I have no idea why he would sign them unless they were gifts for kids that's all I can come up with but I had them authenticated and teddy ball game signed all of them and down the road it's all houses now but it was a ball field that Ted would play with all the local kids! Mickey Mantle hit one an estimate 734 ft at Yankee stadium before the technology was available for an exact determination. Dude missed the chance for a perfect loop
Big Papi said only a hurricane could carry a ball that far!! Go Sox.
I just went here for vacation!! I went to Boston with GF’s fam, I got the full explanation of the red seat and irs really cool
How about some visual perspective , pan the camera toward the field
And I thought that was 🎅Santas Seat
I wish I could see the view from there to get a better perspective on the length
It’s crazy that he’s my cousin from my dads side they said he didn’t really talk to family a lot because he thought everyone would ask for money but my grandparents got to go visit with him a few times I need to dig through the family pictures again I love hearing about him!
Why are you such a Grifter?
fenway is so weird
Great topic great presentation.
The man: "fuck no I don't want a nearly priceless ball it hit me in the head"
Imagine getting that seat
Camden Yards has an orange seat representing where Eddie Murray hit career HR number 500! Up until this season there was another orange seat in Left-Center to honor Cal Ripken where his HR surpassed Ernie Banks as a Shortstop. It was taken out when the Orioles expanded the Outfield in Left and Left-Center.
I WAS JUST HERE FOR A TOUR LOL
And... Ted was a San Diego guy! Was a rookie with hometown San Diego Padres in Pacific Coast League, 1936 😁! Years later he would talk hitting with Tony Gwynn! Go Pads!!
That's vary cool I live in Ted's old house and when moving in and cleaning I found a stack of old topps cards of his he autographed. I have no idea why he would sign them unless they were gifts for kids that's all I can come up with but I had them authenticated and teddy ball game signed all of them and down the road it's all houses now but it was a ball field that Ted would play with all the local kids! How cool would that be also found tons of personal photos!
i remember taking a trip here and taking a picture next to it
"So we sailed up to the sun Till we found the sea of green And we lived beneath the waves In our yellow submarine" -Yellow Submarine, Beatles
Wow! What a blast!
That’s ironic because Ted Williams is my great cousin 😂 didn’t get the chance to meet him but my grandmother met him a bunch. Wish I had the pleasure to meet him.
this reminded me of the song “yellow submarine”
I’m a padre fan but I love ted bc he is a north park San Diego kid like me
I did not know this ! Good trivial vid !!
I was just in Fenway stadium last Monday!
Also in Fallout 4, there is a reference to this in Diamond City where you can find a red chair among the green in the stands.
That’s pretty cool, I’ve seen in movies where sports guys who had a set of four or five ballpark seats they have one seat red. That’s pretty cool to know why now.
Plot twist: that’s chair stained with the man’s blood after the hit
Gives new meaning to "the hot seat" lol
My grandpa was at that game. He was sitting a few rows behind that seat.
Today I learned that the road called “Ted Williams” next to me was named after this guy lol

Anybody have 406 Ted Williams drive that would be crazy
Would've been a neat visual to add by panning from that seat back down to the pitch.
I thought that was the landing spot where Ted Williams last ever HR, in his last at bat landed there - as many marked by the red seat. I saw from the field, as I took the Fenway Field stadium tour.
Painted? That seats a whole different shape haha
*person who got bonked in the head* "Nice, I now have full recollection of what happened that day."
So awesome
Is it bad that I fully expected to be murder that occurred in that seat
thats preety f**king cool… i would LOVE to sit in that one red seat...
Mickey Mantle hit one an estimate 734 ft at Yankee stadium before the technology was available for an exact determination. They used tape measures after the game and measured from home plate to straight away thru exits to outside the ballpark where the ball landed on the first bounce. Ruth’s longest was 574 ft at the stadium.
I went there on a school field trip. I learned that story
I thought he was gonna say "he decided not to sue" instead of "he decided not to keep the ball"
Hey, I visit that seat all the time in fo4
I live is Boston and that a cool thing since baseball is my fav sport
I'm a Dodger fan ... but I luv the rich history @Fenway
He graduated from my High School Herbert Hoover High. In San Diego, CA.
Cool info!
This is the same at the MCG in Melbourne, 1 yellow seat the "Blue" section.
New phrase unlocked in a sea of green chairs be the one red chair
Similar thing at the MCG in Australia except it's a cricket ball 😁
Whoever's sitting in that seat when it decides to finally give up and break is going to be one of the most hated people in baseball history.
I’m a Sox fan and have known about the seat for a long time. That being said, the seat used to be painted red but now that I see this video it looks like they just used a red seat from the home plate area of the ballpark.
Me who sees all the seats black except the red seat: Am I colour blind? Am I blind? Did I die?
Missed opportunity for the perfect loop
Missed opportunity for a great Loop ;)
Me (colorblind): *unable to see the difference
You could've ended it at "it's the only red seat..." so when it replays it would say the first line as the last line
That's why there is a home plate in the Mall of America in Minnesota because of Harmon Killebrew hitting a monster homer
Did the same thing to Harmon Killebrew of the Twins at outdoor Met stadium. Seat is now on the wall at mall of america.
Love you Boston
I have his complete 59 Fleer set, PSA 7 and above! Teddy Ballgame is a legend!

I’ll give you $20, a season pass on the T, and my season seats to a barbecue that happens down the street from me.
