared to another

Another thing is that Jin has many routes he can be taken in, whether that be zen canceling, play him like a Mishima, or just using his general moves, he’s got so much different play styles.
Jin’s been my main sense my first tekken which was Tekken 4, this is just the first tekken I’ve taken more seriously as i understand a lot more then I did when I was younger. I love Jin’s combos in this game just adding a electric to each combo and making it to the wall guarantees 90 dmg
he is the protagonist right now in this installment ofc everyone who played the story giving him the spotlight popularity for obvious reasons he is easy to use very fun i think because of the way how they design his combo is super cool especially omen stance for me the way they design his combo mostly full of electrics and electrics and easy b 3 to zen follow up he is very flashly on his combos reminds me of kazuya how they design his combo in tekken 7 he almost feels like devs wanting him to be the *Ryu of this Game* he is one of the poster boy for tekken alongside with his old man so for me he is cool i played him since tekken 3 and him granting an omen stance feels like t3 jin without wings also nice jacket
I've used Jin since Tekken Tag Tournament. As someone who did karate for 11 years I love his style
He was my main since his introduction in Tekken 3 but along the way i tried playing other characters too like Paul and Dragunov.Currently Dragunov is my main and Paul and Jin are my subs but i am honestly thinking of playing more with him since he is abit easier now.
I've spent over 200 hours on Tekken 8 currently, a majority of that time has been using Jin and learning him. He's such a blast to play and i still have lots to learn
Been Jin main my whole life, and to be honest I was a bit dissapointed in him in tekken 8 at first. But as time went on and I learnt more about his design in tekken 8, I can now safely say he is better than ever, and your video just gave me another perspective on it. He was easy at first but his max damage combos still depend on micro dashes which arent easy.Well done!

It's so satisfying to hit lol
As a Jin main, I’ve been maintaining him since T7 and I’m satisfied how his new move set is Jin will always be og Tekken main. Reina being my new fav newcomer to main
He is my main since tekken 3 but I've also picked up Reina as Lidia from 7 is gone
They made him extremely easy and gave him a ton of strong mixup options. He can also just skip neutral with demon paw. New players can pick up Jin with about half the effort it used to take. That’s the main reason.
I only play Jin because I can make some fire costumes with him. Also his hair looks better than Kazuya.
I used to play Jin in tekken 3. I didn’t like his changes in tekken 4 and every game I give him a little go then I drop him. This game, Jin is SO good. And it’s actually not just his accessibility it’s actually his kit options. He is SO diverse. When I’m playing Hwoarang I have mix ups and a throw game and a few good crushes but my approach’s are still similar With Jin I have good pokes, f4 gives me a stance off a poke with a great low mid and even a high that goes into red eyes, I have a great hell sweet then I have a launch off the same dash if they’re getting reads off my sweet, I have several excellent launches, a really good power crush, excellent wall carry, loads of strong pressure, 3 very good mix ups for pressure with 134 and 2144 and so on Oh and he has a whole throw game with uf 1+2 and df 2+3. Not to mention two parry options With other characters when I’m losing I often feel like “damn this is a brick wall how to I get around it” but with Jin I have like 3 or 4 approaches every time I can take. So diverse. So clear. So easy to access all the tools. Jin absolutely won me over in tekken 8
Awesome video. great argument.

Playing tekken for the first time decided to main kazuya and went 12-80, might switch to Jin and see how it goes
did i just heard persona music
I played the character in 7 I play him in 8 simple as that he always been fun regardless of what changes they do to him
I chose jin in t7 bc of his looks and karate. I knew he was hard to play in ranks bc you couldnt just button mash. The main reason i chose him was to get out of the habit of panic button mashing and using skill to win. Although im not a fan of t8 jin tbh but thats my boy ride or die
What if they make all of the moves in the end of story mode available to him during heat?
I do miss the stylish stuff we can do in T7 with Jon oki but Tekken 8 is as you def been made easier to pick up, and that unfortunately took a bit out of his ability to be more stylish. I like him and don’t and it’s my main so I can’t complain I’m still kicking ass with him.
I usually stumbled upon Dragunov and Victor a lot Jin players only appeared once or twice during my sitting

In my experience, I've been matched with Jin, Devil Jin, Kazuya, and King a lot. 🤣
flashy, has basically no weakness, great heat burst, not too hard to play, gets you far even w/o electrics and wave dash, is main character, is hot. I'm not surprised.
1:59 Letsss goo @Devilster
Probably because he's using more Mishima esque techniques and is combining it with Kazama techniqes.
Because he's the 🐐 THE 🐐
I try to play him but I can't get a grasp of him
Jin always been my main
Shout out to jin specialist devilster
1-2 months in and we finally talk about how good Jin’s design is! I’ve always been so afraid to pick up a Mishima archetype until Jin in T8. Making him more accessible and adding ANOTHER sick and complex Mishima in Reina is just a genuinely smart decision. It makes for a natural progression for people who start with Jin either stick with him and learn how powerful he is when you master EDGW, moves into EDGW wave dash mixups and his crazy good and safe pokes, or to pivot if they want to into Kazuya and Reina- being able to clear the skill floor with their knowledge in playing as Jin.
hes a main character. but for me its Lili, Asuka and Alisa are the reason why this game alive
What annoying as a jin main is that even people with no knwolege of the game know all of your move but sometime you dont know everyone of thier like eddy cause i didnt buy dlc to train againt him
Yeah, probably he is the best ever in terms of design for newcomers, cause he organically introduces almost every aspect of the game whenever you are ready to. But I was already at the stage when you are optimizing everything, doing hardest possible combo conversions and having fun. Now you can't have THAT levels of character enthusiast's fun you got with him in T7. I've almost abandoned him in T8.
Never would have happened if they didn't kill Kazuya in 3. That's when I changed over
Kazama Jin, one the first characters I picked up in near the ending of T7 and is still my favorite.

He's the good guy. Period
As an imaginary wing chun practicioner, I think Jin is Good.
I love Jin's character and am really glad they made him more accessible in this game. His moveset feels very akin to SNK's Rock Howard, with more flare, I think? Adds that whole coolness factor. And yeah, I agree, about his heat being underwhelming. Another aspect they could have done better is his Rage art. I mean sure, it looked cool when I saw it the first time with that State of Play trailer, but after everyone's Rage art got revealed, compared to most other characters Rage arts in the roster, Jin's Rage art just looks.......bland if I'm being honest.

Whaaaaaa, I love his rage art man. But yea, would be better if he did his story mode version just with the devil animations added in.
Im not going to lie but jin getting easier scares me for certain characters we saw it with law his dss no longer takes execution like jin has all of his tools built in now but that doesn’t means hes not at least difficult he no longer that super hard character he’s now just intermediate to get into, but jin getting easier scares me cause i dont want to see characters like devil jin kazuya bryan, lee or steve get easy thats what makes tekken so fun the hard characters that are in the game they just keep you interested cause of how difficult they but how rewarding they are to play, i actually dislike he got easy but he’s also the main character so i understand it but it is annoying.

Yeah I think the higher rank you go the more you run into weird matchup check characters
Jin is top 1 in fujin and above popularity, not because he's more accessible, but because he has a Samsara and fast armor HE in the same stance. He have a dragunov d2 ch launcher that cant be launched on block as a neutral tool(which is crazy, since is fast). Jin is cracked with good okizeme options (ending combos with 1 3~3 to wavedash 1 guaranteed against anything besides UP TAPPING, which is fucking weird to do). Not saying that he is BROKEN, but he is definitely stronger than most of the cast, having access to an strong 50/50(which is the core of this game, as it seems), good fast pokes with great rewards, and strong defensive options is kind of crazy to me... you need to have one of this options shaved off.

On top of that, don't forget they also buffed a lot his jab range, one of his T7 weaknesses. At this point I don't even know why he still has an i14 WS launcher.

He’s definitely a prime example of easy to learn but hard to master as well as a Jack of all trades. It feels like “balance” is what they strived for with Jin in 8 and they mostly achieve it. Also, some updates on usage rankings, he’s currently 2nd behind Eddy.
