They'll definitely port it before the end of the year. Even if it's mid, people will play it just because of the heroes and stuff.

Not sure about that, there's a ton of marvel games that don't see the light of day in the west. They know Marvel games are usually a miss, so it'd be really fuckin stupid to make a console port and then make it flop, wasting thousands of dollars and time

I honestly think this careful approach is perfect, and I only ask that if it doesn’t go well at first, they make improvements and listen to the players instead of just dropping it

Micro transactions. Rushed development. Lack of updates. Server stability issues. There’s plenty of reasons why it could flop. We’ve seen it too many times where devs have a flawless concept and fail the execution.

@@DefinitelyNotAutumn... that comes down to them having a great marketing team. They marketed to what (at the time) was a very niche but dedicated fan base. A major contributor to OW success is they were able to identify that the LGBT community was a major contributor to their player base early on and showed a lot representation for them at a time where there wasn’t much of it. Especially for the FPS genre.

I would say this is more like a third-person Battleborn. I honestly think hero shooters are amazing and we haven't even seen their full potential yet.

Looks like it’s being tested on pc which shows they want it to be optimized there more then anything which is a good sign a good pc port means an amazing pet for consoles.

Their games that do lasts more than that are all really pay to win, predatory or horribly managed in every other aspects. If i were you, I'd steer away from this game company, you'll regret investing your time and hard earned money on their games. Netease games is much worse than EA, Activision, Amazon games, Nexon and Netmarble by tenfold. Hell if somebody offered me a billion dollars, a mansion or one car from any expensive car brands just for me to play their games. I'd rather just decline their offer and enjoy what i currently have. Don't say i didn't warn you, i wouldn't even touch their games with a ten foot pole, I'll just keep on avoiding those game companies i stated like the ten plagues of Egypt.

@@writeyourusername3495 A lot of them did switch in the past as well but there must be a reason why the core audience always comes back to overwatch. Also a lot of people who are not into hero shooters try these games and then develop an interest in overwatch. Overwatch won't be going anywhere. People can complain about pve cancellation and hero balancing all they want but playing as hero character have always felt more fluid and real in overwatch. But hope you are right and there is a better addition to hero shooters genre with rivals.

I just assumed this was common knowledge that games usually dont go every platform until its out of beta

I did game test in one of Chinese cities. One of devs told me that they will release game for consoles later and they were working on controller support

I know its 3 weeks later but just wanted to verify that they do indeed have xbox controller support in game. Its definitely coming to console.

I’ve been playing consoles for decades but lately I’m missing out on too many good games it seems most of my wish list right now is full of pc only or mobile which is terrible. I haven’t understood why but because of Undecember, V Rising, Torchlight Infinite, SoulMask and now Marvel Rivals I’m going to have to give up and switch to pc. Saving up now I should have one in a few months I’ll obviously still want the console feeling but I’m pretty sure I can hook a controller up to it and even run it through my tv as a monitor.

It's already confirmed by the devs that work on it that it's going to be on consoles. Closed beta is on pc though

I’m pretty sure they said the alpha, is going to be pc only as they test and experiment with the new mechanics of the game. Look g at the specks of the game on steam, it seems you have to have quite a decent computer, but the requirements are met for ps5 and Xbox series X/S. So I think it will realise on console, just not the older generation of them. (Hope so as I’m a Xbox player myself)

Bare minimum if it’s mid , it’ll still bring many over watch players

From what I heard it was PC first and consoles a few months down the road. Honestly, it’s a real shitty process getting console release rights. I can understand waiting to see how the game does before fighting that battle. That unfortunately means waiting months at a time up to possibly a year for the game to release on consoles (and that’s if it does well).

This is why PC shouldn't count as a gaming console. It's a completely separate space and the grandaddy of where console's get their architecture. A testing ground of sorts 🧐
