    In my country you can do the same purchase for 500$ only if a "rear bumper cover" means the audi a4 2007 2.0T itself, because 500$ is a price of rear bumper here.

    Another great video, love the work you guys do. I have used your videos to help me with maintainence , diagnostics and repairs to my own 2007 A4 2.0tfsi a load of times. Thank you. One thing not mentioned in this video though, was the cam chain and tensioner. I'm curious to know if these are something to watch out for? Ive heard some stories of the tensioners failing, but have also read that there's no change interval providing the engine is serviced properly with correct oil. Is the chain and tensioner something I should consider replacing at some point? Car currently has just over 113k miles on it. Any input would be really appreciated 🤙🏻

    Squared Donut Don’t. I had an 08 A4 6spd auto in pretty good condition. I didn’t have too many problems but consumables like brakes are expensive. (At least if its your first car) My control arms were warn as well as the leaky mounts as shown in the video. You’ll be spending way more than its worth in repairs. My car was a late model so it even had the revisions done for a lot of trouble spots. Toyota is your friend. Stack some bread and get a well sorted B8 A4 as your second car if you really want to ride german. Just make sure to put aside a few thousand for that too.

    I bought the 2015 Audi A4 Quattro as my first car last year with 51k miles and only one owner. The history record for the 2015 A4 is spotless and very reliable with barley any issues. If you do consider Audi as a first car please take your time and do as much research as possible on the history record for repair cost and how much it cost to maintain. Im very happy with my A4 as it was exactly what I was trying to look for in an Audi since I couldn't afford the A7. Lol

    @Kris Nicholson I don't think that's true. Once the hardware is installed and mechanically working, and you have the new trans wired correctly, the software side of things is fixable. I know for a fact that on the MQB platform, the ECUs have the same hardware and software part numbers, regardless of transmission. Swapping the trans is as simple as changing the correct bits in the ECU and other module's long coding, and removing that auto trans from the Gateway Installation List on the CAN gateway. This is an older car, so it may be different than the MQB platform, but I can't imagine requiring an ECU replacement for a transmission swap. Worst case, maybe flashing the ECU to a different software version with ODIS Engineering or something but again, not impossible or too costly. If it really needed a different ECU, it can still be swapped with a cheap used junkyard one and adapted with ODIS Service. DAP could do it if they wanted to...

    Bought a silver s line qm California car. Worked on at 034 Motorsport. Has their high flow cat, all the street density mounts, Unitronic stg1 tune and a eibach koni cup kit. $5300 June of 2019 with 138k on it and receipts in the glove box that total more than I paid for it. Super clean with only a small dent on the hood. Could eat out of the engine bay. Now with 143k on it a couple of scratches, evap leak, oil filter housing leak and antifreeze leak near the turbo somewhere. Never over 4k rpm and still this BS. So mad cause my go fast money now has to go into maintenance. Oh well, I still love the car. Always get asked how I kept it so clean. All credit goes to the previous owner.

Most people who say they hate the CVT haven't driven one. WAY faster, smoother, and simply a pleasure to drive. Now, they're cheap to replace and rebuild, or, as only the CVT engine will allow, a manual swap with the GVE.

    I have the same year count. I've done a laundry list of repairs on this vehicle. I have the 2.0t Quattro. I love this car. I do have one problem i can't seem to get rid of. And that is uneven idle and acceleration. I've done, coils, plugs, air filter, mass air flow, map sensor, vacuum pump, coolant flange, timing belt, turbo, pvc, and lastly regular oil and coolant changes. It doesn't struggle to stay on. It bounces back and forth about 100 rpm when cold and as i begin the morning. I warm up all my cars in the morning and this one is no exception. The problem persists for about an hour then goes away. Any ideas?

    Thank you for the video! I am also thinking about buying an used Audi A4 B7. I would rather get one with Quattro to avoid the CVT transmission. I know this car is high maintenance, but one thing I worry the most is the oil consumption. Is replacing the piston rings the only solution on the oil consumption issue? Once again thank you so much for sharing the video!

    This is an FSI engine. Has a timing belt and not a chain. You are thinking about the 2.0 TSI motor that has a timing chain and the TSI came to the US in late 08 and the engine cover on VWs said TSI. FSI motors have cam follower issues.

  • @tipptop9

    @tipptop9

    @@kylemandt527 Em no I'm not mistaken, the FSI engine has a timing belt AND a timing chain. It has a timing belt from crank to exhaust cam, then a chain between exhaust and intake cam. The cam chain and tensioner setup also has an oil pressure controlled phaser on the exhaust cam, this is how variable valve timing is achieved on the FSI. You've just highlighted the 'often overlooked' part of my original post!

    13:39 I understand Denso for the most part is not a major supplier for VW/Audi, but they supply at the very least one part on every vehicle to just about every automotive manufacturer in the world. They are also owned by Toyota and supply most parts for toyotas. A bit surprised at how you would say they are bad quality or not a very good value. Not surprised at all you would recommend Bosch hahah.
