Why isn't Singapore a Part of Malaysia?

Why isn't Singapore a Part of Malaysia?
If you wanted to travel to Singapore from Malaysia, your best bet would be using the Johor Causeway Bridge. It’s only 1 kilometer long and would have you there in no time. A flight from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Singapore takes just an hour.
The two countries are on each other’s doorsteps and share many cultural, historical and ethnic similarities.
However, they remain separate, and it is unlikely that they will unite - at least in the immediate future.
This wasn’t always the case though. In 1963 Singapore joined the Malaysia Federation in what was to be a short-lived merger. Just two years later Singapore separated due to irreconcilable differences and became an independent state.

@4:13 "and then overpowered under-strength British forces to take Singapore". There were 85,000 British troops (or troops under Gen Percival) in Singapore. It was the Japanese with only 35,000 soldiers who were actually outnumbered. And as British forces were driven into retreat down peninsula Malaya to take refuge in Singapore, there may actually have been more than 85,000 british troops in Singapore by the time the Japanese forces reached the northern shores of Singapore. There were many reasons for the fall of Singapore. The British being "under-strength" or being outnumbered by superior Japanese forces was NOT one of the reason. But if you are British, you may prefer to be comforted by the idea that "under-strength" British forces were overwhelmed by numerically superior Japanese forces.

Every state of Malaysia, there is a Capital or Ibu Kota in Bahasa e.g. the Royal Capital of the State of Pahang is Kuantan. So, Pahang is one of the 14 states of Malaysia no need to mention of her capital. Likewise, Singapore being the capital of the Royal State of Johore Bahru(JB) needs not to be mentioned but the Royal Flag is in Singapore of His Majesty, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.."Daulat Tuan!"

It is a Representative Government of Malaysia for Singapore using the English Language to trade internationally. In 1965, 'the separation' of the Chinese(especially the Chinese educated) and the Malays. The only way to stop the frequent 'racial riots'. The last happening was May 13th 1969 four years after separation which began in KL affected the sentiments of the Chinese educated in Singapore. In conclusion, are the CPM in Singapore?

The 7 year old will failed immediately. Singapore is independent state and joined Malaysia in 1965. Later due to clashes between LKY for meritocracy and Umno Apartheid policy. Singapore was expel out in 1967. Umno thought Singapore will fail and beg to rejoin back... But LKY took Singapore for a Rocket ride. Now Singapore is 3 5 times more powerful than Malaysia.

The indegenious Sabahan became Miniority in their own land. Lost the birthright to speak. Sabah now the poorest state in Malaysia. From a country become a state when join Malaysia. Pathetic. Singapore at all cost should not join Malaysia. Malaysia after all this years have not move forward but still embroil in Race and Religion. Look at mess of the socks that wrongly send to the supplier of KK Mart with Allah wording. After few times public apology to Malaysian for failing to see the socks. Molotov was thrown unto KK mart store. Till today no arrest was made. But Chinese just cracked a joke was swiftly sentence to 6 months jail and fine RM12 thousand. Malay leaders spoke hate speeches are left untouched. As an ex Malaysian and now an Australian at all cost don't join.. Singapore will be destroyed.

In 1819 the British imperial bought the island of Singapore or Temasek from the Temenggung Johor, for 60,000 Spanish dollars. It became common practice when European powers ended their conquest of their subjugated territories after the second world war that the territories were returned to their original countries. In other words, Singapore should be returned to Johor, one of the Malay states. When the British colonized Singapore, many Chinese and Indians were admitted as permanent residents. Eventually almost the entire island of Singapore was occupied and owned by the Chinese. The British colonial administration recognized that Singapore was part of Malaya. As mentioned above, when the British conquest ended, the territories colonized by them were handed back to the country of origin. That is the intention of the British and that is also the will of Malaysia. Therefore when the colonization ended, Singapore became part of Malaya again,Unfortunately, the Chinese population of Singapore caused political problems in the newly established country of Malaysia. They do not agree with the terms of Malaysia's independence, which is the privilege for the original inhabitants of Malaya, namely the Malays. They demand equal rights with the Malays.Faced with this problem, the independent Malaysian government decided to separate Singapore from Malaysia and recognize Singapore as an independent country. With that another part of Malaya disappeared. All the loss of land in Malaya happened without any protest by the Malays or their kings.

Singapore is a tiny 'district part' of the Malay(Bugis) Johore. There are other Johorean districts like Batu Pahat, Segamat, Muar, Kota Tinggi.. etc etc etc. So, when Johore is part of Malaysia there is no need to mention her other districts e.g. Singapore which comes under control by the Central Malaysian Government in Kuala Lumpur(Dewan Rakyat). So, Singapore is not 'a country but a city' of Johore Bahru. After all, it began with Sultan, Sir Abu Bakar in Singapore to these days of the Johore Sultanate where Hari Raya open-house in Istana Besar recently..Daulat Tuanku!
